Homestays in Kaafu Atoll, Maldives

PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE BOOKING AND AVOID TO SPOIL YOUR HOLIDAYS!!! We spent 3 nights there and were treated as if we were money. We went to eat at the hotel restaurant and asked for fresh juice, they gave us very tasteless mango juice and told us that mango in maafushi is not sweet, we had the same juice in another part of the island and it was as we expected. Every time we sit down they insistently ask us if we want water, and even if we say no, they leave the water on the table and don't include it in the bill, as soon as we get up they run after us saying we have to pay for the water, obviously we told them that the water was still closed on the table and we didn't pay. They even charge a 10% service charge like everywhere else but they never bring us change and keep it for themselves. They cook without head cover or gloves and the food was of very poor quality. We asked to join an excursion at the reception 30 minutes before it started and they told us it was not possible to organise it, so we went to the beach, where there is a kaani beach, asked them directly and they organised it for us right away (they were very angry about the attitude of the receptionist and told us that receptionist did not even want to make a phone call). The night was a circus: very loud music from 9pm until 1am and it was not possible to sleep in the room or talk on the balcony because of the noise. Room service did not replace towels, beach towels or toilet the day of departure they told us that some beach towels were missing, so we had to waste time explaining that we hadn't received them the day before. And obviously they asked us to leave a good review in booking, this makes me think they think we are stupid. Avoid this place.

The hotel is not bad and affordable, the first to go to the Maldives does not know how to book a hotel. I was originally reporting to the group but because I had to pay the money of two people alone, I simply went there. Looking at the pictures of the hotel in the travel agency's itinerary, I found out that it was cheaper than the travel agency! Fortunately, I didn't follow the group, but the problem is coming! The introduction does not explain the time of the boat trip on the island and other information! Orders can only be changed and cancelled before confirmation. It is confirmed that there is no way to solve the problem soon after it is found! I can only admit that I am unlucky! This should be improved! Some hotel information is not very accurate, such as showing only a few kilometers but it is a headache to take a boat! There is no reminder on the transportation mode of the hotel. Some losses could have been avoided!

I am not exaggerating with this opinion of mine, Everything works fine in this guest house, the breakfast is very good, I found myself in the morning in a splendid garden surrounded by many tropical plants. Also I want to point out that the location is great, this guest house is a short walk from the beach, instead, for small purchases there is a small shop very close, I spent a truly heavenly holiday, thanks Rafiq thanks mrs Chan (the manager) I will be returning to Mid Summer for sure next year. Inoltre ci tengo a precisare che la posizione è ottima, si trova a pochi passi dalla spiaggia, invece per piccoli acquisti c'è un negozietto vicinissimo, ho trascorso una vacanza veramente paradisiaca, grazie Rafiq grazie signora Chan (la manager) tornerò sicuramente a Midsummer Thulusdhoo Malddives l'anno prossimo.

Good and delicious breakfasts. They have two tiles: local and continental. So friendly and helpful staff, everything was so cozy.

We spend 4 nights at Bilimbi with two kids under 3y and we felt like home. All the people around are more than helpful and super nice (for example they manage to buy potty for our kid even I wrote them just a few ours before our arrival or every morning they took our 9months old and play so we can eat breakfast..) Rooms are very comfy and have all the amenities you need. The island is small, but the people there and so nice and the bikini beach is the most beautiful we saw (we have been to 3 islands so compare to that ones). If you are thinking about holiday at Huraa, you should definitely go for it. There is some special vibe and calm that I cant describe. But totally worth to visit. And Bilimbi is place to go🤩

