Location was good. Next to a mall. Mall was pretty much empty tho. Room was okay as I stayed only for one night. Might have to give a little bit attention on the floor carpet. There's some strangr smell once you reach your floor. Breakfast option was good. Overall for the price I paid, it was a good choice for business travellers.

Breakfast is a buffet but they will not let me go there.. they sit me down and get me my eggs, teh, fresh fruit and when i stop in during they day they get me es teh no gula.. i make sure to go to a fancy shop that sells very good chocolate Bars and buy 6 assorted big ones for them and A bottle of Wine for Kika and Laily to share. the food is 10000% PERFECT, THE CHEF MAKES GREAT MEALS.. THIS IS MY FAMILY IN BALIKPAPAN. I WOULD GIVE THE ENTIRE HOTEL AND EVERY SINGLE PERSON THERE 10 STARS.. got there and was impressed at how nice it was. looked like something out of a movie set ! greeted very nicely and took my luggage in. front desk staff very polite, smiling, happy people ! just felt like i was home. They brought my bags up to the room and i knew i was at the place to be in Balikpapan. room was, bright, CLEAN AND NICE !! The room has good wifi and for me after coming from a place with no ac, and no hot water it was like being in heaven 😁😁👍. i was leaving the room when my ipad pinged with a message so i stopped outside the door to check it when 2 polite young ladies from staff were walking by a d asked if everything was ok. i told them just checking messages and they said if i needed anything to please let them know. that was a first ! added to my great first impressions. i decided to go have a beer in the lounge. again like a movie set from years ago in the time when hotels like this were for the rich, famous or important people. another reviewer mentioned the hotel is old, which it is but the difference between this hotel and another hotel here is THIS PLACE IS CARED FOR AND IT SHOWS ! Ordered a beer and since i was only person there i chatted with the Bartender Miss Feby. very polite sweet young lady and another young man also. was showing them some photos of my travels and home and next thing i knew it was like i was holding court. many of staff and gathered around and i was surrounded by new friends. some other guest had come and sat in the lounge and the waiter stopped talking and went right over to them and when Miss Feby got the order she aslo stopped talking and made the order. Just as it should be. then another young lady walked out and started talking and introduced here self as from food and beverage sales. Miss Marzsa Noer Larasati. as much as i hated to leave she brought me up and showed me the skybar. i had no idea it existed. we talked anout many things and you could see in the way she carried herself and spoke she was a professional in her job. she promotes events for the hotel and she gave me her business card and explained her job. she makes sure everything in restaurant and bars is perfect for the guest. they have many different events and she shared her whatsapp with me and the phots show this is not just a nice hotel but a fun place to be for all ages in Balikpapan. sadly i had a dinner engagement out with friends a d had to excuse myself. very hard to leave this young lady. her attitude about her job and life was amazing. she will have not just a great career but great life also. the next morning I had a 6:45 AM flight and my ride was supposed to pick me up at 4:30 but never showed and the guy who ran my tour was constantly checking with me to see if his driver arrived and i was pacing back and forth and the staff asked if i needed help and when i explained my predicament they got their phones out and got me a grab car to airport a d w

I checked in on 11 PM. There was no receptionist at the ground floor at my tower. The security told me that the 24 hour receptionist is on the 7th floor at the other tower. I must walked through water boom area that only partially covered by roof and that time the rain was falling. It could be better if I enter the hotel through the other tower. At the receptionist I must wait around 10 minutes because they were handling another guests. When it was my turn they found my room have been registered by my company but they were not sure whether someone have been checked in to my room or not. Then they must check directly to my room and I had to wait for another 10 minutes. After got my key I must walk through the water boom area again and it was still raining. Finally I could enter my room, but I found the blanket have some stains and the mat in the bath room was really dirty. I just opened the blanket and put away the mat. The room was small. The shower area in the bath room was also very narrow. When I wanted to check out on 7 AM I called the receptionist where should I check out and they said I must check out at the same receptionist with last night because the receptionist on my tower was not open yet. So I must walk again through the water boom area and it was still raining.

