Rooms ought to have smart Tv where one can access Netflix,You tube, movies amongest other interesting views on Tv. Need to have slippers in the room,Toothpaste and toothbrush. With Kisumu being hot town water bottle should be 1 litre 2pcs. I would suggest also rooms to have coffee making heaters. Rooms are very clean with best beddings, towels and well flowing water. You have great team from soldier at the entrance, reception and even at restaurant. I have visited the hotel several times and have reason to keep coming back everytime am in Kisumu
Ciala Resort Hotels in Kisumu

My husband and I and our 4 kids had a short stay at Ciala Resort while we visited family in the area. This was our 2nd stay here. The resort is impressive from the airy and modern reception area to the immaculate grounds and luxurious rooms. The rooms are spacious with a separate sitting area and balcony with views of lush grounds and beautiful scenery. Rooms include all modern amenities, including coffee maker, hair dryer, bathrobes, and yes toothbrushes. The beds also have mosquito nets. There's a large swimming pool and pool bar with plenty of seating. The drinks and food selections by the pool are fantastic. There's a large covered patio that's perfect for events adjacent to the pool. There's a kids playground, trampoline, and trails for walks. There's also a gym and sauna. The indoor restaurant has plenty of seating with buffet style breakfast and dinner. The food variety is good with local and modern selections. Their chapatis, mandazis, and tilapia were delicious. The staff are friendly and helpful. A perfect base for your visit to Kisumu and surrounding areas.

The hotel is top notch and located in a serene area. The rooms were so comfy. The food was great, and the bar by the pool side was extraordinary with some awesome music. The waiters makes you feel special from the moment you enter the resort. They pick your luggage from you and escort you to the waiting area where your checkin is coordinated while you sipping some fresh juice.

We took the family to this hotel, as we have before, to swim, have lunch and enjoy the afternoon. We asked to hire 5 swimming towels for the children. Ordered drinks, eventually ordered lunch when we managed to locate a waiter again, still no towels. Sent one of our children to ask yet again for the towels…Lunch took forever, the pizza was basically cheese on bread, barely seen tomato pizza sauce under the cheese if it was even there! Specifically ordered white ugali but they brought brown. Children’s chicken nuggets had a strange spicy coating under the Indian style batter - not chicken nuggets at all. We saw many nice plates of chips being taken to other tables who were clearly known but ours were broken, not good tasting or anything. Meal and another order of drinks later (drinks order also wrong), we decided to just give up and leave. Asked for the bill…waited…asked for the bill again, sat waiting and eventually they brought it. Expressed that we weren’t happy, they are ‘sorry’ but it’s fine being sorry after a category of errors. It spoilt our afternoon totally and what’s more we had spent a lot of money on 2 taxis to get to this particular hotel. After this experience, I don’t think it’s a place to return to. The staff don’t care, they are slow, can’t even bring the bill when asked.

Stayed here for a week while I worked in the city. Very good stay and great service, and a great central location. I had a great view of Lake Victoria from my room, and the 2nd floor restaurant also offered nice views. It is located right next to a mall as well (you can walk into the mall from the main lobby of the hotel), so it was easy to go get groceries, coffee from Java house (if you wanted a change up from their espresso bar in the lobby), etc. They were also very accommodating for me when I requested a late check out so I could continue to work before catching a late flight. The wifi was fast and consistent.
