SpringHill Suites Greenville Downtown

We stayed here over the July 4th weekend. The hotel is in a great location and within walking distance to most downtown Greenville attractions. It is also co-located with a Residence Inn and was very busy, though the bustle generally didn't affect the service. When we arrived (after the scheduled check-in time of 4pm) our room wasn't ready, but the front desk (a Mr. Randolph) handled the delay professionally and refunded our parking due to the inconvenience. Once we checked in, the room was huge and very well appointed. The only downside to the stay involved the evening valet parking attendant who took 20-30 minutes to get our car despite there only being 2-3 retrieving cars and no guests checking in at the time. (In contrast the morning valet attendant was very quick, less than 5 minutes both times.) Although we didn't say anything, we heard from other guests that they had complained to the hotel management about the valet, and evidently the criticism had come back to him since he was surly when he brought our car and even surlier when we returned it late that evening. Apparently, he also decided to exact some petty revenge (or was absurdly careless) against us (and maybe against other guests who had complained) because the next morning, our bottle of hand sanitizer had mysteriously spilled all over the door console despite having the cap screwed on tightly the night before. Because the valet attendants are contractors rather than employees, there is little the hotel can do about them, but future guests should be forewarned. Otherwise, the hotel itself is great, and we will make this our go-to hotel for future trips to Greenville.

Had the pleasure of staying at the hotel early May. From the beginning being picked up at the Airport by Monty could tell this was a very nice place He is so friendly and full of information with a smile that goes on forever. ! We were checked in by Marion Brayboy who was available to us for our many questions during the day- always smiling and tolerant 😀. This is a nice older hotel that has conference rooms available. It also has a restaurant where the food was delicious. Marie made the dinner even better. So pleasant and accommodating to our every whim. Also there is a bar attached that has televisions so you don’t have to miss a game. Louis was also great to work with. The beds were very comfortable and for the first time in a long time the hotel pillows were great. If you’re ever headed that way, this is the place to stay.

The location of the hotel is great. The parking is nice. The building is great. The worst issue it the excessive amount of dogs. I can appreciate pets and dogs, but as someone with allergies, I am sick every time I stay at a Hilton Brand hotel. There are dogs in the lobby, lots of them. There are dogs at breakfast and in the eating areas. I was told by staff that dogs, large, small, fat, tall can be in any and every room. As a Hilton member for 20 years, I am to the point of not being able to stay at Hilton Brand hotels. The dog issue would be better if some rooms were dog-only rooms and some floors were pet-only floors. As someone with severe allergies, we should not have to stay in a room where large dogs had stayed. I am sick for a week after staying at a Hilton brand hotel. Second issue, was the rotating staff at breakfast. Every other day, the staff was nice. The opposite days, watch out. One day they ran out of milk and the lady bit the head off the man who asked to please get some more. Another man asked for coffee and she did the same to him. He slunk off and said...”I guess I will just have decaf...” Final issue, there seemed to be a large number of people staying at this location who were under some sort of state or federal subsidized program that were there staying there while having work done on their homes. While that is all well and good, these individuals tended to hoard large amounts of food at any time food was offered... one lady took five bananas, another had multiple bowls of items covered with napkins to take away... day after day after day. If you are interested in a fresh banana, you had to go into full assault mode to be able to get it before she took a handful... while we are all in this together, it is challenging when most guests are paying full price for a nice hotel stay...

The holes has lots of outside work going on. Inside was clean and room was nice. The disappointment was BREAKFAST is NOT INCLUDED. We stay at many Courtyards and most if not all include breakfast. Even there website says breakfast is included. Well, we will not be staying here again.

The hotel is clean and hygienic. The water supply was stopped from 10pm on the night we checked in to 12am the next morning. Fortunately, the hotel front desk had notified us in advance. Otherwise, we would have no water to use when we got up at 3 a.m. to catch a flight the next morning.

Perfect location and convenient to many spots from fun to food for date stays or family. My only negative would be the fact certain rooms are literally pool rooms and I witnessed two different moments where only selected parents were rudely addressed about ALL the children (even ones not with them) being loud in the pool due to complaints and was verbally informed that it was a privilege for them to be at the pool until closing which is at 11pm! Other than that being addressed incorrectly I’ll say it’s a great spot, just don’t take your kids to the pool because if they get too loud the pool will close early for “maintenance” bs!
