Great location to take care of business and have lunch or a late dinner after a long day. Plus a great opportunity to shop for gifts all at a very convenient location. The choices of stores you have e are very good.

This is my second time staying here and it was as good as the first. They were fully booked except for the disability access room, so I had to take that. The bed it king-sized and the mattress was sort of mushy, especially on the side by the night stand. There was no bath tub, which was disappointing (they didn't tell me this). Just a shower with a low step to get in, lots of metal bars to hold on to and a shower seat. This would be good for someone who needs it. But I am not complaining as I needed this location. I stayed two nights, but could not book the 3rd night because they were sold our for a wedding. I guess this happens often, so try to book well in advance if you can. No food service in the hotel, but lots of great restaurants close by and the river is great to walk along.

Chicago Loop
My cousin and I were really happy with this hostel. We were lucky to get an 8 person dorm to ourselves, with en suite bathroom. The complimentary buffet breakfast was decent and the coffee good. Most staff were very friendly and helpful. The one drawback was a big one for us: out of 3 laundry rooms, none of the machines were working! There are dry cleaners in the area but no laundromat so we had no choice but to wear the same clothes for the next 3 days. There's no excuse for allowing all the machines to break down before calling for repairs. The hostel is huge, 7 stories, and offers all kinds of activities, a cafe next door, a fabulous library across the street, and even programs for the community. I saw an infant massage class going on in a meeting room.

Amazing staff and all around great hotel would recommend usually pretty cheap and well worth the price. Always accommodating far beyond expectations I've stayed over 15 nights and every time it's 100% added new waffle maker and always have fresh coffee on hand. Love this place- Ian E
Comfort Inn Joliet West I-80

No frills, nothing fancy here. Standard clean hotel close to I-80. It’s a place to shower, sleep, have some breakfast and leave. There is a gym, I don’t remember if there is a pool (in case you’re into that). Plenty of places to eat lunch and dinner, including a decent pub-style restaurant right across the parking lot. Prices are fair. Overall good stay.
Super 8 by Wyndham Mt. Vernon IL

After reading some negative reviews, I would have to say I was worried and almost cancelled our reservations. They said there was only a kiosk to check in & no one to help. There was very friendly & helpful woman behind the desk. Room was in great shape, flat screen tv with lots of channels. Breakfast had hot waffles, not toaster ones. Checking out the clerk was not there but a person popped up on the kiosk and called him to the desk. Good value for the price. Better than the last Super 8 in another state. There was also a card on the desk to fill out & ask if we found anything that needed their attention.

Lincoln Park
I was pleasantly surprised when arriving at the hostel. It's in a beautiful street. Lincoln Park is such a lovely area, I wish I had more time to explore it. Tree-lined streets, great shopping and food options on Clark Street and close proximity to Lincoln Park and the beach. Also close to the subway to head into downtown Chicago. It's the nicest hostel I have stayed in. Spotlessly clean, large reception area and sitting room. Huge kitchen and fridges and free laundry which I took advantage of. If you're looking for a social hostel to meet people it didn't give me that sort of vibe, which was fine for me because I was out most of the day. There didn't seem to be any events on and everyone in the common area just seemed to be on their phone and keeping themselves to themselves, which again was totally fine for me. I stayed in a private room with a shared bathroom. The room was a great size with air-con, a table and chair and a bunk bed (single on top, double on bottom). The mattress was ok. The bunk beds were not great, a bit wobbly ( I wouldn't like to have had to climb to the top bunk), but it was fine and I had good sleep each night. The room was fresh and clean. I stayed 6 nights and it wasn't cleaned whilst I was there. With it being a hostel I'm not sure how this works? I emptied my own trash, asked for new towels and bedding which was fine but I would have liked it to be cleaned during my stay, not a big deal though considering the price, the fact its a hostel and generally how lovely it was. The shared bathrooms were spotlessly clean. There were four showers in the one closest to me. The staff were mostly friendly. One staff member was a bit rude when I queried the wifi, turned his back away and clearly did not want to engage (maybe he was having a bad day?) I just felt a bit awkward and like I was troubling him.. And the wifi was the only real negative. I struggled to get connected in my room throughout my stay and had to purchase data add ons which was an extra expense. Overall though, I would return. Brilliant set up and a gorgeous area.
