La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Texas City I-45

Service was very good, breakfast was OK, amenities like the bar being closed since covid is easing up should've been open, not like there would be a large crowd in there. Breakfast should be open longer than 9am due to folks like to sleep in on vacation, and where breakfast is offered, should be able to get some when they get up!!! More assorted quick breakfast, like muffins (only had blueberry both days we were there). Coffee in the room could be more plentiful, (only had 1 packet of regular coffee for 2 people for 2 days) 3 packets of decaf otherwise. All said and done, the beds were comfy and the ac worked quite well. Thanks for taking pets too! Enjoyed our stay and will come again.

This hotel is very clean. The hotel staff is great! Breakfast is included. You can make your own fresh pancakes! This hotel is only a 10 minute drive to the Galveston Cruise Terminal. There are several nice restaurants nearby. I recommend going to a Chinese buffet called Yum Yum. Really good food!

Very clean room. The management is updating the hotel and it shows. Pleasant staff. Clean quiet room. Disappointed that indoor hot tub was out of service. We are going down to same area in Oct 2024, called to see if hot tub was working and desk clerk said it probably wouldn't be. So we are staying somewhere else. They should update their amenities on the website. Other than that ,I would recommend this hotel. We did not eat complimentary breakfast so can't comment on that.

The cleanliness and peacefulness of the location made up for the shortcomings of the staff. We’ve stayed at IHG locations around the country for years and have never experienced what happened at this location. Upon check in the front desk worker was polite, but seemed very confused. We were handed keys to room 218, went up and opened the door to find two people already sleeping in the room. I felt so bad for the guests who were already in there. Keep in mind it was after midnight on a Wednesday. The front desk could only repeat to me that he had no idea how that happened. After about 20 minutes of stumbling through making new room keys, we made our way to our new room in hopes of it not being occupied. Breakfast was fair. The morning crew was much more attentive than the night crew. I surely hope the couple in the room we intruded on were offered a substantial discount for that mistake.

Check in was great. We checked in around 9:30 on June 18. The gentleman in front of us was having issues but the young lady working the front desk was great and patient. Once we got checked in, we got a small gift bag for being a rewards member. Our room was comfy and clean with great A/C. The gym, thankfully was cold, clean, and large. The only minor complaint is the center treadmill was off balance and I had to get off and switch to another one. Would stay here again.

The desk clerk was very nice when we arrived early. I only wanted to ask when check in time would be since my reservation printout didn't say, and he said he would have us a room ready in about an hour to an hour and a half. We went to have lunch while we waited, and returned an hour and a half later. We had a smoking room and of course had to lug all of our cruise luggage up to the 2nd floor around back. As soon as we get into any room I like to wipe down all the tables, chairs, commonly touched surfaces like faucet handles, doorknobs, light switches, the remote etc... Never thought I'd need to start wiping down bathroom doorframes with the bleach wipes until this place. I know that housekeepers are rushed to clean these rooms, but how on earth do you miss feces smeared all over the bathroom door frame, both at sitting and standing level is beyond me. There is even ridge detail in the adult sized fingerprint! There were long hairs all over the tub, toilet, and sink area. There was hair in the fridge and on every towel in the room. The reservation was non refundable and it was biker weekend so no other rooms were available for over 100 miles that wouldn't cost us several hundred for 1 night. They refreshingly don't have roaches, but we will not be staying here again.
