Very clean and warm. It is a bit tired to climb up the slope at the door. The location is very good, just in the city center, a little down is the Octagon Square in the city center. Parking on the side of the road is better than the hotel entrance, the slope is too steep

Unlike Haka House in Queenstown which has free coffee and tea, this hostel doesn’t have any. It is only $3 though. But the space in the rooms were bigger than then one in the city center. Big kitchen area, and bigger lounge.  You can borrow a cord for your charger. Negative feedback: this is infront of the lake and my room was facing the lake  and so i can hear  the sound of the cars passing by, the noise from the people walking in the road if they were too loud. It’s not something very distracting.  Second one: the “clean towels” use to dry the utensils are looking dirty even if they were freshly washed because of the stains and probably because it’s old and has been used a lot. Also, they don’t put unlimited supplies of the towels to dry, I saw the lady putting only 3 towels unlike in Haka house queenstown and the haka house in mt cook where they put unlimited supplies of clean towels and they look clean and presentable. I didn’t even use those towels to dry the utensils/cutleries I just air dry them to the side. The sponge also looks old and worn out..it would be nice if they are replaced at least every 10-15 days.

It was a really great backpacker hostel! I can also convince you that the word of mouth is very good. First of all, there is a lot of cleanliness. The shared space is beautiful and all the guests use it cleanly. Each room is also beautiful, and it is also great that the bed on the lower stage has a curtain and can be closed. We are also prepared to drink hot chocolate and tea. New Zealand was cold in autumn, so I was very happy to have a warm drink when I returned to the hostel. It was an early check-out in the morning with a late check-in, but he contacted me in advance and responded politely. Also, it was a nice hotel that I would like to stay!

the room was clean but quite cramped - lots of clutter in the kitchen and things were not labelled. perhaps if solo you could put up with it but with a small group it is not as tolerable.

Polite staff and central location in Queenstown ( 5 minutes walk to city center). Amenities include free WiFi, laundry, a garden, hot tub, and bike access. Rooms were cozy but basic. The communal kitchen space was organized and easy to use. The sauna is the reason I will book again when in Queenstown. 🥰

The wooden house has creaky floors, so you need to walk lightly. There's no private bathroom; about two to three rooms share one shared bathroom (toilet and shower). The interior decor is charming and unique, clearly a lot of thought went into it. Check-in is via a code, which can be a hassle if you miss the email – I personally spent a long time trying to find it. The single bed is quite narrow, but that seems to be a common standard abroad.

This was my first time staying in a capsule hotel, and overall it was pretty good. You can turn on a fan inside the bed, so it doesn't feel stuffy. I was super lucky that day because even though it was a 4-person dorm, only two of us actually checked in, so it felt like a private two-person room. This LyLo in Queenstown is super close, right on the corner, and has a big penguin out front. Self-check-in was very easy; they send you an email well in advance, so the check-in process is a breeze. Check-out was even simpler – just click on the 'check-out' link in the email. Everyone in the room gets a locker, and it's quite spacious, so my suitcase fit in perfectly. The front desk service was also great. I accidentally locked my locker before setting a password, but I went down to the front desk, and they helped me resolve it quickly. They were very polite throughout. However, there was one minor issue with the facilities: there were a lot of people in the bathroom. Although the shower area was quite spacious, there was only one sink, so everyone had to take turns brushing their teeth and washing up.

Street parking is free before 9 am, and nighttime parking is very convenient. There's a large slope, so dragging your suitcase up was a bit of a struggle. There are restrooms both upstairs and downstairs, which is great. The showers are on the first floor, unisex. The laundry room is from 9 am to 4 pm, which is a bit inconvenient; we checked in late, so I couldn't do laundry, and there's a charge. The facilities are generally quite complete. By the way, you need to bring your own slippers, shower gel, and shampoo. New Zealand doesn't provide toothbrushes, toothpaste, or slippers, so remember to bring your own. You need to remove the leaflets and bed linens yourself when you leave and throw them in the laundry room on the first floor. The overall environment and facilities are very friendly, and I would recommend it.

