We did book this hostel in February because Polar Lodge was not available anymore. We did stay here two nights end of June. We arranged the included transfer from and too the airport, confirmed by mail. But sadly nobody did show up at the airport. We needed to wait almost an hour till we could take the (paid) bus our self. We did get an uninterested sorry when arrived by the reception. We did get a room in the building opposite of the reception at the end of the hall. We did only get a little wifi when nobody was around. The wifi in the canteen did work better, but still slow. The room was ok with a small table, two beds, a classed and a window with mosquito net. There were 4 bathrooms/toilets in the building. All clean and without issues, except some mosquitos. The kitchen was clean and complete. No complains about this. Including cooking equipment, magnetron, crockery and a dishwasher. The breakfast was ok. There were mosquitos in the canteens (two rooms) because one window without net was open. The main problem with this place is the location. It is 1.8km walk along the road to get to the airport/supermarket. There is a bus service on weekdays between 7:37AM and 6:08PM (but not around 12 and 5PM). The last bus on Saturday is at 1:08AM. No bus on Sunday. There is nothing to do around Old Camp. No nice walking paths, only a family arctic hares. The Albabros tours can pick you up from Old Camp. The Ice Cap Point 660 tour with 4 hours walking on the ice cap was amazing. Best restaurant was the airport restaurant. Sheets should be left outside the door before checking out. The transfer back on 9 AM did exist. The room did cost 130 euro a night. Polar Lodge is a far better option in my opinion.
