The atmosphere is nice, and they offer cocktails and beer. However, the room is a bit small; it's hard to find space to walk around once you open two 24-inch suitcases. The table isn't big either, barely fitting two takeout meals. It's very noisy; the door provides almost no sound insulation. You can hear people talking and swiping key cards in the hallway even in the early morning. There are a lot of foreigners, so if you want to experience that kind of vibe, this place is a good choice. It's very close to Chunxi Road, about a ten-minute walk, and there's a market downstairs where you can buy local specialties and fruit.

very nice place. The area is not crowded and very close to the lake. they have one bike to rent for 15 rmb per day, which makes it convenient for solo travellers. Additionally, they have a common kitchen fully equipped that costs 10 rmb to use. It's really nice for making breakfast or coffee. They have coffee filters and pour over equipment if you fancy it. The room is clean, and there are plenty common space to hang out, and there are washing machines on the top floor with soap. Highly recommend this place!

Fabulous hostel, i loved it. All wood made, this place offers all a backpacker may need (various cleaning soaps, loudry, drinking hot water, board games ,etc.). Super clean, the dorm is large with window. Plagues and bed light. No heating but an electric planket keeps dreams warm and cozy. Running hot water. Amazing common spaces inside and outside with breathtaking view on the surrounding of Kangding. The host, very gentle and friendly, speaks good english and has two cute and fun cats. My staying there was too short but very pleasant.

I had such a comfortable stay in the four-person dorm at Backpackers Ten Years Hostel on Chunxi Road in Chengdu this time! The location is truly unbeatable. It's super close to Chunxi Road, making it incredibly convenient for shopping and visiting attractions. Subway and bus stops are also easy to find, which is perfect for anyone wanting to explore all of Chengdu. The four-person dorm was clean and tidy, and the beds were very comfortable. The bedding had a subtle, fresh scent, completely avoiding the usual messy feeling of multi-person dorms. Each bunk had its own curtain and charging port, showing great attention to both privacy and convenience, which I really appreciated. The common areas were also well-maintained, with a lounge and a kitchen. It was lively chatting with friends from all over the world – the atmosphere was fantastic. The staff, both the guys and girls, were incredibly friendly and helpful, answering all my questions and even recommending Chengdu's best food and travel routes. They made me feel very welcome. The value for money is excellent too. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Chengdu!

After checking in at the front desk, you can store your luggage and shoes, pick up slippers and your room card, then head to your room. **Facilities:** There's a lounge area, dining area, balcony, and a bar where you can choose to have dinner in the evening. **Accommodation:** The lodging is separated by gender. The women's section has independent washing machines, dryers, garment steamers, and a vanity room. The vanity room even has curling irons and straighteners! Each bed has its own locker that can be opened with your room card. The room also has a full-length mirror. The bed is incredibly comfortable, and the air conditioning keeps it wonderfully cool. There were even candies by the bedside. It truly feels perfect for women – safe, comfortable, and even smells nice! For dinner, you can choose to eat with everyone and play board games; it's quite lively! The cat has good boundaries. If you pet it, it'll play with you, but if you don't touch it, it'll keep its distance 🥰