I stayed 4 nights at this hotel which was enough as my first impression of the room was not what it looked liked online. It was very dated. The storage cabinets had broken off bits of wood and no flowers, fruit or towels wrapped up on bed as picture shows on their website of bed. The bathroom smelt upon arrival with the toilet blocking up twice. Yes I put toilet paper in the toilet first time then was told not to put toilet paper in toilet so didn’t after that but stilled blocked again. The lavender smelling sachet in bathroom was empty on arrival. Bed was hard. Lightbulb above mirror was blown in room. Room safe had key but numbers didn’t work. TV didn’t work. No signal. Reception was presented well. The breakfast was not great. Not much choice and all foods were cold. No heating of baked beans or sausages. The woman in the dining room was rude twice. Could have been more polite and friendly. I only had breakfast twice and it was very little. I could hear the staff out the back in the kitchen clearing their throat very loudly as if going to spit. I also heard this upstairs a few times by staff. I thought was disgusting. The stairs had broken wood and weren’t the safest. The guy who got my baggage when I arrived and also took it to the boat was the Hotels best asset. He was lovely and always had a smile. He was very respectable. It is very noisy there at night so no sleep until midnight as set surrounded by bars and restaurants playing loud music. Garden setting is lovely. Beach is across the road. Though can’t swim there. This hotel needs a refurbishment. The best part was the shower. Good pressure from large shower head. I rate it 3/5 for my stay. Also wasn’t given more loo paper when room was cleaned in day 3. Only cleaned once. Wouldn’t stay again.

I want to experience life on a residential island so I chose to stay in this hotel for two nights. Advantages of this hotel: 1. The bed is comfortable 2. Larger bathroom 3. There are many options for water projects provided by third parties, and the price is moderate 4. There is a nice beach, the room is very close to the beach 5. The hotel’s spa is good and worth a try. The Indonesian aroma therapist is very good and the price is reasonable ($99 twice) 6. The hotel service staff are honest and willing to help, they are all very nice Disadvantages: 1. Huraa Island, where the hotel is located, has poor infrastructure, and the sandy and muddy road has not been repaired 2. The owner of the hotel doesn't look very friendly, maybe because he thinks Chinese guests can't speak English? Anyway I feel uncomfortable 3. The hotel's email response speed is very slow, and the information in the response is also wrong. Fortunately, nothing went wrong. We chose to go to Male’ to take the Legion Ferry to the island 4. As described by some European and American guests on Booking.com, the food provided by this hotel is really out of standard, at most the standard of our domestic three-star hotels, and the selection of ingredients is not fresh enough and has no characteristics. Of course, I can understand the cost of transporting ingredients to the island. The choice of other local restaurants on the island is also very limited. In short, if the budget is sufficient, it is recommended to add some money to Wuxingdao, after all, they have already come to the Maldives.

The Kaani Village hotel is part of a hotel chain on the island. The treatment has been excellent from the reception, where we did not have to carry the suitcases at any time. The room has all the comforts: a spacious bathroom, a large bed, plugs, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a fan, lots of artificial and natural light, as well as access to the indoor pool. The beach is less than 2 minutes walk. The hotel offers all services directly, without third parties. We have done excursions in which we have swum with sharks, turtles, we have seen the coral reef, we have played with manta rays and we have eaten on deserted islands. In addition, the monitors that have touched us have had impeccable attention. We have coincided with people from many cultures and the respect that there is in general is noticeable. The price per excursion is between $30-50 per person, which is very affordable considering that you spend a large part of the day outside and it includes food. They also offer water sports. We have not been able to do them because we have lacked some time on the island. We have been here 5 nights. As for the food, they made us an improvement compared to what we had contracted and all the meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) have been at the Kaani Palm, which is on the beachfront. They also gave us free access to the infinity pool on the 9th floor. The views are incredible. The beach in front is private and only accessible to hotel residents. On this beach you can wear a bikini without any problems. There are ushers who take care of everything you may need: lounger, drinks, food... It should be noted that the island is a mix between several hotel chains and private homes of people who live here, so it is not as artificial as if it were a deserted island with a resort. There are many cats that are very humanized, are good and allow themselves to be caressed. In general the experience has been very positive. If we had to recommend the trip, we would only increase the stay by 1 or 2 days to be able to do what little we have lacked.

every thing is so perfect in this place from the manager jack who is very professional in terms of hospitality no dull moment until the last day of our stay early check in late check out he even arranged all the tours and before we ask he already booked our speed boat going back to the airport to the front desk Envie Maricar David and to all the staffs they’ll let you feel very welcome like their family thank you jack and the rest of your team surely will come back and i also highly recommend this place best place ever..

