The outside is being renovated, and the inside may be renovated slowly by myself. Even the door handle is broken. The room is for 4 people. I thought it was divided into girls' and boys' rooms, but it turned out that a little boy was divided into two rooms that afternoon, and he was divided into two rooms the next day. . It is surrounded by old areas, and check-in does not cost the 6 ringgit indicated by Ctrip. I booked this youth hostel just because I was working alone. I arranged the bed in the upper bunk. The fan couldn't be fixed, so I could only shake my head. The air conditioner was also not working. The air conditioner and fan on the upper bunk were blowing towards each other. If you look closely, the air conditioner was full of air. It's gray. I carried it like this for three nights. Fortunately, I was well prepared and brought dirty sheets and other things. Cheap and convenient are just ignored. The exterior and the first floor are still passable, and you must prepare slippers and change your shoes every time you go back. The soundproofing is very poor, so it won't be suitable for those with sleep disorders. There is a broadcast from the mosque at 6 o'clock every morning, and there is an open-air karaoke next door at night which is quite noisy.

Nice hotel and very suitable for those who taking flight to their destination. Ample parking space and very friendly staffs. It is around 3 min to the airport therefore will recommend on this basis and also economical.

The landlord is warm and thoughtful. The hotel is in a good location. There is a 7-11 downstairs and a night market nearby. It is convenient to go to the beach and amu*****t park.

Booking with TRIP.COM is super easy peasy, there is no hidden charge. Room was as expected, worthy with the price. All facilities provided functioned well. The only concern with my booking was the type of room. I picked room with twin bed, but then I got one queen bed and the hotel did not let me know during check in. Anyway it was not a big issue since I came with my family and only for one night stay.

Firstly the staff, they are all really lovely and cannot do enough for you. When we checked in we realised that we had accidentally booked the wrong week! But this wasn’t an issue as we were given a better room for the same price! In fact, we actually enjoyed our stay that much we ended up staying for 14 nights! The location is great, there’s plenty to do, lots of great cheap restaurants and the beach is less than a few minutes walk. Initially it was hard to find as it’s placed in an old shopping centre on the 2nd floor. We took the escalators but there is also a lift. Once you get inside, the secure front door the reception is modern and clean, 24hr help is always available and the rooms lock with a physical key. You get way more than you’d expect for the price. Modern clean rooms with refurbished en suite with rainfall shower. Hot water at all times and reliable WiFi. Tea and coffee 24/7 too! And breakfast everyday until 11am!! Every 3 days we got clean towels, fresh sheets and the room was cleaned. Some guests have complained about the noise from the charaoke which is on the same floor but our room was the closest to this and we were never kept up, the latest would could just about hear it was 23:30 but this was on a Saturday night! The only downsides, albeit small, were the lack of variety at breakfast, lack of natural light in the rooms due to the windows facing into the shopping centre so the curtains should be closed, and the WiFi was a bit slow, but only noticeable if streaming HD videos, for general web surfing it was more than capable! Overall me and my partner were very happy with our 2 weeks we spent here, we felt very safe and relaxed and you can’t argue with the price! It saved us a lot of money on our 6 month trip and was one our favourite place we stayed in Penang! Thank you once again, if we are ever in Malaysia again we will be sure to visit :)

Yea maybe the breakfast is not the best you can have, but it’s fine, you can have homemade jams and kaya with bread, make your porridge, free coffee all day long if you want, tea, fresh water... but Isn’t nice when you stay in a place and the owners are always smiling at you and disposable for eeeeverything you need? Even take you out for the night Chinese ghost festival, or how was it called. They are happy to have you here and you will be happy to stay. The dorm was very clean, with curtains for the very comfortable beds, where you could feel as you are in a small private room inside. Definitely highly recommended.

I stayed one night here for my medical check up at Island Hospital. It’s near only 3 mins walk (to Peel Wing-new building of Island Hospital) and it is only across the Macalister Wing of Island Hospital. So basically it is convenient for hospital’s patient. Check in was good, required MYR 100 deposit (they’ll give you back once you check out). They give towels and body soap only for amenities. Got water heater also. No bedside table, so I have to put a chair to charge my phone. There’s a fan and aircon, I can’t adjust the aircon temperature though, the remote is there but no battery and I tried to use tv remote battery, nothing happen. No restaurants or food stall near the hotel, can order from grab or just walk around to find food. Well, overall it’s value for money hotel. For medical trip to Island Hospital, this could be a good choice. Other than that, personally I would choose another hotel closer to other things in town.

The hostel is in an amazing local. Super close to love lane. Not a far walk from the ferry. Lots of street food around. Overall the stay was good. The breakfast goes until noon which is a big plus. It’s basic but really filling at the same time. The rooms were clean as well as the bathrooms. The sheets were a little too stained for me but I am picky that’s why I travel with a silk liner. The air con was great. The staff were quite helpful in helping us get around. The downsides: The wifi would cut out quite a bit. This happened a lot at night and was rather annoying. And the hostel is right across the street from a mosque. We were woken up every single morning at 5am and then again at 6am with the noise from the mosque. It was frustrating because after the 5am wake up it would be hard to fall back asleep but you could always count on the 6am to keep you up even longer. I’m sure if the room was a little further back from the street it wouldn’t have overly affected us. Just a warning that it is a little noisy here. We would stay again despite both of these negatives.

This hotel is very retro, the staff in the hotel are very friendly, and I really like the environment and equipment inside. The room door lock is also a traditional manual door lock, and it is very quiet at night. There is a small swimming pool inside, and the location of the hotel is also very good. Not bad, you can reach the scenic spot and food street within a few steps, and will stay here again next time😎

Just a perfect intro to Penang and Georgetown. A beautiful little place, halfway between an upscale hostel and a boutique hotel. It was my first visit to Penang, and initially I'd reserved at another, highly rated, Georgetown hotel, but my heart sank when I checked in, looked at the rows of identical rooms, talked to the front desk staff who had no enthusiasm for their World Heritage city and minimal knowledge of what to see, where to go. I immediately checked out! I checked TripAdvisor, and Carnarvon House was just a 15 minute walk away -- in a much more traditional part of town. What a contrast! It's in a quiet side street in the middle of traditional Georgetown, a small hotel with beautifully restored internal and external features. Greeted by Nicole, the super friendly, knowledgeable co-owner, I admired the internal patio garden, the welcoming guest coffee/common room, and the choice of rooms. The upscale hostel part? There are no ensuite bathrooms -- the traditional and original layout doesn't allow room for that. But there are easily adequate toilet-shower-sink cubicles. As a solo visitor, I much enjoyed meeting other guests -- young folks and couples from all parts of the world -- in the common room area. And Nicole was so helpful in advising about how to explore Penang -- and restaurant recommendations. A better concierge than in most upscale hotels! A perfect place for a perfect Penang visit.

It’s perfect for the whole family to live together! ! I have stayed in hotels and Airbnbs in Penang, and this place is really the best value for money. I was originally worried that there would be problems with the old house, but it turned out that the experience was great. It had everything it needed. The beds, tables, and floors were all of great quality, and the cleaning was more meticulous than many hotels (certified for mysophobia). Next door is the famous Shantou Street, where you can’t finish the fried rice with duck kueh sauce, roast pork rice, teahouse, snacks and sugar water... There are also supermarkets and laundry rooms nearby. The downstairs of the room happens to sell Penang specialties, and the landlord even gives them to you. Voucher hahahaha All five stars, thank you to the landlord and everyone in the store for taking care of me!
