Hotel near Xinjiekou Area/Presidential Palace,Nanjing
"This hostel is perfect for young people with all sorts of games available. The rooms are quite spacious, and you won't be disturbed by other guests. The environment is good, and the rooms are clean. The women's restroom is okay, but when showering, water flows out of the shower stall and into the rest of the bathroom, which is inconvenient for those using the toilet. This could definitely be improved. Other than that, everything was fine. When I booked the hostel, I read some reviews saying that there was a KTV nearby and that sleeping could be an issue, but I didn't experience any loud noise. It's very close to Xinjiekou Metro Station Exit 15, and below Exit 1, there are many bars and arcades. Mingwalam is also nearby. It's not too far from Nanjing Railway Station by metro. Most importantly, I'm very satisfied because I think it's hard to find such an affordable hostel in Xinjiekou."

Suzhou is a beautiful and charming city that welcomes friends from all over the world. We also welcome partners from all over the world and look forward to your arrival.

"This was the best hostel I stayed at during my trip! The location is super convenient, close to the subway and shopping areas, so finding my way around was a breeze. The cleanliness was the biggest surprise – rooms and bathrooms were cleaned regularly every day. Each bed came with a blackout curtain, individual charging port, and a small night light. Drawing the curtain created a private little space, perfect even for introverts. The owner and front desk staff were incredibly thoughtful; they helped me plan my itinerary, recommended local eateries, and offered free luggage storage. The common lounge was spacious, with a washing machine, water dispenser, and sofas for relaxing. My dorm mates were all quiet and respectful, so I had no trouble sleeping at night. It's truly rare to find such high quality in budget accommodation."

"THE BEST [FEMALE] HOSTEL TO EXIST!!! It has everything a girl needs, super clean, smells great, quiet, just feels like a girls sleepover where everyone are strangers. The employees are very kind that they will try to explain in English if you're not Chinese speaker, but do understand not very fluent, but very informative already. They would tour you around the whole hostel explaining everything so you have a smooth staycation even if it's a day. There are rules for follow, which is understandable on why it's the cleanest managed hostel. You would need to make your own bed, it took a while, but if unable you can always ask the receptionist to help, so don't be scared to ask for help, it took me 10min because it was just sheets with limited space. Before check out, you would need to strip the sheets and put it in the basket indicated outside. You do only get a disposable towel and toothbrush and toothpaste, so make sure to bring your towel if staying many nights. Bathrooms are spacious, I've never seen such big bottles are body wash and shampoo ever, very generous and smells nice. You have a section to blowdry your hair with a mirror, as well as comb and hair brush if needed. Detergent is included in a paid laundry service. You can either air dry or use dryer, lots of hangers to use. There are designated makeup areas to get ready with mirrors that has lights. The common room: there are plenty of chairs and tables to use, or using the couch near the projector is an option. Sometimes they play a drama on the projector and sometimes it's quiet. The kitchen is located near the receptionist and in common room. You have a fridge, microwave, water dispenser (both hot and warm), cutlery, plates, bowls are available, tea bags, every night they have a plate of fruit which you can eat too. One thing I love is the locker space, normally you get a small locker which wouldn't really fit a cabin suitcase in, but this one, you can fit 2 cabin suitcase that is how big the locker is, so nice, and there is a rack in there too. Very spacious. Rooms are very spacious too. Bed is nice firm, not on the soft side if you prefer soft bed, pillow is a bit cloudy soft, but still ok. Location is great too, located around plenty of foods, few minute walk from the metro station. There's a McDonald next door too. Definitely coming back here if I'm in Nanjing alone next time."

"This hostel changed the idea I had of a great hostel! SEE OTHER REVIEWS FOR COMPREHENSIVE UNDERSTANDING CHECK-IN/STAFF: Simple & easy. There is a language barrier with most of the staff, but it's nothing a little patience, on both ends, and a translator can't fix. I was helped to my room with my bags. I personally enjoyed the staff and especially one of the cleaning ladies. She was truly a joy to see every day and seemed like she genuinely liked seeing me. They helped when my food order had issues, twice. I was helped getting I was running late for my train on check-out morning. ROOMS/FACILITIES: Comfortable, clean and curtain for the beds. I the rooms are reasonably spacious. The average person follows the general quiet in the rooms so you can sleep peacefully any time you want. The blanket is thick, some beds have extra little hooks. (Would be nice if they added them for all beds) Pillows are decent, towel and locker provided. Beds have North American & Chinese style plugs. The entire outlet system of the building seems to be that way. AMENITIES/GOOD TO KNOW Laundry detergent, toothbrush/toothpaste individually wrapped units and earplugs provided at no cost. Towel/bed sheet change upon request is offered if stay is 3+ days. The main lobby toilets are used buy restaurants guests from next door. The is security at night (not personally for the hostel, for the alley) Private homes are across the way so keep the volume low to quiet after 10pm. OVERALL/PERSONAL THOUGHTS ” I would recommend staying here for a short or long period. Excellent valut for dollars. I felt very welcomed, comfortable & overall relaxed. My only real complaint is the lack of fridge, microwave and a sink area. As a budget traveler it can get costly having to order or go out for every meal is super inconvenient. To be fair, you can ask for your items to be placed in the staff fridge at the bar. The downside is having to wait and ask for staff to get it for me. This was super frustrating when I wanted my food and had to wait about 20 minutes for someone to finally be able to do it. Not to mention the general inconvenience of not being able to go to a fridge at will. Even though there's a laundry area upstairs, many people will do laundry in the sinks leaving the bathroom floors constantly wet and countertops soaked. Not management's fault but could possibly be addressed in the rules. There are days where a gentleman will come sit outside the hostel or the general alley area with Barky McBarkerson his incredibly annoying dog that's constantly barking at everyone and everything. When they're directly on the property hanging out infront don't even think of enjoying the fresh air peacefully . I think there's a way for management to address bothersome behavior to their guest. IMO if management could somehow provide a common fridge and a microwave, they would be close to top tier hostel all things considered. Review based on multiple stays. Enjoy"

