Quick summary: Clean, quiet room. Wifi worked well, but many power outlets in the room did not. Complimentary breakfast was only okay. We have stayed here in the past while on our regular road trips to visit the family. Room 177 had two queen beds, good linens, and nice assortment of pillows. It is quiet and comfortable, with many of the amenities we expect of a BW property: fridge, microwave, coffee/tea maker, chest of drawers, good sitting chair, roomy desk and ergo chair, iron/board, room safe. Good TV, but it would be nice to have a printed guide so that you don't have to scroll through to find the stations you are interested in. This room looks out to a nice wooded area. We had some issues during this stay. None of the power outlets worked at the desk. So, I moved the coffee maker to the nightstand, where only one of two outlets worked. (try dealing with that when trying to power up your cellphones, ipads, etc.) The bed is comfortable with a nice assortment of pillows. However, in mid July, you don't need the duvet unless you really crank up the AC. Basic sheets and a light blanket would have been more comfortable. (We took the padded filler out of the cover, which made for a lighter cover at night.) To the good: the wifi and HVAC worked well. Weak cell signal, but that's Bennington. Tub/shower combo worked well. Shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion are provided. Excellent housekeeping. Pretty good breakfast, but some room for improvement. Fried eggs and sausage patty at breakfast. Assorted breads for toast, bagels, yogurt, fresh fruit, juices, cereals. Packaged bakery is hygienic, but basically vending machine quality -- that's too bad as there are many good bakeries in the area. The coffee is nice - strong enough - but one of the half-and-halfs from the fridge curdled in my coffee. Still, I applaud having half-and-half, rather than only having non-dairy creamer. (Take a few for the room.) The breakfast room is nice and sunny, but could use better AC in July. The location is not far from the center of town. A number of restaurants are nearby. Friendly, helpful, professional staff throughout. On-site laundry for guest use. So - we will likely think about this place again in the future, but they didn't live up to expectations this time, and may consider somewhere else next time.
Pine Crest Motel & Cabins

We loved this motel/cabin setup in the Northern Kingdom. Close to the town of Burton - and the amenities. We stayed in a two bedroom cabin, right next to the river - pool under construction but once complete, great setup for kids and adults. Beautiful location.

Probably THE nicest ‘motel’we’ve stayed in as it really is a Motor Lodge type motel - parking around both sides of the building - park near your room - great finishes, clean and large sized room. Very comfortable! Close to good restaurants.
Field Guide Lodge

The soundproofing of the room is very poor, the sound of walking on the floor outside, the sound of music next door affects the morning sleep, the sofa bed is not comfortable at all, the sheets are thin and soft, I always feel unclean, I feel itchy when I sleep, the room space is not very small, and there is basically no service. So it is more general.
Colonial Motel and Spa

Well the reviews I read after I booked this place are either really bad or pretty good. There are 2 different buildings of rooms and another separate with pools. The front one looks like a dump and that's probably where the bad reviews come from. I was in the back in 203. The room was big and clean. The whole place can use some freshening up, but it was fine for a $90 motel. The pool area is pretty good. 2 pools and a hot tub. Not much deck space or chairs but decent. The hot tub closes on Tuesdays to be emptied and cleaned. The staff can certainly use some professional training in hospitality. They weren't rude but not very warm, welcoming or in any kind of uniform and pretty haggard looking. Overall it's a cheap, tired old place that has seen better days. I got what I paid for, nothing more. For no cost at all they could do a lot more but it's pretty clear they are riding into the sunset with no interest in improvement.

I am very familiar with this area but stay closer to the ski areas. My girl friend and I were doing a favor for her friend so her friend was the one who made the reservations. Our room was spacious and appeared to be clean, no unusual orders. The combo ac/heater wall unit was not capable of heating the room to a more comfortable temperature despite being set to the maximum setting of 72 degrees. I removed the unit's filters only to find them solidly caked with dust. I rinsed them off in the bathroom sink, shook them out and replaced them. The bathroom was cold and the tub looked grungy with a green stain. The tiles look like they fell off and were replaced by an rank amateur using tub calking instead of tile grout. My girl friend only was able to take a shower because she brought flip flops she could wear in the shower. She had to run the hot water to get the bathroom steamed up and heated enough to comfortably take a shower. I wonder what it will be like when the real cold Vermont winter sets in. It seems that all of the most recent reviews give this place a poor rating. It has really nice potential, a nice large front lawn, set back off the road as well as a lot of open property behind it. I hope the current owners can bring this motel back up to what it must have been but it will take money to accomplish it.
