Family is too cold! ! Because the house may be a bit old, there is no air conditioning everywhere. It depends on the kerosene stove. It stops for three hours. I caught a cold at night. But all aspects of environmental sanitation are very good. It is very convenient to ski nearby!

The loft suite is warm and cozy, the boss is very kind, and the location is very quiet. The room is on the upper and lower floors. The split level makes the activity area larger. Sleeping upstairs is quieter and less likely to be disturbed by people downstairs.

The room was clean and clean. the air conditioner and the fan are already on. It was cool and easy to spend. Color 々 complete with insect repellent, detergent, etc. thank you. The sauna reaches about 80 ℃ in about an hour and a half I entered twice at night, in the morning. The weather was nice and it was the best place to go. Bonfires and fireworks are the best three consecutive holidays! It was good that charcoal and ash were not necessary to clean up! I want to go again someday.

The room is very special. The location is in the center of the town. Near a very popular shop selling bean bags, the uncles and aunts of the hotel are very patient to help check in. They chose to bring dinner and breakfast packages. They are all delicious and very warm. The residence, thank you for the hospitality of the boss, thank you 🙏

RRgkobashiLet me start with the good parts:  - The location is convenient, with lots of restaurants, cafes, and rental shops nearby. They also work with Hakuba Lion Adventure, so we got some great discounts for rentals.  - The room was very clean and well-equipped, they also have a dry room for snow gears.  - Breakfast was freshly made every morning, with a nice variety and really delicious food.   However, our experience was tainted by communication issues with the owner. Upon arrival, he realized we had come by car and immediately scolded us for not informing him in advance. He claimed to have messaged us about it, but we later discovered he was talking about *********** while we had booked via Trip.com. Since no parking was reserved for us, we had to use a nearby rental space for 1,000 yen per night. We accepted this, understanding that parking is limited during snow season. Until the third night, our car got stuck in the snow, so we went to ask for help. Instead of assisting us, the owner started blaming us again, saying he had already sent us a message telling us not to drive because of the heavy snow. But we were very confused because we double checked all our booking platform messages and emails there was NO such message at all. So before we checked out, we brought this up again and the owner just said, “Well, that’s not my fault, and I don't recommend booking platforms such as Agoda, Trip.com or *******”. This place is quite a disappointment. The location itself is great, and the breakfasts were amazing, but the owner’s attitude completely ruined the experience. To make things even more frustrating, the owners speak Mandarin (as does one of us) and a bit of English, yet the owner insisted on speaking Japanese, fully aware that we didn’t understand it. It almost seemed like he was pretending to be Japanese. If you’re expecting authentic Japanese hospitality, this is not the place. I genuinely liked the place and even considered staying for a week to work remotely, but the owner’s behavior made that impossible. Who wants to be scolded multiple times during a vacation?

WWei LeThis place is ~5mins walk from Zenkoji temple. neighborhood is peaceful at night. Shoes to be removed outside the accommodation. Rooms are on the 2nd floor so you'll have to carry your luggage up (there's no lift). Room (with window) is huge. You'll have to head downstairs to use the shared toilet and shared onsen (no toilet inside the room). We were only allowed 30mins of onsen time for 2 pax - couples weren't allowed to use the onsen concurrently so we had to go one after another (i'm not sure if the instructions got lost in translation..). Felt very rushed so i didnt really get to enjoy the onsen experience, but overall was nice and clean. Interesting 6.30am tour around the area and within the temple itself, followed by a simple vegetarian breakfast (porridge with omakase-styled sides with miso soup) back at the accommodation. The morning tour lasted from 6.30am - 8.30am. The accommodation provided a fleece blanket to each pax to bring to Zenkoji temple to keep us warm during the morning praying ceremony. We went on 30 Dec and it was SO COLD. Overall interesting experience but accommodation price is pretty steep IMO.

