Wakayama Hostels

This hotel seems to be at least last +30years. Most of the facilities in the room looks old. We were very lucky to met up with a front desk customer service - Mr Cao whom originated China but worked in Japan for many years. He assisted us to the JR Line counter in reporting my missing phone, and we did retrieved it back!

When I was looking for a hotel in Wakayama City, I found ”Daiwa Roynet”. I used it often on Okinawa Kokusai-dori, so I feel like I chose it by name first. It's quite far from Wakayama station, but there was no problem because it was used by car. I was surprised to check the location after making a reservation. It is in front of ”Wakayama Castle”. This day was during the illumination period, so I could see the illuminated Wakayama Castle in front of the room and it was the best location! The rooms are well equipped, equipped with deodorant and air purifier, and the refrigerator is in a state of kara, so I used it with drinks. Breakfast is a restaurant with a view of the castle in front of you. This is also outstanding. The content of the buffet is also a general Western menu, ”omelet” made in front of you. In addition, ”Wakayama specialty” was full, and I was full. I regretted that I should have centered on ”Eating and Comparing Umeboshi”, ”Shirasu”, ”Sesame Tofu”, and ”Tuna Kakuni” (laughs). There is also dessert after meals. It seems to be Wakayama that there was ”panda cookie” with coffee! Not new, but clean enough. Looong corridors are a little bit “cattle class” and any view of the castle is unfortunately blocked by wire in the window panes (a fire code requirement I understand). Otherwise perfectly fine. Staff were helpful with secure road bike storage downstairs which was nice.

I chose it because there is a large hot spring bath. It is close to Wakayama Station and there is a station behind the hotel, so it is convenient because you can enter and exit even in the early morning. Above all, it was good to be able to heal the fatigue in the hot spring. It was small and there were few washrooms, but there were no other users and I was able to relax in a state of occupying one person. The room was clean and even in the double room, there was a space to spread the luggage, so I was able to spend a comfortable time. I would like to use it again if I have the opportunity.

Directly connected to Wakayama Station. Because it was in front of the station, there was a CVS and so on. It was on the upper floor of ”Kino Wakayama” in the station building and dinner was done there. The building was clean and the bath was very comfortable with a view of the Kino River. There was also a menu with breakfast and it was delicious. However, it was a few dissatisfaction points that made the evaluation ”normal”. It is mainly a part of hospitality, not hard. First of all, I was guided to breakfast at check-in. Because it was a Bon Festival time, there was a paste that the breakfast time was early in the elevator, but it was guided at the front desk at the usual time. Under the corona, the locker of the bath was pulled out, but when the locker without the key was opened and asked the front desk whether it was possible to use it, it was answered that it did not get the point. When I used it for family ３ people and asked the front desk for breakfast tickets without a number of people and confirmed that it was okay and went to the breakfast venue, I was told that ”the breakfast ticket is not enough １ pieces”. I thought that the front desk was on the upper floor and it was surprising to go up to the upper floor once when I checked out. As a concept of the whole Candeo Hotels, it is called ”unique ４ stars”, but it has somehow lacking impression that it does not become ５ stars. It seems that there is a chain hotel nationwide, but what about ... It is a hotel that does not come to the top of the choice.

This ryokan is located in front of the Osaka Bay in the small bourgeoisie of Kada, 100 mts from the very beautiful sanctuary of Awashima-Jinja and 400 mts from the shipper for Tomogashima. A ship is made available by ryokan to travel to Kada station (Nankai line) to go and come to Wakayama city. The Japanese style rooms (tatamis on the ground, futons and hyper moulded couettes) are very spacious with a loggia with a XLL view of the sea and the Tomogashima and Jinoshima islands, especially for the sea side rooms. The dinner and breakfast, as well as the Japanese as it is due in a ryokan (traditional Japanese hostel), are a real pleasure for eyes and papillae. The service is courteous and careful, the charm of the atmosphere slightly over the year of the places operates. And of course, the onsen (Japanese public bath with hot source) indispensable for any person staying in the hotel is great with impressive view of the sea !!! It is said to ”all customers ...”, and then we are not included in the customer? I think it is bad. I'm sorry. I went down without asking this answer, and suddenly I offered a dessert plate, and I had questions about how to solve it, because the acquaintance of Sommelier in the seat behind us was more likely to be We were enjoying the meal and each employee was coming to greet us. At first, we were thinking about asking for wine, and we asked Sommelier to ask for the recommendation and ask for the proposal via other employees. I thought I would have received an apology at first, but it was a mistake. ”I'm sorry! I have accounting for beer!” We didn't receive any wine at the restaurant. On the spot, there was a person in charge, so I told him that I didn't drink and returned to the room, but I was very uncomfortable with repeated events and contacted the front desk. And I explained the above events and asked, ”What do you think? How do you think we should respond?” By contacting you again, the same restaurant director will be in the next 30 minutes. I came to apologize with a 1000 yen ticket, and I was given a ticket to 々 early. We don't want a ticket or a dessert plate. I asked for an explanation of the details and how I would respond in the future.I refused the ticket and repeated it, but I couldn't understand it.Finally, if you don't receive the ticket, the story ends. We chose Marina City Hotel as a place to relax in the vicinity. The building was beautiful and the surrounding facilities and the response of the people there were great, but the response of the hotel employees was ruined It was. When I went to Wakayama from a friend, I was very kind, so I was told to go to Wakayama again, and it was the reason I chose this hotel this time.
