Our trip to Naeba was seamless. We booked our shinkansen ticket online, so we know what time we need to be at Tokyo Station. Prior to our trip, I've booked online via the hotel website their free shuttle. As I know that we would arrive at Echigo-Yuzawa slightly before 1pm and would not make it for the 1pm shuttle, I booked 1 hour later. No worries about spending time at the station, as they are stalls and shop to look around. At 2 p.m., the shuttle bus was there, and they took our names and helped with our luggage. Although it was early in the winter season, there were quite a few number of visitors on the same bus. The bus ride is about 40 minutes. Once at the hotel, we checked in and got our keys for our room in Building 2. As the ski lift closes at 5pm, we did not plan to ski until the next day. TIPS: This would be the best time to book 1 Day Ski passes online in advance (can not same day) as you save 1,000 yen per ticket. QR Code is available on the pamphlet given by reception or at the ticket collect machine area at Buiding 3. We booked a room for 4 people, 2 on bed and 2 on the sofa bed. The space was sufficient for us, albeit have to take turns to open luggage. Resort guest also are given 1 locker per room to store your ski gears. So it was easy for us to come in the morning to retrieve our gear and head out to the snow. As this is an old resort, do not expect modern furnishing, but it has what a hotel should have and we'll maintain in terms of cleanliness. It was still early in the season (we stayed 17-20 Dec), so restaurant selection is quite limited as most are only opening after 20th Dec. On the first day, one will need to spend some time at the ski rental store as everyone queue for their gear.

The value far exceeded beyond. I didn’t find it dated, all is well given the amount paid. It’s far far above expectations. Will stay here again when I next visit. The location is also not too far from the station.

Child meal is hopeless.  Stayed for 5nights, same meals daily.  8. Want to bring a cake to dinner to celebrate my Daughters Birthday, we were forbidden to do so. Nothing besides what they bring to you.  9. Onsen was good 10. Basic ice cream treats.  11. Simple ramen in the evening Hotel is too rigid. It’s really expensive during our visits. The rules at dining and the same meals daily, it’s unbearable. Kids have nothing much to eat For the price, I’ll not stay in this rigid property. Many other Ryokan resort for lesser price and better options. It’s not ski in ski out and yet price are too high.

Hotel Nikko Niigata Take bus No. 17 from Niigata Station for 260 yen to Niigata Nikko Hotel in Tokimi. The guest rooms are from the 22nd to the 29th floor. I lived on the 27th floor with a wide view. Just take note of the last shuttle bus back to hotel. In all the stay was good, just need to take note that this hotel is only allow SKI in / SKI out... But NOT SNOWBOARDING.... That you have to take shuttle bus to other resort location thru its skiing shuttle bus services...

Hotel with hot spring and others facilities like swimming pool and gym room. Room are big enough for 3-4 persons. Location a bit far from town if with car no issue at all. Hotel do provide bus but time limited till 6pm. All staffs could not speak English so communication was an issue if you request something.

The room is older and has a slight smell. It is within ten minutes' walk from Bandai Bridge and within ten minutes from Niigata Station, which is a relatively suitable location. The price is super cheap and totally worth it.

Very bad experience, my husband placed his glasses into the ski-googles packing box, then we go out skiing at the morning, when we back after dinner and hot spring at night. we found the packing box is lost in the room. But we surely haven’t brought it out. We asked the staff, the staff help to ask the cleaners, but they just said have seen it. So we lost the glasses mysteriously. And we haven’t found it at last.  My husband love this glasses very much and it lost unexpected in the room.

The location is less than 5 minutes' walk from Niigata Station. It is located in a quiet alley, so it is very quiet. In addition, the breakfast is rich and balanced. In addition to rare fruits (tomatoes and strawberries), even the miso soup is full of vegetables. Excellent value for money, highly recommended. The nearby Hakusan Shrine is a famous place of worship for marriage, and the Bandai Museum of Art building can be climbed up to see the distance.

Located a 10-minute walk from Niigata Station. There are various commercial facilities nearby, so it is very convenient if you are going shopping. The rooms are compact. Although it is old, it is well-cleaned.

Nice hotel withe rooms of various sizes. For me it was spacious enough. Bed was comfortable, would have liked one more cushion. Room was clean an I liked that i could open the window. It was quite hot in the room because the heater was turned on. Even if i turned it off hot air came out. Room was clean and had everything i needed. You can also get things at the front desk. Breakfast was buffetstyle and really very good with a lot of choises, both Japanese, local and western. Location was very convenient near the train station. About max a 5 minutes walk. Near the hotel there are a lot of places to eat or have a drink. At the station is a shopping mall.

First of all, it is quite close to Niigata Station, about 10-15 minutes walk. There are many restaurants or izakayas nearby, and of course there are also convenience stores. The front desk is on the second floor, so whether the elevator goes up or down, it has to stop on the second floor, which is a bit speechless. It was already past 7pm when I went there. When I arrived on the second floor, I found a lot of people gathered, all holding forms, and they seemed to be from Southeast Asia or South Asia. I thought I would have to wait slowly to check in, but later I found out that they seemed to be conducting an interview or something like that. Anyway, there was only one person in front of me checking in. After I finished checking in, they were still sitting and writing, and checking in only requires a signature. The room is not big, just like a normal business hotel in Japan. It doesn’t matter if you only stay for one night anyway. You can store your luggage for free after check-out the next day.

This is our 3rd week of 4 weeks exploring Japan and so far Yuzawa Grand is the best Ryokan Onsen experience we have had. We could have spent several days there it was sublime. We arrived in the morning and the staff were extremely welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable. We had been told by the tourist centre at the train station that the gondola wasn’t operational for 3 days; however the Yuzawa Receptionist assured us that it was operating and showed us that they were even able to sell us tickets at a discount. She gave us a map and bus timetable, showing us where everything was. They stored our backpacks for us and off we went exploring and had a marvellous time. We soaked our feet in the foot baths while having a treat before catching the bus to the mountains. We came back to our gorgeous room which had a coffee pod machine in it. Was so nice having a coffee in the morning looking out the window. We enjoyed relaxing in the beautiful Onsens before dinner. The buffet at both dinner and breakfast was incredible, everything so beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. Highly recommend this gorgeous hotel. The staff are fantastic and the ambiance very peaceful.

One of the nearest accommodation to Gala Yuzawa Ski Resort and shuttle via a mini bus is available. Shuttle bus goes to Echigo Yuzawa station too. It is walking distance from Gala Yuzawa. Approach any staff at the Ski Resort with the telephone number of the hotel to request for it. Stayed there for a few night for snowboarding. Breakfast selection was fabulous with two local Japanese sake available! The room is big, clean and well furnished. It even come with a great view! Onsen street which is the street lined with restaurant is 10-15mins walk away. I recommend making reservation for dinner if you do not intend to go out for dinner. Great service is one of the key reason why I would return to stay!

I love this hotel very much .The Location is very good it easy to Cary your luggage from station to this hotel.Aroud hotel have many restaurants.....from the Google map you will confuse about the distance. Please use West Exit it near hotel. The view in hotel suitabe to relax.

It is about 900 meters away from Yuzawa Eki Station and can be reached on foot. You can also contact the hotel for free pick-up and drop-off. The historical Japanese-style hotel is very unique. It happened to be snowing heavily in the early morning and soaking in the open-air hot spring was very special. The breakfast was very rich and I was happy to have such a good meal.
