"Overall, a pretty good experience, especially for students on a budget who don't want to travel back to Shenzhen for the night. The common areas offer cups, drinking water, and hot water, plus free WiFi and universal adapters. Each bed comes with sockets that can accommodate both 2-pin and 3-pin Chinese plugs. If you have any issues, the handsome owner is always quick to respond! ❤️ The location is also easy to find, very close to Jordan MTR station and in the bustling Yau Tsim Mong district. Temple Street is right downstairs with lots of delicious food, and many old local eateries nearby are tasty and affordable. 😋"

"This hotel is located in Mirador Mansion, right next to Chungking Mansions, making it very convenient for getting around. It seems to be run by a martial arts studio. For tourists who spend all day exploring and just need a place to shower, charge their devices, and sleep at night, it's perfectly sufficient. It has a private bathroom and air conditioning, and it's quieter and easier to sleep in than a typical hostel. Just remember to bring your own disposables like bath towels and slippers, and a universal adapter. It's a great value-for-money option for an overnight stay in Tsim Sha Tsui."

"The location is fantastic! Ancasa Hotel is right across from Kowloon Park, on Tsim Sha Tsui's main thoroughfare. But then again, nothing in Hong Kong is really far. On the day of check-in, the hotel sends room and password details via Trip.com. If the front desk isn't staffed at night, you can self-check-in. All rooms have keypads. The soundproofing is decent. I woke up in the middle of the night and heard two men chatting right outside my door... even with the door closed, I could still hear a little, but they stopped making noise later. The bathroom is shared, with two shower stalls and two toilets, and three sinks. It's shared by two rooms, and I never had to wait. Honestly, the occupancy rate of shared bathrooms in mixed-gender hostels seems to be lower. 😂 There are bed curtains, but you need to bring your own UK adapter. No drinking water is provided. The view from the room window is quite nice."

"This was my first time staying in a hostel, and even though I was in a twin room rather than a bunk bed, I still experienced a wonderful sense of community. Before checking in, a car accident on the way to Shenzhen Bay Port caused a nearly three-hour traffic jam, making me miss the hostel's stated latest check-in time and the shuttle bus. So, I had to walk up the hill. However, after communicating with the staff that evening, they still waited for us and very warmly helped us check in and explained the hostel facilities. (P.S. When we mentioned to the front desk staff that a taxi had refused to take us up the mountain, two aunties expressed their sympathy and pointed out that Hong Kong drivers shouldn't do that and that we could file a complaint. They advised that next time, we should get in the taxi first before stating our destination to avoid such issues. Although one of the aunties spoke Cantonese, which I didn't fully understand at first, her demeanor showed she was definitely a kind person). The hostel room's outlets came with both Type-C and USB ports, which was incredibly convenient for travelers from mainland China. The hostel's view is also exceptional. At night, you can see the Victoria Harbour skyline, and from a distance, you can even catch a glimpse of Disneyland's fireworks (unfortunately, it rained that day so I didn't see them). The facilities are also very comprehensive. If you're hungry, you can cook something in the restaurant yourself (just remember to wash up afterward). Although the toilets and showers are shared, the privacy is well-maintained. There are a few tables in the open-air plaza, where social guests can experience hostel culture, and if the weather's good, people often play board games there. If I ever visit Hong Kong again, this hostel will definitely be my first choice. When leaving, the same warm auntie who helped us check in bid us farewell and invited us to return, bringing the experience full circle. I'm so glad my first hostel experience was with this place, and I'm very grateful for the excellent stay it provided."

"Very convenient location near the subway, there's a 7/11 aroundthe corner and many restaurants to choose from. The bed was great but lacked a pillow and even if it was 30°C outside the room didn't feel too hot. The showers were ok but it's difficult to close the doors. Late check-in was accepted after communication on wechat. Slippers are available. Overall a great experience, would book again."

Hotel near Islands District,Hong Kong
YHA Ngong Ping Davis Youth Hostel is located on the high plains east of Ngong Ping, Lantau Island. It is a must-see for those who love Chinese history and culture and those who like to climb mountains. The hostel is far away from the hustle and bustle of the city and is also suitable for those who love nature and enjoy the quiet countryside. The famous Tian Tan Buddha, Po Lin Monastery and Heart Sutra Forest are all within easy reach. The Phoenix Mountain facing the hostel is 934 meters above sea level and is a great place to watch the sunrise (it takes 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach the top). If you want to stroll around Ngong Ping Market or try the Ngong Ping Cable Car, the journey will only take a few dozen minutes. The hostel is currently open seven days a week. Members are kindly requested to make reservations in advance. From Tung Chung: Take bus No. 23 from Tung Chung Bus Terminal to Ngong Ping Bus Terminal and walk towards Po Lin Monastery. At Po Lin Monastery, follow the path on the left side of the old public toilet and follow the hostel sign for about 5 to 10 minutes to reach the hostel.

