SCAMMERS ALERT!!! First the lack of hospitality. We booked last minute we were supposed to go to Koh Tao island but because of bad weather we were unable to go there. Whe check in procedure was as with every hotel, however we started to feel immediately like criminals when they demanded 3000 baht deposit by credit card because we wanted to check out early to go to the ferry for Koh Tao. I asked why we have to pay so much money which is double the price for one nights stay and they said the the have a flat TV and we might steal or damage it. (The TV never worked by the way it looks that they had unpayed bill to the satelite service. The remote had dead batteries. the whole setup was disconected from electricity. ) Also they mentioned that the money will show in my bank 30 days after (which is strange refunds are done instantly or at max 4 work days in 2023). The botom line its now 2 months and still trying to get my money back. They are using my money probably for pay their bills and their policy is to refund when its convenient for them. Save yourself of being scammed and get another hotel.

When checking in, it was not explained that the room was not cleaned every day by itself. You have to leave your room key in a basket at the reception if you want it. Also as usual in Thailand you get at least water bottles, included in the price in the room. It doesn't exist here. Only a water dispenser, not chilled with tiny glasses because otherwise it would be empty in the restaurant. Bottled water is only available for purchase. Bungalows are tiny and very gloomy due to the dark walls. Everywhere nails in the wall but no pictures. Black mold is also spreading on the wardrobe, if you can call it that. Cloth shelf (see pictures) far too little space for 3 people. You only get a towel that you have to use for your body and face plus hands. Towel for the beach (you can't swim at all) you don't get one without asking. Everything wouldn't be so dramatic if you at least felt comfortable. The boss hardly gets a hello out. Your employees are great but sometimes very stressed because there is only one person for each area. Also reception and restaurant. I can then understand very well. When several people arrived and were already annoyed, she helped a little for the first time. In Thailand, friendliness is very important, but the boss doesn't practice it here. Oh yes, it takes 13 minutes by moped to get to Thong Sala. There is something going on there and there is a super food market. The hotel itself is not really what. Couple of small restaurants. So if you go there and want to experience something or swim, you have to rent a moped. Will go back to my old resort next time.

3.2 “AVOID AT ALL COSTS ” Myself and my partner stayed in this hotel very recently. We were abruptly woken up in the night by a member off staff letting themselves into our room whilst we were sleeping. Luckily my partner is a light sleeper and woke to the noise of the key being put in the door and the door opening. After this event, we realised we couldn’t securely lock the door from within the room and had to put a chair against the door for safety. Woke up the next morning to see an army of ants crawling over various area of the room (we had no perishables out). Huge bed. No quilt cover. Pillows rock hard. Generally unsafe place. Please avoid
Our Jungle House

The jungle house and its treehouses are amazing - you really feel like you are sleeping in the jungle and it is a great adventure. The treehouses themselves are well spread out so you can’t see or hear your neighbours and they are a good quality it terms of beds etc. We did several trips as part of a 4 day / 3 night package - where we stayed for 2 nights in the treehouses at Our Jungle House and 1 night on a lake house on Cheow Lan Lake. We up graded out lake accommodation to a superior room with private bathroom- however it was extremely basic, with thin mats on the floor for beds and thin blankets. It would be fine if you are backpacking but not for a family holiday. Also there is very little wildlife to actually see on the lake itself- we did 3 boat trips and saw some fish eagles, the same monkeys that are abundant in the treehouses and a pig. The other trips were ok - the elephant experience felt ethical and was very good - would defo recommend. The tubing was ok but usual level of Thai health and safety - so be careful with small children and those who can’t swim confidently. The night safari was poor - you going into the national park with approx 200-300 other tourists and as a result see very little. Not the wildlife experience it was sold as. So in summary- Our jungle house is excellent, treehouses are very much worth doing and the elephant experience is amazing. If you are looking for a genuine wildlife experience I would book a trip with another company while you are staying at the treehouses. And only sleep over on the lake if you like sleeping on the floor with threadbare blankets for comfort.

Very close to the railway station. The location is great if you aren’t going to the islands and just wanna take a train somewhere else. Affordable and we have nothing to complain about here.
Little PP Hometel

We arrived in Surat Thani quite late after a long day travelling from Malaysia. We hadn't booked anywhere and found Little PP on a booking site. We grabbed a tuc tuc from the mini bus station which took about 5 minutes to get here. We we're welcomed by the owner who was super friendly. He helped us arrange our ferry to Koh Tao, carried our bags to the bedroom and even bought our beers upstairs to us. The rooms are amazingly clean with large comfy bed and 4 extra comfy pillows. Breakfast was included which was served in their beautiful little coffee shop on the ground floor. 100% excellent experience. If you're in need if an overnight transit stop I would highly recommend this place.

This hotel is in Ban Ta Kun. If you do not have a car it is inaccessible. Has a nice pool and good view. No food and convenient stalls near the hotel. Need to walk 15 mins to get food. Only can order tuk tuk to get to Khao Sok National Park or the Pier.

This is a small hotel located near the airport. The rooms have good air conditioner and are clean. The owner is really nice and help you in all the needs. We appreciatted that they picked us at night in the airport although is only 500 m. This hotel was helpful to stay one night before departing with the ferry next day.
Cheaper Room

I arrived 2 hours earlier and was checked in immediately, for which I thank you very much. The room has panoramic windows, light and beautiful. However: Of the obvious disadvantages - the location is far from any infrastructure and VERY dirty. There was someone else's black hair on the bed linen, a lot of it. The linen did not leave a feeling of freshness, as if it had not been changed since the last guest. The reception staff does not speak English.
