Shinian B&B is the most artistic homestay I have ever stayed in. The ancient style of ink and water combines modern classical sound equipment, which can't help but make people intoxicated. The name of the room is even more wonderful. Listening to the stream, with bamboo language, distant mountains, pine photos, Tibetan pavilion, a room corresponds to a picture, The picture of Wang Wei's ”Shanju Qiuyu” ”after the new rain in the empty mountain, the weather comes late in autumn. The bright moon pine photos, the clear spring stone upstream.” The picture is extremely pleasant. The homestay is about 5 minutes' drive from the food street and Huangyao Ancient Town Scenic Area. It is convenient to travel. The key boss and the proprietress are very approachable and good at talking. If you have deep communication, you can definitely talk for a long time. It is highly recommended that friends who come to Huangyao Ancient Town to stay in this residence, they will not regret it.
Clean cosy room, awesome pool, stunning cute little village, with staff around that is super ready to help out with your every question. Though a bit far from the city of Guilin and the Yangshuo sceneries, you could still go there by cap or just experience the many available little handcraft courses in the village itself. All in all, nothing negative to remark, and a big recommend for anyone who wants to escape the rush of city life! Small tip though: keep in mind that the local restaurants may have to be booked up to a few hours in advance, which the hotel staff can arrange for you 👍
Shanshui Xianju is located in the Haokun Lake Scenic Area. The hotel has a superior geographical location. You can go to Fisherman's Wharf (cruise boat dock) from the lakeside plank road and the main traffic road in front of the hotel. You can also walk along the village road behind the hotel for about 15-20 minutes to reach the mountain plank road and lake plank road to enjoy the beautiful lake and mountain scenery.
During the trip, I also observed the B&Bs along the lake. I feel that Shanshui Xianju should be the best B&B in terms of style, facilities, hygiene, food, etc. The tea served in the hotel rooms is very good. Of course, quality and price are directly proportional, and the room rates at Shanshui Xianju should be relatively high. If I have the chance to go there again, I will choose ”Shanshui Xianju”.
Close to the river in front of the scenic spot, you can take a bamboo raft when you go out. It is good to go around for 10 yuan. The owner of this hotel is very enthusiastic. The meal coupons issued for breakfast are sent to the early department next to the hotel. You have to eat it yourself, fried dough sticks, soy milk, wontons, rice noodles, etc.

I booked two rooms with my friend. My friend's room has an indoor swing, which she was very satisfied with. This B&B is highly recommended. The interior decoration is very beautiful and the outdoor scenery is also very beautiful. The owner of the B&B is very warm and helped us arrange the subsequent itinerary and gave us sweet wine. My friend said that he would choose to stay here again next time he comes.

This was a local hotel that was situated on a peak facing Jinfoding (Golden Buddha Peak), so note it’s not on Jinfoding itself but still in the same area of Jinkeng Dazhai. I hired a driver via the hotel to fetch me from Guilin Airport to the hotel. Journey took about 3 hours using local roads, if you can somehow negotiate with your driver to take the expressway from the airport, it will be about an hour shorter and less scenic but also less nauseating. Access to hotel is pretty limited unless you hire a driver or you drive. If you take the bus from Guilin downtown/Airport, it will only alight you at the Dazhai parking lot, and you still need to make transport arrangements to get to the hotel within the scenic area (anywhere between 20-40min drive) but the boss is helpful and very contactable (phone call or wechat). I wouldn’t recommend walking to the hotel cos it is situated at the top of a pretty steep hill and it is a one-car lane that goes both ways with many blind spots. At the hotel, you could choose to walk and hike the terraces to other viewpoints in Jinkeng, but note that the routes will be very long and exhausting. If you plan to visit other villages like Ping An Zhai, it’s about an hour’s drive away on mountain roads, and it’s best if you hire a driver as well.
Overall, room was very clean and spacious and was true to trip.com description and pictures. Very comfortable, clean and scenic stay! Shower and toilet are separate and clean. There’s a bathtub situated right behind the bed, they provided disposable bathtub liner if you want to use it. Hotel is situated near one of the viewpoints in Jinkeng, but it was very misty on the day I hiked. From what I could make out through the mist, the views seem pretty epic. View from the room is great and the boss provided a welcome sweet rice wine drink with lunch which was great! The boss gave me some luohanguo as a souvenir when I checked out! Did I also mention, breakfast provided included a jar of fresh warm soy milk and a delicious bowl of rice noodles made to order! Will stay again in future!
The hotel is located opposite Huangyao Ancient Town (specifically opposite Qixing Tower). There are entrances and exits everywhere in Huangyao Ancient Town, and tickets can be entered and exited multiple times, so it is more convenient to stay opposite than inside. As for the B&B, the owner is very enthusiastic and you can buy tickets from him. The owner sells tickets for 60, the scenic spot sells for 88, and the online ticket costs 70. You can weigh it yourself. The room is very new, a bit decorated, and you can see the mountain view when you open the curtains. The family room actually only has one bathroom. The other room is just a toilet and cannot be used for bathing. There are stairs everywhere in the room, so be careful if there are children staying. Overall it's clean and hygienic, and it's a good place to stay during the weekend. There is also a restaurant downstairs, and guests can get a 12% discount on dining. The taste is quite good and fits our Cantonese taste very well. There are many noodle shops on the streets outside and even in the ancient town, so breakfast is easy to solve and it is a suitable place to relax and unwind.

Very nice hotel with a modern but minimalist style. Good location with a wonderful view on the mountains, close to the river and one of the main roads. Service was excellent and the employees were considerate and nice, and tended to any needs we had. Breakfast has not a lot of choices, but the quality and simplicity makes up for it. The photo shooting they offer was an interesting activity. The photographer and the team were patient and took the time to make this an enjoyable and fun experience. The pictures came out very well.

