Overall, I don’t think I would stay here again. Maybe it is worth to spend a night or two here. Details below:
During my 6D5N trip, I have stayed in different hotels. This hotel had the most expensive parking by far. It was ¥2000 / night. Also the parking was a bit inconvenient since the parking area uses an elevator-system and you need a staff to operate the parking system machine to get your car each time you need to use your car.
There were a lot of families with young children during my stay, not the best place if you’re looking for a quiet place to relax. There were also only 2 elevators so sometimes it takes a long time to wait for the elevators due to the crowd.
The hotel provides a lot of amenities, including some daily activities from 17:00-18:00, noodles from 20:30-21:30, and free flow drinks from 10:00-22:00 (no free laundry tho). I got to try the traditional outfit dress up session, it was a good experience to quickly try on the Okinawan-style kimono.
Just a personal preference, I did find their soaps and skin care products heavily scented, which I wasn’t a fan of.
As we checked in the room (room number: 2016), we found the room type was different than the one shown on the website. It was clear that two beds were movable. For most of the people I guess, the beds are not confortable cause they are not fixed. Moreover, the beds were located next to the window. I could here the traffic outside all night. What made it worse was that we were not asked that our room had been changed or somehow .......no ! Nothing at all.
The hotel is spacious with private hot spring. The facility is a bit old and lack of maintenance, especially the wooden floor for the private hot spring. Location wise even though it is closed to the airport and city, there are not even a convenient store on the island or with walking distance to the hotel. Recommend only to stay one night. If you opt for breakfast, they only served japanese set breakfast which is lack of variety of food.
The hotel has a multi storey parking for hotel guest use, free of charge, but need to have a chop at front desk.
Also there is a Aeon nearby which is tax free. We buy a lot of souvenir there!
Hotel is located just next to American Village Depot Island. It is just across the street... and u will find plenty of shops, restaurants and entertainment there. Although the view is not good, there is a balcony in our room.
There is also a public bath (free of charge) as well...open till very late, many people go there at night.
Remember to go before sunset as the sea view is great and many people go there for photo taking.
The view from the hotel room is beautiful, but the hotel is on a mountain and the location is a little inconvenient. After eating out at night, it was really dark on the way back to the hotel. But overall it's pretty good.

Location: On the outskirts of Naha city - 15 mins by car from both the airport (traffic permitting) and city centre. Also within the red light district so not recommended to venture out on foot at night (see picture)
Parking: Hotel has limited parking within premises for 1,500yen per day (but unlimited driving in and out of car park), and needs to reserve at the hotel at 11am each day (so if you arrive at night you'll at least have to sort out the first night yourself). There are small car parks dotted around the area but firstly, the car parks are small so no guarantee of spaces and secondly, the car parks are located amongst various love hotels. The best we found (in terms of location and safety) is one at Costa Village ESPANA which is 5 minutes on foot from the hotel (500yen overnight and 700yen day park) (see picture)
Room: Very small (i.e. standard Japanese semi-doubles), but the bathroom is spacious with onsen facilities
Breakfast: A very good spread including local dishes, 1,900yen per person (kids eat for free) (see pictures)
Facilities: Swimming pools on 2/F (free) and rooftop with bar (paid, so havent tried). Onsen on 2/F also opens till late, with both indoor and outdoor onsen, and quite packed
Very glad we stayed in the hotel. Lots of amenities for kids, including kid play room, swimming pool with slides and bouncy castle. Very organized and good breakfast. There are a lot of dining option directly outside the hotel. You will be spoilt for choices.

The staff at the counter were very nice and helpful. The hotel facilities were also introduced in detail. The hot springs were also great, but they were only open until 11pm. There are many convenience stores nearby, so it is very convenient to buy things. There is a McDonald's and Starbucks next to it.
I had a wonderful stay at the Orion Hotel in Motobu during my trip to Okinawa. The hotel is in a fantastic location, just a short distance from popular attractions like the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium and the beautiful Emerald Beach. The surrounding views of the ocean and lush greenery were breathtaking.
The room was spacious, modern, and immaculately clean. I particularly loved the balcony, which offered a stunning view of the sea—perfect for relaxing after a long day of exploring. The bed was very comfortable, and the amenities provided made my stay even more convenient.
The hotel staff were exceptionally kind and professional. They were always willing to assist, whether it was answering my questions about local attractions or ensuring my room was perfectly prepared. Their hospitality truly made the experience unforgettable.
One highlight of my stay was the hotel’s breakfast buffet. The variety of local Okinawan dishes and international options was impressive, and everything was fresh and delicious. The outdoor pool and spa facilities were also excellent and added to the overall luxury of the experience.
I highly recommend the Orion Hotel Motobu to anyone visiting this part of Okinawa. It’s perfect for families, couples, or solo travelers looking for a relaxing and high-quality stay. I look forward to returning in the future!

AAnonymous UserAbsolutely stunning and private Japanese style hotel.
Clean, friendly staff, ocean front views from every window, private onsen, public onsen, great food.
Sea breeze, birds chirping, I actually felt sad leaving.
No hesitation to recommend to any traveler looking for a tranquil Japanese experience.
GGuest UserHalekulani Okinawa has definitely exceeded our expectations, mainly by the following reasons:
Service:
The hotel offered great first impressions to us, as mango smoothies were offered to us during check in, which was a nice touch to the experience of having a tropical feel even before exploring the whole resort. Also, we were given a free upgrade by the hotel workers, which definitely leveled up our experience.
Design:
The hotel has used the same design as the resort in Hawaii, including the signature orchid flower pool. This really made our family feel like we have been instantly transported into a tropical paradise. The hotel has also been designed to mix in with the spectacular view of the sea and sunset.
Size of the hotel:
Halekulani has a total of 5 pools, 2 blocks of buildings, which gives us a good time to actually explore the hotel instead of knowing what’s where in one single glance.

RRhodorait was quite good , had a nice time with my friends though I was expecting to swim on the pool but it was raining so the big one outside was closed