Here's my review of the Chengdu Backpacker Ten Years Hostel (Branch 1): 👏Pros: 1. The atmosphere is genuinely great. The ground floor feels like a small bar where you can grab food and juice, and there’s a professional singer playing guitar. 2. The public area on the second floor is fantastic. It's cleverly designed with separate quiet and lively zones, divided by glass. There's a pool table, a board game room, and excellent areas for working or studying. 3. The decor is lovely, from the corridors to the rooms and especially the bathrooms, which are excellent. They provide disposable toilet seat covers and tissues, and all toilets are Western-style. 4. Step out of the hostel’s ground floor entrance, and you’re right on a street bustling with various eateries. Plenty of delicious food options, very convenient. 5. They offer a free bottle of mineral water, thick bath towels, and slippers. 6. The room itself is very quiet. 🙌Cons: 1. Toiletries are not provided and must be purchased if needed. 2. The room was cluttered with items belonging to long-term guests. 3. Long-term guests hung their wet clothes in the room, and some had an unpleasant smell. 4. The bathroom floor drain was slow, causing water to pool on the floor. When showering, my feet would be constantly in standing water. Also, the shower head holder was loose, so it kept sagging, making showering difficult. The clothes in the bathroom were hung on the door behind a waterproof curtain, but the curtain was perhaps too long and touched the floor, soaking up a lot of water at the bottom. When I pulled the curtain aside to grab my clothes after showering, they fell directly onto the wet floor. 5. The front desk staff lacked a proactive service mindset. I had a large suitcase, and there were steps and a glass door to navigate. Several staff members watched me struggle without offering any help. 6. There was an issue with the centralized shoe lockers. My small locker compartment was occupied by someone else's shoes, indicating shoes were left haphazardly. Shoes were also allowed into the rooms. The centralized shoe lockers didn't have locks, and many people left their shoes on top of the lockers or under the shoe-changing bench. The shoe-changing area had a strong, unpleasant odor of shoes and socks, making it difficult to breathe. 7. Long-term stays can only be paid for through online platforms; there are no discounts, and offline payment isn't an option! (Of course, I understand this might be due to platform rules). 8. The room's Wi-Fi speed wasn't great. Sending a message (especially a screenshot) in the bathroom took several seconds to go through. Backpackers, for such a big brand, can you please upgrade your Wi-Fi speed? It's worse than some hostels costing around 30-40 yuan. 9. The light wire above the bed was poorly repaired and protruded unsightly! It just dangled there; it should be tucked away better! ☘️Final thoughts: I sincerely hope Backpacker Ten Years continues to improve. Management should thoroughly inspect the hostel's services and facilities for the owner. Otherwise, some minor issues might go unnoticed for a long time if guests don't point them out! After all, you are a nationally renowned hostel, known as the 'ceiling' of the hostel industry! You should live up to the affection people have for you and your 'hostel ceiling' reputation! I look forward to improvements, and I hope to visit again!

Service: The hotel provides individual toiletries, slippers, earplugs, and a bottle of mineral water for each guest. Environment: The hotel exterior has a very artistic vibe. The first floor is a public dining and lounge area, and there's also a small art gallery. Right outside, you'll find the old residential area in downtown Chengdu, making life very convenient. Facilities: The men's dorm restroom has a washing machine and sinks, with separate toilet stalls. The shared large shower cubicles are all equipped with shower gel and shampoo. There's also a communal drying area. Each bunk pod has coat hooks and power outlets. Entry is via an automatic door activated by a key card. At the entrance, there are shoe cabinets for changing shoes, with each small locker clearly marked with its corresponding bunk number. However, there are a few drawbacks: the men's restroom floor is slippery and quite dirty inside. The ladders for the bunk beds are poorly designed, making it inconvenient to climb up and down. The curtain pull cords are also not very smooth, often getting stuck and making a loud noise when pulled. The hard curtains easily hit the metal railings and wooden frame of the pod, which can disturb those who are resting.

I absolutely loved my stay at this hostel in the heart of Chengdu! It has a fantastic, cozy, and family-like atmosphere because it never feels overly packed or crowded. It’s incredibly easy to chat and make new friends over a couple of beers. Plus, I even got a free room upgrade! The facilities are great. They have western toilets, and the daily housekeeping keeps everything spotlessly clean. A huge shoutout to the manager, Helena, who goes above and beyond to help you with absolutely everything. Highly recommend!

Fine overall (after switching rooms). Booked the 4-person room only to get noisy snorers, one at a time. A little too intimate for my taste as I was constantly being talked to otherwise because we were the only 2 in that room. Next time I’d go for a larger group room or one just for myself. I ended up switching to a single-person room due to the outlandish snoring (the whole bunk was shaking). Location is pretty far from any subway station and people smoke in the elevator and stairways (no surprise there). Staff was always nice and accommodating.