Neo+ was fine for a 2 night stay. It’s only 3 years old, so I was surprised at how well worn the room was, but it was pretty clean. The aircon leaked all over the floor on my first night but was ok the second. WiFi didn’t work well at all. Bathroom was quite sp**** - could have done with a couple of small towels and a hair dryer. Breakfast was mostly Asian with an egg station and toaster. The big negative for me was the location - not the best of locations for a visitor, and quite a long way from anything. Down by the water is far nicer.

staff were OK but hotel was very run down. staff said the cheaper rooms were in a separate block without any lift and open corridors. they also face onto a huge construction site which operated as early as 630am some days and sometimes finished as late as 10.30pm. Dirty run down room with hair and cockroaches in bathroom. only positives were good location, good aircon and good wifi in room. sleeping was very poor due to no inroom sound insulation aswell as building work. there is a small swimming pool but wasnt very clean. stay elsewhere - but balikpapan isnt a great option for tourists in general. breakfast was soso, as chicken/meat was recooked and gave me stomach problems... fruit was good

This is probably the best hotel in Balikpapan. The room is clean and comfortable. All the staffs are polite and professional from the front desk to the F&B department. The room service menu could be improve further but I love my Ayam Penyet and Soto Soup. Excellent food. Bfast buffet spread was also very good. Thanks to Karen and Inka for always making sure that all our needs are met. We will be back again soon.

the sagita hotel that has been run by horison became a horison sagita.luxury hotel on its hour.where the feeling of borneo is very visible with a ulin wooden pole.the lobby and hotel face look very ok.the receptionist is very helpful and friendly. There is still a doorman who opens and quickly carrys luggage bags. The location is quite good. There is a swimming pool just in front of the ballroom so it is not convenient to swim when there is a wedding. Classic room with flat tube tv monitor and spacious room. Split ac is still cold. Window with view and can be opened. Refrigerator has been pulled. Still equipped with wall to wall carpet. Room lights are a lot but still not bright. The bathroom needs to be improved the leaking toilet and the shower water flow like baby pee. If this hotel continues to be renovated and with horison standards will definitely return to reach its luxury as before.

During my Balikpapan business trip, i prefer to chose hotel property in a prime location. Midtown express balikpapan is located in a central town. walking distance with mall, atm, food hall and business purpose. when i noticing this hotel actually 2 star but they had a very decent room facility and breakfast just like a 3 star + complete amenities and they changed it daily, they even give me an additional mineral water. room was compact and modern. suits on me! cleanliness was perfect. i'm happy with the variety of breakfast. complete nutrition; protein, carbo, fish, and few of jajan pasar. The staff service trully excellent. glad to say that the hotel management give them a proper well trainning - although the hotel was fullbooked, hotel staff still give the guest name recognition. - fast respond in every aspect. i request to laundry by morning and its ready by the afternoon. i just asking to the housekeeping ”is it my laundry already finished?” they say hold on, let us check. and the next 2 minutes my laundry is being delivered to my room. wow! same thing when i request a tiny little help and they just doing excellent. So happy to say that i do have a wonderful time in Midtown Express Balikpapan. keep up your good work

I checked in on 11 PM. There was no receptionist at the ground floor at my tower. The security told me that the 24 hour receptionist is on the 7th floor at the other tower. I must walked through water boom area that only partially covered by roof and that time the rain was falling. It could be better if I enter the hotel through the other tower. At the receptionist I must wait around 10 minutes because they were handling another guests. When it was my turn they found my room have been registered by my company but they were not sure whether someone have been checked in to my room or not. Then they must check directly to my room and I had to wait for another 10 minutes. After got my key I must walk through the water boom area again and it was still raining. Finally I could enter my room, but I found the blanket have some stains and the mat in the bath room was really dirty. I just opened the blanket and put away the mat. The room was small. The shower area in the bath room was also very narrow. When I wanted to check out on 7 AM I called the receptionist where should I check out and they said I must check out at the same receptionist with last night because the receptionist on my tower was not open yet. So I must walk again through the water boom area and it was still raining.

Breakfast is a buffet but they will not let me go there.. they sit me down and get me my eggs, teh, fresh fruit and when i stop in during they day they get me es teh no gula.. i make sure to go to a fancy shop that sells very good chocolate Bars and buy 6 assorted big ones for them and A bottle of Wine for Kika and Laily to share. the food is 10000% PERFECT, THE CHEF MAKES GREAT MEALS.. THIS IS MY FAMILY IN BALIKPAPAN. I WOULD GIVE THE ENTIRE HOTEL AND EVERY SINGLE PERSON THERE 10 STARS.. THE TULIPE BAR IS ALSO GREAT FUN..GUYS BINTANG TIDAK BAGUS,CORONA BAGUS🤣🤣 the pool is perfect, clean and big. they also do Weddings and events for different Holidays and if you want a mind boggling beautiful wedding meal..Kika and rest will make your wedding beyond perfect..EVERY SINGLE MEMBER OF KITCHEN AND RESTAURANT STAFF WORK AS A TEAM MAKING DREAMS COME TRUE LOVE PAPA
