We are impressive for service and welcome drink. The location is good where located in the heart of ancient city. The room is clean, comfortable but the bed is a little hard. If i have chance to come back, I will choose this hotel. Recommend to you!!!

Arrived at the hotel and greeted by friendly staffs. The room is big and comfortable. Staff readily offered to help me with transport to Yungang grottos. And thanks to them, I also managed to get transport and ticket to the Hanging Temple. Breakfast is fantastic too (although it was the same noodle for 2 days 😄). The hotel is also conveniently located at the foot of the ancient wall north gate, and I can enjoy myself quite late into the night without worry for safety. After 3 nights stay, the staff sent me off with a big smile. Overall, my stay in Datong is fantastic. Thank you ☺️

The room facilities are relatively new, after all, it is newly opened. It's a homestay overall. The daily cleaning is really weird. They only change towels, take away old disposable slippers and don't put new ones. The toilet paper is left over from the previous guest. If it's gone, you have to go to the front desk to get it yourself. The quilt is the same as when you leave in the morning and when you come back in the evening, and it's not folded or made flat. The B&B waiters did not wear uniform, and it was unclear who was a tourist and who was a waiter. When we arrived, they recommended us to take the electric car and the tour guide. But they were both scams. The electric cars could not reach the core attractions because there were guardrails in the ancient city that would not let people pass through. In addition, the ancient city was really small. When you asked for directions at the front desk, they told you it was too far and you had to take an electric car. In the end, we found out that the family had their own electric car. In addition, the price they quoted for electric cars was higher than that of other places. You can bargain with any other place outside. If one place doesn't work, try another one. There are many electric cars on the road. The breakfast was not good either, not even a bit of meat, not tasty. The guy at the front desk said it was a souvenir for me when I left, but he didn't give it to me. It might be because I didn't buy the electric car, tour guide, restaurant and performance that he recommended from me.

Hotel is in a great location in the old city, being in front of the Bell Tower and 2 minutes' walk from Huayan Monastery and 5 minutes from the Nine Dragon Wall. Being in a pedestrianized area means there is no traffic noise and is near many restaurants and shops. Rooms are nicely appointed and very clean with a hot and strong shower. The reception is very friendly and helpful and was organized a car and driver for me to visit both Yungang Grottos and Hanging Temple in a single day. The lady at the reception even lend me a winter hat as she feels I wasn't appropriately dressed for the cold weather. Will definitely stay again.

The new Chinese style of the hotel doesn't have a strong old-fashioned Chinese style, because the one I stayed in the first time was a little old-fashioned. Fresh fruit every day and ready to fulfill our wishes and requests.The beds are very comfortable and the linen is of excellent quality. Bathroom toiletries are provided. If you visit Datong you absolutely must not miss it! Absolutely recommended!

The customer service girl has been in contact since the booking, confirming the arrival time and picking me up at the east gate fence. The room was clean and comfortable. I stayed there again because it was so comfortable. The breakfast is simple but tastes like home! The service ladies are very proactive and enthusiastic. Because the train was in the evening on the day of departure, I wanted to take a break at noon, and the customer service also helped me to delay the check-out to 2 o'clock. I was really satisfied and highly recommended!

Nanshe is a brand new hotel located in the downtown area. The building itself is brand new, modeled in chinese traditional courtyard style. The area is quiet but close to attractions and shopping streets 大同不夜城. It is located next to the datong ancient city walls north gate, within walking distance to nine dragons wall, huayan temple, shanhua temple and the Southeast Yi Historical and Cultural Block. There is also a bus stop outside that goes round the area.Cab fare is less than 30 rmb to Yungang Grottoes and Datong south highspeed train station. Friendly and attentive staff checking for allergy if any. The owner was kind enough to meet me at the train station. Breakfast is simple fare consists of millet congee with side dishes, tasty noodles in warm broth, toasts and local pastries etc. Freshly made coffee from a semi auto coffee maker. Hotel serves light sweet soup to guests before dinner. Free fruits and cookies in the lobby. Washing machine and dryer are avail for use. My room has an overhead projector with wide selection of movies. Clean and comfortable. Room has many wall sockets for charging. Bathroom is huge. Deposit 200 rmb as all the facilities are brand new. Enjoyable stay. Datong is delightful a comination of the old and new.