The resort is very nice and quiet. Room is spacious and neat. It's located very near to the jetty. In fact, everything is near because Maafushi is not so big. Water sport, snorkeling package etc is easy to find. Thanks to Aishath, the person in charge at the resort. She helped a lot in giving suggestions for activities to be done in Maldives.

It should be the second hotel in Ma Fuji! The room was very clean, very large, the bed was very comfortable and all towels and bedding were clean. In addition to not a first-line sea view, the water heater faucet is a little difficult to control, it is very good! The front desk service and the owner are very helpful, and there are surprises with them for booking the sea, speedboat and other expenses!

Property itself is very good – with great and helpful owner Shameer and all the staff. Rooms are clean, beach towels and water always available, they serve good breakfast and can cook a good lunch. Once Shameer went snorkeling with me to show a non-obvious snorkeling place near the island. He was kind to help me printing and scanning the papers I needed to send home. On the downside - window was facing the wall in a meter distance (unfortunately not uncommon problem of Maldivian guesthouses and hotels), there were. no soundproofing with the adjoining room - sounds like the neighbors are in your room. Location-wise - hostel used to be on the beach, but now - after the extension of the island - near the huge wasteland that used to be the ocean. The worst thing about our stay was the island. It is by far the least interesting of 11 Maldivian local island we have visited: nothing to see, nothing to do, unless going somewhere by the boat, small bikini beach with a very shallow water, no house reef except for some 0,5 meter deep little coral field where you can snorkel during the high tide without getting coral cuts, only one ok restaurant - in a word, no vibe, no attractions. If I’d visit only this island I would have terribly wrong impression from Maldives.

Wow... wow...wow.... I had stayed 2 nights there almost full 3 days... it was awesome from checkin till leaving the place... Reservation was easy... transport was arranged.. once I reach buggy was waiting for me.. pick up and drop was on time... also they do provide buggy assistance if you wanna go around the island and pick up back.... Room was great... and view specially is A Big Wow... in front of the Sea... with a big Ground view... and service and Hotel team is always kind and ready to help.. when I ask for Late Checkout on my last day.. there was no hesitation.. .. overall nothing to say.. it was simply the best...

The hotel was basic, but clean. The staff were absolutely fantastic and super helpful. For the price great stay! I would Recommend and would stay again myself if visiting the island again.

First things first thanks to people which were around, we are sorry not to ask your names, but person which met us and was there around and person which is serving food full day long over there and assisting as well, these people are so nice! We are grateful for your assistance and work! We stayed 4 nights and were about to cry when were leaving. We were picked up from the boat and also transferred back after our stay. It worth money that it costs, you should not expect much and some designs or something wow, but it’s simply basic simple place at which you can rest so well after exploring the island and swimming in the ocean. However, despite to all, room was so clean - we really did not expect it. No insects! Super comfortable bed. The only what was a minus for us is salty water which had some strong for us smell, however we were using cold shower with fresh water what mostly was ok for us after hot day outside. AC and fan were working well. We got beach towels and regular towels, room amenities, were using safety box, getting water in glass bottles, room cleaning. The view around and from the guest house is so beautiful! You can have breakfast with view of the ocean and in the evening it’s so nice with all lights around. We also had breakfast included, it was nice that something daily was different. There’s laundry service and also you can rent bycicle and take a ride to the sandbank area and around the island. Not possible to describe all, but it was time in paradise:)

It is a hotel that you will not regret staying at. The room was comfortable and I suddenly decided to extend my stay. The food was ok. The employees were very impressed.

Cool place right on the beach and very private. A separate part of the hotel which is also the better part of it.
