Eldá Guesthouse

Very close to Lake Mi, the facilities are generally simple, the room size is small, the room has three single beds, three bedside tables, one table, two chairs, one pool, nothing more. The kitchen and bathroom are shared and slightly inconvenient. The kitchen has shared kitchen utensils and cutlery. The cooktop is small and can only be cooked for one time. The breakfast at the hotel is very good for several varieties. Compared to other parts of Iceland, the price of this hotel is high (scenic price), but the accommodation service provided is too general (farm level). In addition, there are many black flying insects in the area around Mihu in summer, and the face is rushing to the body. It feels very bad. Now I think of goose bumps. Summer travel is not recommended to live near Mihu, which is very expensive. Not comfortable.

Very very good, really happy! My husband has always praised me that this hotel is well booked. It is recommended to consider this hotel after the tour from Lake Myvatn. There is a natural hot spring. It is a hot spring pool covered by the natural hot spring that the owner flows down from the mountain. We didn't take a dip in the Blue Lake and Lake Myvatn this time because the schedule was too tight, but because this hotel comes with it, we took two dips in the evening and in the morning. After the dip, our hands and feet were warm. Advantages: The room is large and has a small balcony. A small table and two chairs are placed for guests to relax and drink tea. The room is clean and hygienic, and the bathroom decoration is also very comfortable. There are natural hot springs outside. The breakfast was pretty good. The price is also very nice. Disadvantages: None.

While on a 10-day Ring Road drive around Iceland, three of us booked one night here. We were met by the owner, a friendly and helpful gentleman. Our room had three single beds, was pleasantly decorated, and had a nice view of the countryside. Everything in the room looked, felt, and smelled clean as a whistle. The bed was firm but very comfortable, and the small sink in a corner came in handy for nighttime sips of water. Everyone slept very well in this quiet, rural guest house. The shared bathroom was well-planned and spotless. The shower was completely separated from the rest of the bath, and featured a private modern shower with plenty of hot water. The two toilet stalls are super private, with walls and doors that completely protect the modesty of the occupants. Two sinks complete the shared bath. There is a shared living-dining room with large windows and comfortable furniture. A hot tub is available for guests, but we did not use it. Breakfast the following morning was great. Typical Icelandic foods such as an assortment of breads, fruit, cereal, and beverages. There are small kitchen appliances, including a refrigerator, and kitchen ware for guests to use too, a nice touch. While we ate, the owner chatted with us about Icelandic gardening, asked what our plans were, and offered suggestions for sightseeing along our route. We followed his sage advice and were very grateful that he suggested those places. If you're looking for a quiet, clean place with warm and welcoming hosts, you found it. If we're ever fortunate enough to return to this beautiful corner of Iceland, we will definitely stay here again.

On the south shore of the Myvatn Lake with a view across the road of the pseudo craters. Standard, but spacious room. Good breakfast. The shop nearby sells head nests, which you need in the fly season. The flies are innocuous, don't sting and if they enter through an open window will try to find a way back out.

This was one of my favorite stays in Iceland. The apartment was very spacious, organized, clean and well equipped. The owner had good communication about check in/out. I loved the remote location. It would be a good base for touring in that area. We would stay here again. And the views! What a lovely, restful spot. My one small suggestion would be to add directions for those of us who have never used the type of oven/stove and washer/dryer. I’m sure it’s simple for most but a step by step for those would be nice.
