Eagle Nest Home Stay

Best homestay in our whole Assam and Meghalaya trip. It is very near to the airport and so cabs are easily available. The caretakers are helpful and the owner is very friendly and informative. Rooms are neat and clean -towel, blankets, linen are good, washed and clean, bathrooms are well maintained and clean. Garden is beautiful with good sitting arrangement. Their terrace Garden is a must visit in the evening to enjoy the sunset. Not lesser than a 4 star hotel with a homely touch to it.
Hotel Rains Inn

Situated in a broken pathway ***** Paltan Bazar; access is tricky. The outer appearance of the hotel does not inspire confidence. The reception / lobby area is tiny and dingy. But all this is made up by the room I opted for: Deluxe category. The room was huge by any standards, spic and span, equipped with L-shaped sofa, study table and the usual bed, TV, fridge etc. It also had a balcony which is rare these days. The staff looked deprived, but were friendly and cooperative. The food is reasonably priced and tasty. The breakfast is limited and homely. Tariff, very reasonable. Recommended for middle budget travelers.

Everything is fine except for some ***** staying in the room before me who left a window open because of which so many mosquitoes had hidden in the room that despite using the all out liquid i couldn't sleep at all.

Sewak Lodge

The lodge is located at a vibrant place. It is well connected by roads and it's quite easy to find a ride to almost every part of the city. It also has some good restaurants within the vicinity. The goldighi mall is across the street to the lodge. Overall, if i exclude the harsh temperatures during the daytime, it was a descent experience.