Nice place, Nice location; you can walk to the Ancient town, I took along time to catch nice scene along the city wall, park and canal. To get the hotel from Datong South Railway Station by bus no.31 from the bus station side(the area is connected), take around 30 minutes to get there (Yungang Jianguo hotel, the hotel is opposite, only 2 CNY, many food and minimart around there. There is Muslim food there if need(next to the entrance of C(behind the building). Nice service, self check-in, clean room and relaxing. the owner, you should to contact the owner before arrive, she so friendly and always help you, she suggested us about the famous local food and restaurants(Thank you so much). If you need to buy some necessary item and cannot buy at the around minimart, you can walk to the Yonghui Superstore by East side (the next junction) turn right to Yuhe West rd. (At the corner). From the hotel tobget Yungang Grottoes, you can take bus no. 31 (Yungang Jianguo side), get off at Shi Li Dian Cun Xi ( West Shilidian village), cross to another side and catch bus no.12 to the terminal stop(is Yungang Grottoes. Take 1 hour or 1.30 to get there.

My family (2 adults and 2 teenagers) stayed at 陆合景客栈 for 2 nights when we visited Datong. The hotel was very beautiful, and the family room was excellent. The beds we comfortable, and the room was very well equipped with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The hotel was very nicely decorated to match the atmosphere of the ancient city. I would like to especially give commendations to Ms 任红霞 and Mr 付强. Both of them provided exceptionally good service during our stay and made sure that all our questions and needs were fulfilled. They are exceptional staff of the hotel and I hope the hotel management rewards them for their hard work. Highly recommend this hotel to anybody who is looking for accommodation in Datong ancient city.

After searching online for a long time, I finally chose Gujia Inn with a try-it-out mentality. I didn't expect to have unexpected gains. First of all, the location is excellent. It is located in the center of the ancient city. It takes a few minutes to walk to various attractions in the city, and the farthest is no more than ten minutes. Ancient buildings, four archways, Daiwang Mansion, Nine Dragon Wall, Huayan Temple, Shanhua Temple, pedestrian streets and other attractions are all around. Restaurants and various local snacks are only a few minutes away. I ate the millet jelly, siu mai, knife-cut noodles, rabbit head, jelly, etc. that I had been thinking about. In addition, the inn is clean and sanitary, the service is warm, and it is convenient to travel. This trip was a pleasant surprise!

I cannot rate Tangfang Courtyard more highly. I almost don't want to write a review and reveal it to more travellers! The photos are accurate of the elegant, beauty of this courtyard based hotel. The room was high ceilinged with wooden rafters, smart, elegant shower, bowls of fruit, spoiling bedding. It was bang in the centre of the old city, yet completely tranquil in a gorgeously authentic, but quiet street. We were greeted warmly and cosily by Yezi, who welcomed us with drinks and fruit, and really couldn't do enough for us. My son is fluent in Mandarin but I don't speak a word yet still, she was eager to help me make my dairy free coffee in the morning, quickly sorted us a great, appropriately priced driver and comfortable car to go to the hanging monastery and grottoes the next day. This is unique in that is in an authentic building, elegant, yet cosy family atmosphere with a kitchen/dining room where all guests eat round the same table. The last effort Yezi and her colleagues made was to source me some of the very striking vinegar jars unique to Datong at a moment's notice, the morning we were leaving. Bearing in the mind, this was done via Google Translate, I cannot thank you them all enough. They made our stay in Datong memorable, beyond the obvious wonders of the UNESCO sites. Thank you again to all at Tangfang Courtyard. 

Hygienic: There is garbage under the sofa in the room, and there are no sanitary corners. The bedding is disposable and very clean. Sound insulation,: no noisy at night, basically no interaction between passengers. Hot water is sufficient and the water is fast. Heating is normal. Air conditioning is normal. Wi-Fi is normal. The kitchen sewer is seriously offensive, and the kitchen door is closed. The only downside is that the bedroom will enter a lot of mosquitoes in a cold day, and it seems that it does not bite people.
