Ouro Preto Hostels

O hotel é bem confortável. Quarto grande e lençóis bem confortáveis. Café da manhã é ótimo. Sem grande variedade mas gostoso. Único ponto que desagradou é que o pão de queijo (coisa mais famosa e esperada para um turista que vai para MG) é sempre frio e borrachudo. Eles assam 7h da manhã e não repoem novinhos. Pontos negativos: 1) achei afastado do centro e para chegar tem que subir BASTANTE ladeiras. É bem cansativo para deslocamento lá mesmo para fazer atividade física regular. 2) barulho frequente de moto subindo as ladeiras bem ao lado do quarto. Não achei a área silenciosa. Embora o hotel tenha ótimo atendimento, conforto e bom café eu não voltaria por esses dois pontos. Preferia algo mais próximo a praça Tiradentes e aos restaurante mais centrais.

The hotel Pousada do Arcanjo is an excellent place to stay while visiting Ouro Preto. The manager Marco Abdo de Freitas studied management at New York's Ivy League Columbia University, which shows in his excellent management of the pousada. There is an exquisite attention to detail. The staff are not only friendly and highly cooperative, but they also all share a genuine concern for their guests. The rooms are clean and large with a nice bathroom and shower. Ouro Preto is a city of history and the Pousada Arcanjo reflects the city's amazing history. The hotel is comfortable and tastefully decorated in a historic style. The hotel is within walking distance of the town's main square, but there is also a shuttle bus that will drop you off at the main square and pick you up after a day of walking Ouro Preto's steep hills. The hotel is a great place to have a well made cocktail, but also a great place to have a dinner. The breakfast is super with an amazing variety of fresh fruits and local cheeses. Some hotels in the city center can be noisy, but one of the things we loved about the pousada is how peaceful it is at night. The bed was huge and very comfortable. As if all this was not enough, when the taxi was late coming to pick us up for the airport, the owner himself, concerned for our well-being, dropped us off himself. As New Yorkers who once ran a bed and breakfast, we can assure you that this is a quiet, clean and charming place to stay.

Amei a hospedagem. Limpeza impecável. Lençóis e toalhas de ótima qualidade, branquinhos e cheirosos. Café da manhã maravilhoso, atendimento simpático e cuidadoso desde a recepção até o garçom do café da manhã e as moças da limpeza. Prédio bonito, estrutura bem cuidada e localização perfeita. Janio (da Central de reservas), Wellington, Guilherme e Túlio foram muito prestativos e atenciosos. Passamos belos dias em Ouro Preto também porque nos sentimos confortáveis nessa linda pousada.

Outstanding crew. An historical building. We had a nice and cozy room with an explendid view. The pool is tiny but was the first pool in the entire city and is protected by historical authorities. No changes can be made. The owners are always present and offers anyone all the attention needed. It is a catholic enviroment but no proselytism. Just an historical situation. Any denominations will be at home and feel confortable. Breakfast is included in hotel rate with huge variety of local products. There is a parking lot. Two water streams runs on both sides of the building and the hotel is Eco friendly. Sometimes we though it was raining but it was just the water stream's sounds. Funny. We loved to stay there. I recommend this hotel. As an historical building there are limitations in soudproofing. But, in my experience, guest's education is what makes the diference.