This hotel in Wanaka is really great. We're a family of three and booked a quad room with bunk beds. We were mainly there to enjoy the beautiful scenery, so the accommodation was secondary. This hostel is very clean, almost like a hotel, just with bunk beds. My parents are quite agile, so sleeping on the lower bunk was more convenient for them. Plus, the communal kitchen is excellent and you can even cook there. If you have more money, you could book one of the detached private rentals next door. We went in January, which is peak season; February might be even more expensive. The private rentals were five times the price of this place. I think this hostel is a much better value, and it's in a prime location. It's also super convenient if you're taking InterCity as it drops you right at the hotel entrance.

JJulesTClean, tidy, and generally comfortable stay. The room was quite compact, but there was just enough space to store and open large suitcases, and there are heavy drawers under the bed for storage (no lock provided). The building itself is narrow and compact, with quite a few stairs required to access the kitchen, bathrooms, lounge areas, and some rooms, which may be inconvenient for those with heavy luggage or limited mobility. Our ground-floor room was directly below the shower units, and with thin walls, noise from water running, footsteps, and street traffic (as it’s centrally located on a main road) was noticeable. Light sleepers may find this disruptive. Facilities are good, with two shared kitchens (stovetops, toaster, microwave, kettle, fridge, cutlery, and crockery), indoor and balcony seating areas, and a large lounge (TV plays DVDs only). There are multiple shared unisex bathrooms, including single units and a space with two showers and toilets. This may not suit everyone. Cleaned in the morning but gets dirty by end of day. On a positive, there are plenty of bath mats, liquid soap, and a hair dryer are provided. Laundry is available via QR code payment (around $6 per wash or dry), and on-site parking is offered at $40 per night. Towel available for hire ($4). Staff super friendly.

GGuest UserThe location is convenient, just a 6-minute drive to downtown Dunedin, and within 3 minutes there are various dining options. The Botanical Garden is right next door. The room was clean and a good size, though the closet in the loft was a bit small. Going downstairs to use the restroom at night was also a bit inconvenient. Furthermore, the loft doesn't have a stove for cooking, only a microwave, and there's no drying rack for dishes and cutlery. The best part is the free self-service washer and dryer, but they can't be used after 9:00 pm.

JJulesTAt first glance, the place seems lovely and inviting. However, on closer inspection, there are quite a few maintenance issues that need attention. Several lights weren’t working (only about 2 out of 5), the carpet wasn’t as clean as it initially appeared, and there was mould in the shower. There are also signs of wear such as plastering around the sink, and the hairdryer made an unhealthy noise when used. The toilet bolts were loose, which was concerning. The bathroom lacks an extractor fan, so it becomes very steamy. The shower head is quite small with low pressure. While there is an outdoor area, it doesn’t offer much privacy as the motel is right on the road. Parking is available on-site, which is a plus, but there are no laundry facilities. There is a makeshift kitchenette with a toaster, microwave, kettle, fridge, and basic cutlery and crockery. However, it’s not suitable for cooking proper meals, and the lack of a sink makes washing up or even filling the kettle inconvenient. On the positive side, the location is excellent—right next to a New World supermarket and very central. Overall, the place is reasonably clean, tidy, and comfortable, but it would benefit from some maintenance.

TTortelliniIt’s a huge hostel in the prime part of queenstown so it’s a mixed bag on who you’ll be sharing a room with. There isn’t really anywhere to put your things in the room and need your own lock for the small safety cabinets, and sharing 2-4 outlets with everyone in the room, but it’s clean and the bed is fine.

GGuest UserOverall, this accommodation was excellent and exceeded our expectations. The unit was very spacious, well-maintained, and spotlessly clean upon arrival, which immediately made us feel comfortable and at ease. The layout was practical and suitable for both short and longer stays, with ample space to move around and relax. One of the biggest advantages was how easy the place was to locate. Clear directions and a convenient location made check-in smooth and stress-free, especially after a long journey. The surrounding area was also quiet and pleasant, allowing for a restful stay. Cleanliness was clearly a priority, from the rooms to the common areas, which we truly appreciated. Overall, this accommodation offers great comfort, convenience, and value. We would definitely recommend it to others and would not hesitate to stay here again in the future.

GGuest UserThe hotel is located in the city center, only 5 minutes walk to the First Church and about 10 minutes to the train station. Parking is convenient and there are many places to eat. When checking in, there is no front desk and you have to call. The hotel is old but very clean. The elevator is too old and a bit scary. I bought bread for breakfast at the supermarket. There are bowls and basins.
