Comfort Inn & Suites at Stone Mountain
3.5/598 Reviews
I booked Comfort Inn through *********** due to its proximity to Stone Mountain and other attractions we were interested in.I was a little hesitant after some of the reviews, but figured we were not going to be there very much, and I've stayed in some pretty rough places. After staying here for 4 nights, I legitimately only have a few minor complaints. This hotel is old and tired, in need of a desperate renovation, but that did not take away from the comfort of it. Had some of the more comfortable hotel beds I've ever slept on, and floors were quiet, which provided a restful nights sleep. My biggest complaint is that I canceled a different hotel because *********** stated it had a 100$ Security Deposit, this one did not have one listed. To my surprise, at check-in, right on the counter, there was a paper that stated a 100$ refundable security deposit was required...so that was a little disappointing. The pool area looked nice but was under maintenance for our entire stay. The breakfast was a normal contentintal hotel breakfast. One review stated its hard to find...I wouldn't necessarily say it's hard to find...just a bit of a inconvenience as there is only 1 direction in and one direction out...you can only turn right out of the hotel and have to basically make the block to go anywhere. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The housekeepers serviced our room every two days... but would give us fresh towels anytime we asked. The staff upgraded the door locks during our stay, they let us know up front that they were going to be doing this, that once it was done, we would need to get a new key....so we did so...but we were only given one key due to them not having many of the new key cards. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, while the place could use a good updating and maybe a little painting and cleaning. We would consider staying here again.

The property looked good as we arrived, the lobby was clean and had no smell that caught my attention. The meeting with the person behind the counter was pleasant and comfortable and I was pleasantly surprised. Unpacking my car in parking lot, I noticed the parking lot was clean and quiet, but we arrived at nearly 10pm so it might have been that most people were already sleeping. The sleeping room was clean and had no smell that caught my attention. The bed was very comfortable and smelled like fresh linens. The water facilities were clean, had good pressure, and gave no issues, except that the shower door didn't want to stay closed, it kept sliding open and because of this the floor outside the shower got extra wet. I have no idea how they would be able to fix that. I doubt every shower at this hotel has that same problem, so I do not have a negative idea of this hotel because of it. We did not get to the lobby for breakfast the next morning, so I have no opinion of it. I can add that less than a month before this, I stayed at this same hotel with my mom and had the same positive experience except that the shower door did not slide open. During that stay we did not get down to the lobby the next morning for breakfast, so I am unable to comment there. I purposefully chose this hotel the second time with the idea that the first experience was a happy one and I expected the second to be just as great. I was not disappointed. I would definitely stay here again, out of the last dozen hotels within the same price range I've stayed in over the last couple of years, this one rated highest on cleanliness, quietness, staff friendliness and cooperation.
