The location is very good, the parking fee is charged, it is fun to have a fireplace, but the room is still cold! The room I lived in was upstairs, dragging my luggage upstairs, I was really tired and vomiting! Breakfast is ok!

Lovely big rooms, there would be enough room for a sofa bed that would of made our stay perfect. The room was clean but there was a horrible smell in the room of wet dog. Breakfast was included with a variety of pancakes, muffins, pastry, fruit, cereals, tea, coffee and fruit juices. Great location for the aquarium and there’s a free bus that will take you to Fisherman’s wharf.

Location is key here, we walked to the aquarium, Cannery Row, we could have walked to Pacific Grove, and we walked the other direction all the way to the Coast Guard Pier…And we walked to Schooners for dinner. Parking is $17 directly under the building, with just enough spaces for hotel guests, there’s one small elevator that services the entire inn, no breakfast/restaurant facility on site, no laundry, no coffee, but across the street is Wave Street Cafe which I highly recommend. Hope you get John when you check in, he’s professional (I had to call him a couple times before we even got there), knowledgeable, and probably the best innkeeper/check-in person we’ve come across, knew exactly what we needed. We stayed in the Wave Suite which is a 2-room suite, right next to the elevator. From the door you walk in to the first room which has 2 queens and the next room is the living room (with sofa bed) with bathroom, but there’s no door separating the living room from the bedroom. My husband had to do a zoom call late into the night because of the time difference and the kids and I were trying to sleep but we heard the entire call. I think the “family suite” has a door between the 2 rooms so that might be a better choice if you need a door separating you from the kids (for more privacy) or you from a noisy sleeper/zoom call etc. At night the outdoor fireplace pits are nice. In the morning at 4:30am we heard the trash(?) trucks beeping up the street and then down again, no fault of this hotel but bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper and you’re near the street, lot of street noise. When we stay in a new city, I like to walk around to get the vibe of the place, this place is definitely great for that, as everything “Monterey” is walkable.

Very good, worth recommending! First, after arriving at the hotel entrance, give the car key. Not only help with parking, but also for free! Some incredible, it is a very good experience! Secondly, the room was very warm and comfortable, and it was completely old without being used for a long time. Moreover, just at the seaside, almost zero-distance contact with the seabirds, opening the window and seeing the dolphins in the sea not far away, very rare! In addition, the western restaurant downstairs in the hotel must be tried and made very delicious!

Friendly staff, solid location, decent WiFi and generally clean and has the basics down. Better for sightseeing than for those staying in, I think. Quick things to note: they don't allow late checkouts, just fyi, but otherwise you just drop your keys in a box to check out. The vending machines are also located in an open area, which is nice for when I visited but could become an issue if it's raining... The balconies are really nice, and the location is insanely convenient. It's about 10ish minutes to walk to the aquarium, and it's a block (or half, if you go out the back!) to the waterfront. There's solid food and sightseeing options here too. They do have a decent parking lot, but there's a ton you can see in Monterey by walking, and this hotel is perfect for a lot of those. What's missing here: a common dining area and breakfast, for one. Rooms aren't cramped but most furnishing is basic. Don't expect anything fancy, essentially. All that said, it's a solid choice if you're actually going out and sightseeing vs spending tons of time here. And if you do, they have some pretty nice patios and some rooms have balconies overlooking a trail.

Lovely, small inn on the edge of everything. Within walking distance to restaurants and aquarium. Room right over the water (seaguls are a bit noisy). Room was nice size and well appointed. Great service. 2 hot tubs very small - one with nice view. Cheers to the crew who helped us celebrate a birthday! Thank you.

I cannot say enough about the high level of service at this hotel. From the moment of arrival, the staff was friendly and answered all of our questions. The valet, front desk, and housekeeping staff were super pleasant and went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. The rooms were a nice size and very comfortable. The window seats were a great place to sip a cup of coffee and watch the sunrise. Breakfast tray in the morning was simple but sufficient. Nice way to start the day. WIFI was easy to access and worked well. The location of this hotel can't be beat. Steps away from the Aquarium, restaurants, shops, and of course the beach. Evening wine reception was nice touch. I will say that the decor is a little dated and could use a refresh. However, it did not detract from the pleasantness of our stay. One thing to note - parking is valet. $32/day.

We arrived at 4 pm and checked in after 7 pm. The front desk said that the hotel system has crashed, everyone can't check in, and they can't give a time when it can be restored. Ctrip's customer service is still very good, communicated in time, and finally managed to check in. It was ridiculous, I argued with the front desk for a long time in my unfamiliar English. The location of the hotel is very good, you can walk to the aquarium, but the room facilities are outdated and need to be updated. The toilet was always beeping and the shower water wouldn't leak. Good location, walk 10 minutes to the old fisherman's wharf, there is a Chinese supermarket on the right. The room structure is reasonable and easy to use, and the bedding and sofa are comfortable. Cold meals are available at 16:00 in the lobby, ham cheese fruit wine is very good. No hot food for breakfast and no meat, sorry. Overall good and worth recommending. Monterey town is beautiful, there is no parking near the aquarium, 17miles is beautiful, and the coastline of camel town is stunning.
