Booked 1 night accommodation through an on-line booking site (Expedia). Unfortunately there was a problem with the booking in that they hadn't included my child in the booking so the accommodation booked (motel room) could only accommodate 2 people. Thankfully the staff were fantastic and managed to find us an alternative option for no extra cost. The cabin we stayed in was fantastic and the place has undergone a massive upgrade since we last stayed here in 2011. The cabin was clean, cosy and we had everything we needed for our staff. Great BBQ available outside of the cabin which we made use of for dinner & brekkie and location is superb. An adventure when travelling with a 6 year old as accommodation felt very safe. (lots of families around due to scholl holidays). Easy 5 min stroll to Tekapo Hot Springs. Would recommend and advise to just book directly with the accommodation rather than an on-line secondary service.

Only had one night here recently but wish we could have stayed longer. Excellent and easy check in, well organised and fantastic host in Jen. Met us on arrival, explained everything thoroughly and made some excellent recommendations for things to do and see in Kaikoura. Unit was extremely clean and comfortable and had little 'treats' that you don't normally find in similar accommodation places. Breakfast in the morning was excellent including Jens homemade bread. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, highly recommended and I thought excellent value for money. Would love to revisit for longer next time.

Real experience and real feedback. Write a few points for your friends’ reference: We stayed for 2 days Satisfied place 1. Very clean and hygienic 2. The newly built house has super new equipment, such as a large TV and a brand new air conditioner. 3. The owner of the house was considerate and gave us a big blanket, which is useful for watching the stars in the middle of the night. 4. The location is good, the starry sky is easy to see, and I even saw shooting stars🌠 Not satisfied with the place 1. The bed will squeak and make a loud noise when you turn over, disturbing your sleep. 2. Construction of a new house at the door will start at 8am in the morning 3. The sound insulation effect is not good. You can hear clearly when walking next door in the middle of the night.

Great location and apartment. The place is very well kept and totally comfortable for the whole family!
Leithfield Beach Holiday Park

Charging $2 to use the showers makes the place seem undeservedly chinzy and archaic. We stayed at a lot of holiday parks and similar accommodation over the last 2.5 months and none of them had pay showers, so this place stands out, and not in a good way. I can't find any reference to paid showers on the property details of the major booking sites that I used for planning, and if it had I would have kept looking. If they insist on keeping to this policy re showers they should make it prominent on their listing on all the booking sites they are on, and let the consumers decide whether it matters to them before booking. Otherwise, the place is clean and organized, so I think they do themselves a disservice to insist on continuing to charge for showers. As it is now I wouldn't stay here again due to the shower issue, or recommend it to anyone else, and going by the reviews there are probably others who would look elsewhere before coming back too.
Lake Ruataniwha Holiday Park

The clerk was very nice and even gave candies to the children. It was right by the lake. The room was very comfortable. Although there was no breakfast, there was a kitchen where you could make your own breakfast and dinner. After dinner, it was very convenient to take a walk by the lake. The water was very hot and the room was big.
The Grange B&B

I lived in Auckland a long time ago, but South Island landed for the first time this time. Speaking of Christchurch, there is only B & B! And the hotel and apartment are ignored and decided here. It was a really nice building as we looked at. All the interiors and the courtyard are cute. The rooms are small but clean and comfortable. Excited with a 4-year-old daughter and mother! The breakfast was delicious too. The bathroom is also elaborately decorated, but one difficulty. It was a bit of a unique floor plan, and the shower water flowed to the cupboards and toilets. The drainage of the drain is not bad, but it is probably due to the floor plan. Later, I'm full of family, so everyone is always busy and I don't want to catch anything. When I first arrived, nobody came out even if I pushed the bell, and when I was in trouble, a customer who went out happened to open the door and put it inside (lol) It was exactly the same when other guests came, just the entrance We stayed in the room next to us and opened the door (laughs) The owner family feels good, but it seems to be busy all day. I thought this price was a bit expensive for B & B per night, but I was satisfied. Finally, the security aspect is subtle. Christchurch is safe and should be fine, but if you are worried about it, we recommend a hotel.

Clean and tidy independent cottage with 1 double, 2 single and 3 beds. The environment is very good. There are restaurants and supermarkets. 1 km away. The owner is very enthusiastic and the introduction is very comprehensive. There are no cows and sheep in the alpaca interaction. If you can see the starry sky at night

The advantage is that there is a kitchen for cooking, not by the sea, but it is more convenient to enter and exit. The hotel rooms have a variety of models, you can drive a tent, you can also live in a few people, bunk beds, use a communal kitchen, you can also live in a family suite or standard room.

Pros: Lovely bathrooms with great showers and camp kitchen. Great play area for the kids. Cons: Sites were very narrow and hard to access, felt very claustrophobic. Laundry used online pay system that was tedious and hard to use. Had to pay several times to find our machine were not working. Machines leaked water everywhere.
