Kranj Hostels

In rather an odd location on the edge of an out of town retail area, however close to the airport and within walking distance of town. When I called from the airport the receptionist was very helpful and organised transport, within 10 minutes I was there. The hotel is clean and rooms are large. There is a buffet breakfast but no restaurant or bar, however there are a couple of bars and eateries close by or walk into town, about 20 minutes. Overall a very good deal and I would stay again.

This hotel is located in a small village area near the Ljubljana airport. It's got a wonderful courtyard entrance with lots of trees and flowers. It feels very warm, quiet, and peaceful. It also has a magnificent restaurant on-site. We chose it primarily because it was close to the airport and we have a very early flight out. The staff helped us arrange for a taxi to pick us up at 4:00am, which was very helpful. They also arranged for us to have breakfast boxes for pickup since we'd be checking out before breakfast would be served. We ate at the restaurant and I'll review it (it was amazing) separately. Our only regret was that we weren't here longer, because it appears to be a great place to stay if you were going to be touring rural Slovenia.

A very good homestay, very clean and comfortable, you can cook by yourself, the backyard opens the door and there is a stream, you can see the snow-capped mountains, the owner of the homestay is also very enthusiastic and very satisfied!

In Winter: please take snow chains. Parking at the house. Shop 14 km, restaurant 3 km. Tennis 13 km, ski lift 200 m, ski school 500 m. Well-known ski regions can easily be reached: Krvavec Ski Resort 2.5 km. Chalet is located on Krvavec mountain inside the Krvavec ski resort. Ski lift is just 200m away. In winter, if there is too much snow (and gravel roads are not properly plowed) snow-mobil shuttle is arranged to transfer luggage and guests. In this case, the car must me left on the parking lot approx. 1,5 km away (otherwise car can be parked on the property). "Chalet Skuta Krvavec", 3-room apartment 50 m2 on 2 levels. Rustic furnishings: living/dining room with open-hearth fireplace and flat screen. Exit to the patio. 2 rooms, each room with 1 double bed. Open kitchen (dishwasher, 4 ceramic glass hob hotplates, microwave) with dining table. Shower/WC, sep. WC. Wood heating. Patio 10 m2. Terrace furniture, box-room. View of the mountains, the valley and the countryside. Facilities: Internet (WiFi). Stairs leading to the first floor are narrow and steep (thre is child barrier on the top of the stairs).
