Holiday Inn Denver East

Nice room and lovely hotel but why do some hotels have nice balconies with not a chair anywhere to use to enjoy relaxing in the fresh air???? We pulled out a desk chair and the other oversized chair and put them out on the balcony. We chose this hotel solely because we love to sit out. Even folding chairs would have sufficed. We put the room chairs back inside before cking out but I was tempted to leave them in hopes housekeeping would alert the property for the need for chairs out there…but they have enough to do as it is. The hot tub was great! The shuttle drivers were stellar and prompt! The view from the room was lovely.

This fine old refurbished hotel in the heart of downtown Denver was fine for a three day conference. As a Bonvoy member, I used suite night credits and was upgraded to an exceptionally large and lovely suite, complete with fireplace – 1042. See photos. The suite had a large kitchen area with microwave and mini-fridge, sink, and coffee maker. No dishes, cutlery, kitchen ware, or dish soap and kitchen towels. It had a very comfortable dining room area, 4 chairs, and a spacious living room area, two closets with a functional safe, and bedroom with king bed. Blackout blinds in every room. The bed and bedding were soft and comfortable, the way I like them, and the lighting and bedside outlets were available. Bathroom has decent storage space, blow dryer, toiletries in addition to those affixed to the shower wall, and a lighted magnifying make-up mirror. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that my colleagues in the standard guest rooms had no mini-fridge. In my view, there is simply no excuse not to supply these in every hotel room. They are inexpensive to both purchase and maintain. The elevators were also a bit of an issue – we were down to 2 out of 3 with resulting longish waits, but they are pretty interesting - the original building elevators from the early 1900s. The bar serves a decent menu of breakfast, lunch and dinner choices, and the food is well prepared and presented. There is coffee available in the morning and cookies and milk in the evening in the lobby, free of charge. To a person, the staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful, from the reception staff to the servers in the restaurant, to the housekeeping and maintenance staff. Special mention goes to Cosette – she is one of the best front desk staff I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. She was quick to offer suggestions, and assistance, quick to go out of her way for you, and quick with a smile and a greeting. She’s a real credit to the hotel. All in all, would I stay at the Magnolia when in Denver again? Yes, but only if I had a room with a fridge.

Upon arrival I was greeted by a courteous and professional front desk team member who checked me in quickly and answered all my questions. He helped schedule my shuttle to the airport and the shuttle arrived and departed on time. Great experience!

Just completed a 3-night stay for business. Friendly and efficient breakfast staff, Valerio and his dining teammates kept the coffee, fresh fruit, bacon, scrambled eggs, sausages and other goodies well stocked, clean and always top notch. This Homewood Suites location shares its breakfast facilities with the Hampton Inn, but the dining room was always welcoming, calm and space was always available, thanks to the constant attention of the staff. What would make this hotel perfect, is a front desk team that likes helping guests with basic needs, such as the ability to use a printer to print boarding passes or documents. On Tuesday morning, Sept 13 at around 8:15 am, I asked the front desk staff member J. about using the business center so that I can print a document. He said, ”we closed our business center a while back, there's a computer down there (pointing to the end of the lobby) and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't...” And of course, it didn't work. I got the distinct impression that J. wasn't interested in helping me, and I was taken aback by the complete indifference. I looked for someone else to ask but it was not meant to be. Note to self: forget about the disappointing front desk service, and focus on the beautiful view from the 12th floor room, and the great service from the dining room staff!
MainStay Suites Denver International Airport

Airport shuttle is shared with a few other area hotels. Check in was quick and friendly. Room was spacious, as expected since it was a “suite” type hotel. There’s a kitchenette in the room, which had a microwave, ref, stove, sink, basic utensils, plates, mugs, drinking glasses. Separate area for the closet and bathroom. Breakfast was basic fare, nothing great.