Transportation around the city is also convenient, with Shi Lu Metro Station within walking distance. This hotel is located near many of Suzhou's attractions including Shantang Kunqu Opera House, Suzhou Qilishantang Scenic Area Baijian Building and Yiyuan Garden. "Facilities: Very good! The beds are sturdy, and there's no noise when you turn over. The bathrooms are all-in-one with shower curtains behind the shower doors, so you don't have to worry about getting your clothes wet even if you walk in fully dressed. 😄😄😄 There are three washing machines and three dryers, so you don't have to wait long. Cleanliness: The bed sheets and duvet covers were very clean. I stayed for several days, and they cleaned my room and even seemed to change the bed curtain when I extended my stay today. Environment: It's close to the Line 2 subway station. There's a small shop across the street downstairs, and plenty of food options nearby and in the basement. Service: It was my first time staying in a hostel, and I didn't know my way around, but they kindly showed me the way. An auntie was also cleaning the common areas at 8 PM, so the service attitude is excellent. Staying at this hostel made me feel like I was back in college. There's a pool table in the lobby, and people play board games and such, creating a great atmosphere. There's a small stage with a guitar, but maybe there weren't any musician-singers staying here, as no one sang during my entire stay. 😂 Things I think could be improved: 1. The handle on the upper bunk bed by the wall near the door is not easy to use. It could be wider or have an increased grip area. 2. The laundry prices are a bit high. Aside from just spinning, the cheapest wash is 5 yuan. It could be lowered a bit. The dryer prices, however, are quite reasonable. 3. The speed of issuing invoices. I just remembered that I could participate in a lottery with an invoice. I'm not in a hurry for it, but if someone needs it for reimbursement, getting an invoice here might be slow."

"Hostel is easy to find! Excellent location, metro very near, nice quiet street (and rooms are quiet too), loads of eating places right at door, and easy walk to the main tourist areas. Good light in the large ground floor common area (rear area has better AC).  Some kind of cafe setup but didn't seem to operate. dorm beds with curtain, light , international power outlet , aircon , locker safe for each bed; shower and toilet in dorm. This hostel is good, and can run a lot better with standard procedures/info, and some key signs in english. I don't expect staff to speak english (just as I can't speak chinese) but a laminated 1 page sheet in english could readily cover everything, instead of little info and then some gesturing: the different wifi networks, checkout steps, what is the deal with the cafe/fridge, how to exit door before desk is staffed in morning. For example, in the laundry the english sign was really useful, and told me that there was a drying space outside 1 of the windows. fire safety is poor: on each floor the stair doors are open (without auto release) meaning that fire smoke would rise uncontrolled and block escape path."

"I rarely find hostels like this; it was so comfortable and reassuring 😭 The hostel owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, making me feel almost embarrassed. She spoke so gently and thoughtfully, making me feel right at home. I chatted with her for a long time; she even lent me her umbrella when she mentioned it might rain, and offered me fruit from the table. She also recommended some good restaurants 😋. The room was spacious, incredibly clean and tidy, with a wonderful atmosphere. The cats were very friendly, and the location was great—there were breakfast stalls right outside, giving it a lively, local feel. It was a very comfortable stay, truly the best trip I've ever had. I'll definitely come back if I have the chance! I hope the hostel owner recognizes me then, hahaha~"

GGuest UserQuite a good place to stay the first few days, the lady there gave me a banana and free breakfast on the first day as I usually leave the place early. However, the last night there was absolutely horrendous. I am not sure who was smoking in the public space and there was a nauseating strong smell of smoke all over the place, if you leave your room door open the smell will be in your room too. I had to quickly go to the toilet if not the smell would be on my clothes. If it was not late at night, I would have found myself another place to stay. I think there can be stricter control on no smoking in an enclosed space like hostel, this person is extremely inconsiderate. He/she can go outside to smoke instead. The female toilet sink was also so rusty and they should fix it. A good thing is they provide shampoo and body wash. To me it is just a place to wash up and sleep, is acceptable for budget solo travellers but I will not stay here again due to the bad experience with the smoke.

However I recommend bringing some mosquito repellent with you, because I got bitten during the night and it was so itchy 🥹