MMidlifeMilesWonderful Stay at Garden Pension Obogurgl We had an excellent experience at Garden Pension Obogurgl. The location is perfect—just a short walk to the Hakuba Goryu lifts, which made getting on the mountain super easy every day. The pension itself is cozy, clean, and peaceful, with a lovely garden that adds to the charm. Our room was warm and comfortable, with plenty of space for ski gear, and the communal areas had a relaxed, homely vibe. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, always happy to help with local tips and transport advice. We especially enjoyed being able to walk everywhere—whether it was to the nearby convenience stores, local restaurants, or just strolling among the beautiful pine trees. The large cherry blossom tree out the front added a special touch to the peaceful surroundings. If you're after a quiet, scenic, and welcoming place to stay in Hakuba Goryu, Garden Pension Obogurgl is a fantastic choice.

KKs TamThe location is great and it is well maintained. I stayed in the 4 beds female dorm, it was spacious. The bed was big with a little desk at one side of the bed for organising personal items. Each bed has their own charging pod. There are some limitations though: the lift can't be used so suitcases are moved up via staircase. I have to go down to the 2nd floor for the bathroom and toilet. I am not sure how many people are sharing them but I never need to wait an they are clean.

GGuest UserThe hotel is one kilometer away from the bus terminal, but there are small stops near the hotel to various ski resorts, which is very convenient. I booked a total of 5 nights, including meals. The 5 breakfasts are basically Japanese, very hearty and satisfying! It is a traditional Japanese-style bed and breakfast. The room is on tatami mats and you make your own bed. In some years, the furniture is not new, and you can hear it in the walking room in the corridor, but it is very clean! The quality of the guests is also very good, there is no loud noise, which is much better than the Europeans and Americans who later lived in the hotel! The boss is an old Japanese couple. They don’t talk much and may not always smile like other Japanese people, but in fact they love to help. After dinner every morning, they ask you where you plan to go today, and then pull you there. His map wall helps you plan your itinerary, and the hotel also has a lot of coupons or low-cost ski tickets for ski resort cooperation. Save a lot of expenses. After checking out, you need to change to another hotel. After the boss asks the address, he will send it to the next one, but there are still not many words 😁, thank you for your rigorous and lovely Japanese grandpa Very cost-effective, recommended!

RRaeMeteor Garden is located conveniently 5-7min drive from main Hakuba Village. One thing to note is that the main cafe in the stay is not open so need to find other dining alternatives. Rooms and amenities are clean and well maintained, the one issue is that it’s not well marked on Google map as it keeps pointing to the restaurant which was not opened and gave us a false alarm. Wifi is not the fastest and does not handle multiple devices that well especially when you are trying to work. There was some confusion when booked via Trip as the contact information was somehow truncated so hotel was unable to contact me without going through Trip thus messages were delayed. Overall it was an enjoyable stay and everyone had a great time…

AAnonymous User1. The house is very clean and well-maintained, with complete cooking utensils, dishes, cups and bowls, and a large refrigerator. You own the entire house, including a dining room, living room and 2 bedrooms. Parking is also very convenient next to the house. 2. It is a 20-minute drive from Ogizawa Station, suitable for those who drive to visit Tateyama Kurobe. 3. On the first night, we encountered a magnitude 5 earthquake in Nagano. The epicenter was nearby and the whole house was shaking noticeably. The staff arrived quickly to inquire about the guests’ safety and were very attentive. 4. It is suggested to add a sofa, because not everyone likes to sit on the floor in the Japanese style. 5. Please bring your own slippers, toothbrush and toothpaste as they are not provided.

JjulesLovely villa for family visitors wanting to see Karuizawa! The location is fantastic, very close to all the main spots of Karuizawa, the outlet, the little village, some very nice restaurants are nearby as well. The villa itself is lovely and spacious, the lighting is really good, and you can truly relax and enjoy the area. The facilities are clean and modern, you can cook, clean, do laundry and everything in this villa. The only downside would be having only one bathroom in the entire villa, the bathroom is great with a nice jacuzzi, but it might not be as convenient if there are more people staying in the villa.

TTeddyOverall, our stay was enjoyable, and the chalet matched the photos. However, I’d rate it 3.5 stars due to poor value for the peak-season price. Check-in instructions were unclear, leaving us to search for our villa in the cold. There were no manuals for the heater, boiler, or washer, and the boiler kept turning off unexpectedly. The concierge was attentive, but these issues dampened the experience. These manuals / improvements / attention to detail should be easy fixes for the management company, but a major oversight for a company that prides itself on hospitality.