"Depends on your purpose for visiting this area, you may or may not find this hostel convenient. I chose this hostel solely because I planned to check out Tai O and do an early morning hike up Lantau Peak. There’s actually not much in the area except the Giant Buddha, the beautiful monastery, and the Wisdom Path if you choose to include it. This is the only hotel/hostel in the area. There’s no supermarket or convenience store nearby, so I highly suggest bringing plenty of food and drinks before arriving. You might also want to bring your own slippers! The hostel has a water purifier, hot and cold showers, a microwave, fridge, a spacious kitchen, and other essentials. I didn’t cook during my stay—I bought food from Tai O instead. Nonetheless, it was super convenient for me since I like to go slow and enjoy things at my own pace. Note that a membership fee of 150 HKD is required, and there’s also a refundable deposit of 500 HKD, unless you damage something on the property. Karen and Mark were super nice—I had a great chat with both of them!"

Wow, I was really impressed by the thoughtful touches the moment I walked in! For a central Hong Kong location, this hostel offers pretty good value for money. I did my homework before coming (once in Spain, I didn't plan ahead and almost got pickpocketed!). While Hong Kong's streets and alleys are narrow and prices are high, the experience here is much better than the guesthouses I stayed at in Korea and Japan. I can even say this in my (bad) Cantonese – I'm a huge TVB fan! The transportation is super convenient; just take the elevator from Tsim Sha Tsui Exit D1 directly to the 13th floor, and the front desk is right there (it's very noticeable, and the chubby guy at the front desk is quite cute). I carefully checked my booking details before arriving and contacted the hostel 48 hours in advance, so the self-check-in process was incredibly smooth and easy. The building itself is a very typical Hong Kong commercial-residential building, making you feel like you're on a TVB set – it has so much character! I'd definitely come back again if I have the chance! The only minor regret is that the Mixue Ice Cream & Tea (bubble tea shop) across the street closed down, and other bubble tea places are a bit pricey – Hong Kong is quite expensive, haha. Highly recommend!

I really enjoyed my stay here! It was especially cool for me to stay in this particular building because it's where the famous movie 'Chungking Express' was filmed. That alone makes the place special and gives it a unique vibe. The room was clean, cozy, and equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The air conditioning worked perfectly and kept the room cool, which was especially important in the hot and humid weather. I also want to give a special shout-out to the host. He was very welcoming, friendly, and always ready to help. Check-in was quick, and I was even able to check in earlier than the set time.

Hi this is specific place you have to be aware of that. Building is full of hostels. Every flor is different hostel. There is no name of hostel on the board. You have to go directly to 16th floor. In rush hour you will have to wait a bit for a lift, but generally I am aware for the price you can expect to much. Big advantage is clean room even though surroundings might say something else. The worst for us was fact that hostel lie in information provided for trip. Rooms doesn’t have 14 square meters , maximum is half of that. We should get room with another view. Generally for the price in Hong Kong it’s ok but do not be fool by information provided by hotel on Trip.com. If you are backpacker then I think you can manage but I will not recommend it for families or couples. What’s more we get room at 6th floor, Water drops from the air conditioners on higher floors were dripping onto our AC unit all night, so unfortunately, we couldn't get a good night's sleep.

The hotel's location is excellent. It's just a short walk from the A21 airport bus stop, and you can easily catch the bus to the airport from right around the corner. It's right in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui, with the MTR station just a few steps away, making dining and shopping incredibly convenient. Victoria Harbour is also just a short stroll ahead. The hotel owner, his wife, and the staff are all incredibly nice. I arrived early and, seeing how hot it was, decided to rest a bit before heading out. To my surprise, the front desk staff allowed me to check in early! Furthermore, when I was out on an errand and ended up checking out over an hour late, the owner was very understanding and kindly extended my check-out time. In a place like Hong Kong, where every inch is precious, this was a pleasant and unexpected surprise. The owner and staff are genuinely kind and humane, which is truly rare 🌹🌹. The room was very clean, though a bit small, and had no strange odors. Plus, the outlets didn't require an adapter, which was super convenient for me as a traveler from mainland China, especially since I'd forgotten mine. All in all, this is a hotel with a human touch, an exceptionally good location, and excellent cleanliness. I'll definitely stay here again next time. Thank you to the owner and staff!

Relatively easy to get to, with easy communication with the Guesthouse owners. The location is great- right in front of the Kowloon mosque which was great for us, indicating availability of halal food nearby. Within walking distance of the mtr, tourist attractions and shops (7e is right below). We took the Cityliner from the airport and got dropped off at the nearest stop which was great! Room was super tight, with small bathroom with a shower head right above the toilet. The toilet doors required some manoeuvring because it could close but was somewhat disconnected from each sliding panel (with evidence of some bugs stuck between the panels, I can understand, in rather hard to reach places).Otherwise, clean enough room and very quiet. Enough space under the beds to store luggage but otherwise, just enough space around the room for a single person to walk about, so we had to take turns and mostly sat on our beds. For very short stays, seems like a good place.

I've booked here many times. They clean thoroughly every day, so it's much cleaner than the other hostels I've stayed at here in Hong Kong. There's water and a kettle available outside of the rooms. While the owner and workers are quite accommodating, they only really speak Cantonese and Mandarin, so just be prepared for that.