The emplacement is rather nice, it's in a narrow street that allows for a more peaceful environment. If you want to call taxis though, they won't get in, you will have to walk to the bigger road (very close by) To get to the reception, you will have to climb stairs. If you get a room with shared toilets, just be sure you can handle squat toilets. The walls are rather thin but earplugs are being provided. The shared shower area only has heads that can't be moved from the wall. The shared room has thin mattresses, if you can't handle it, I would recommend a private room instead. If the room is full of luggage, it's possible to put some under the bed.

Nnikoniko87✅ **Prime Location** Right next to Wenshu Monastery, within walking distance; close to the subway, making Chunxi Road and Kuanzhai Alley instantly accessible. The area is packed with authentic local eateries. The staff even kindly showed me the way to some hidden local gems! ✅ **Utmost Comfort** The room was clean and tidy, with super soft bedding. The en-suite bathroom had a dry/wet separation, making for a truly relaxing stay. ✅ **Amazing Atmosphere** During the day, there's free coffee in the American-style common area – quiet and therapeutic. In the evening, it transforms into a bar with live music, perfect for a chill drink! Loads of international guests create a great social vibe. Every day, you can meet new friends and discover new stories ✨

AAnonymous UserThe location of the hostel is very good, but the cleanliness was terrible. There were literally mushrooms growing near the sink in the bathroom. On top of that, I had a horrible experience with another guest in my dorm. When I arrived, she approached me wagging her finger like she was lecturing a child, demanding the room door stay open for fresh air because she disliked perfume (even though the AC was running). The next day, she flung the door wide open even tho she saw me getting dressed, which led to an argument. The night before my checkout, between 10 PM and 1 AM, she opened the door 3 times. When I woke up past midnight due to her noise, she was loudly complaining and slammed the door open. I was mad and immediately closed it and told her in English to be quiet. She grabbed my arm and tried to push me aside to open the door, while shouting at me and saying in English that this is a public room. She went to the reception to complain about me. The staff immediately blamed and accused me of spraying perfume in the middle of the night without even asking for my side of the story. Later, it turned out I hadn't sprayed anything. Although the staff eventually apologized, the way the situation was handled was completely unprofessional and unacceptable.

GGuest UserI stayed at Chengdu XiangPi Inn for one night (April 14–15, 2026) and booked a bed in the 6-person male-only shared room. Overall, it was a solid budget-friendly option, but there are a few things worth noting depending on what you’re looking for. The biggest plus is definitely the price—you get exactly what you pay for, and for a short stay it does the job. The room itself was fairly basic but functional. The bed was decent enough for one night, and the space didn’t feel overly cramped despite having multiple occupants. That said, privacy is minimal, as expected in a shared dorm setup. Cleanliness was okay, though not perfect. The shared bathroom was usable but could have been maintained a bit better, especially during busier hours. If you’re particular about hygiene, this is something to keep in mind. The atmosphere was quiet enough when I stayed, and most guests were respectful, which made it easier to rest. Staff interactions were limited but smooth—check-in and check-out were straightforward without any issues. Overall, Chengdu XiangPi Inn is a practical choice if you’re traveling on a tight budget and just need a place to sleep for a night or two. It’s not luxurious, but it’s functional and reasonably comfortable for short stays.

NNadia D.I enjoyed so much this hostel that i extended my staying. Good position close to the metro (4) station. In the nearby a lot of different possibilities for street food and supermarket (just across the street). Bed comfortable and clean with bed plague and light. No street noise. Numerous toilets and showers with all kind of needs: soap, shampoo, hairdryer and even hand laundry soap. Hot running water. Common spaces are plenty and cozy in the inside and in the beautiful patio on the outside. Top note for all the staff: friendly, gentle, smiley and helpful with sufficient English spoken. I spent a pleasant time here.