It is really a city in the sky, with a wide view. I lazily drink tea in the room and look directly at the magnificent terraces. The scenery is beautiful! The hotel rooms are comfortably and uniquely decorated. I especially like the mini multifunctional book bar, where I read, make tea, and brew coffee. Occasionally, I look up at the unobstructed view of the thousand-level terraces outside the window. I have been so comfortable these two days! The hotel service is also very thoughtful, and the personalized service covers all aspects. Because it is located on the top of the mountain, the road is rugged and difficult. The hotel is very considerate to send a car to lead the way and carry the luggage. For the farther attractions, the hotel takes the safety of the guests into consideration and takes the initiative to arrange vehicles to take the guests to see the scenery. It is very good 👍 In short, the city in the sky is worthy of its name, and I will come again! Check-in from March 6 to 8, 2025!

It was great. I had dinner at the hotel. The spring chicken was delicious. The service was great. The front desk ladies were very sweet. The hotel environment was very clean. I could see the sunrise over the terraced fields from my bed. It was also very close to the observation deck. I had a lot of fun. The hotel facilities were complete. The driver who helped with the pick-up was very skilled! The experience was great. I hope to stay here again in another season.

WWangdachuiaaThe room is super big. It's nice to have such facilities in the mountains. I will go there again next time. The only problem is that the doors are made of wood and are a bit bad after a long time. There is a big gap when the door is closed.

PPrairieTruthfully, I am having time finding words, and that's unusual for me. I must admit I was disappointed when Yangshuo Mountain Retreat cancelled my booking because of a wedding that had booked the place, but the photos of the garden sold me. I've been to Yangshuo perhaps five times over the last 10 years, and have stayed in every kind of place there-from a cheap hostel to the boutique rooms but my dream was to stay at YMR, where I always stop and have a whiskey by the river.
When we pulled into Liqui Town, I realized I had not explored this part of the valley and was disoriented. But then the staff greeted us, carried in our bags, gave us tea, peanuts, and oranges, and set to taking care of our every need. They were this way with us from start to finish-sending us off with a bag of fresh mandarin oranges and hugs-and a promise to send an invoice for our remaining expenses-which we still have not gotten!
Apart from the wonder of just those details, the food was exquisite, our farmhouse room was stylish and simple yet so thoroughly Chinese-in the most real and unassuming way. It was an honor and a pleasure to sip tea in the farmhouse and look at the many woodcut posters and Chinese propaganda songs on the walls while staring up from the tea table to the simply elegant clay tile roof resting on the original beams, feeling the mud bricks breathe out their history silently under a soft rain and the early crows of the neighborhood roosters. I
If one is quiet and still, I believe this little gem will give up her secrets, her history, and the story and true feeling of old-time village life amongst the stunning splatters of karst and water. We enjoyed watching the staff use the traditional well to clean up around the property, and the garden did not disappoint. Truly magical and filled with bonsai that some local master has been enjoying for many years. The food was excellent. We spoke with some Chinese tourists on the way out who were very disappointed with the local version of beer fish, ah but ours was exquisite, along with the drinks and italian food. It's very rare to find this mix of culture, authenticity, generosity, and good service all wrapped into a package that does nearly guarantee the fulfillment of the motto the girls wear on their shirts, ”be inspired....”
I would recommend this to anyone. 谢谢你们!

GGuest UserReally enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The location was good it was just 10-15 mins away from west street by taxi so it was quiet but easily accessible. The view of the river from the room was amazing and didn't have anything blocking the view.. I didn't expect it to actually look like the pictures on the website but it really was a beautiful room. There was a few letdowns, even though there was daily maid service, the room was pretty dusty when we arrived and there was quite a few bits of wear and tear like peeling plaster on the walls that lowered the standard of the place. The staff were really helpful and went out their way to to help us plan a day trip etc. Overall I'd go back to this place, Its quiet, cheap and has everything you need for a few days.

GGuest UserIt is two streets away from the main street (West Street) so a very nice location to be close to all the restaurants and stores but away from the noise (specially at night). We were at the top floor (no elevator) but had an amazing balcony a nice views of the river. Best bed of our entire trip for sure, would have taken it home if it fit in our luggage. The only thing is that the name is not written anywhere, so it is a bit tricky to find. 10 meters away from the corner entrance there is another hostel called Teaside Inn or something similar. That’s the place you need to go to get the key. Very nice stay all in all, they also rent motorbikes in case you want to get one.

EErikaAmazing hotel with a heartbreaking view. The location is super good, in the countryside but close to a few restaurants, shops, electrical bike rent, and some scenic spots but also at 10/15 min driving from yangshuo city. The room was huge, as was the bathroom as well, the bed was super comfortable and the bathtub with the view as the balcony was priceless. The staff is really nice and they speak English so the communication was easy. Breakfast with traditional guilin noodles was also super good, highly recommended

RrodrigopmpsWe slept one night during our stay in Xingping. The location is perfect, just next to the main street, 1 min walk to the ferry which takes you to the other side where you'll find buggies that take you to the top of the Xianggongshan mountain and 15 min walk to the bamboo rafts where the true landscape of the 20 CNY bill lies.
The hotel workers don't speak English but do all the efforts to help you out by using the translator. The boss/manager however, speaks perfectly English. If you have WeChat you'll be added to a chat where you can talk to her and ask anything you want. She will also help you with any ticket booking that you need. In a matter of minutes they organized tickets for both the bamboo raft (which in Yangshuo was almost impossible to get if you didn't queue up at 6 am...) and helicopter (highly recommended!). So we were truly impressed by how they helped us out, since we had the idea of what to do but clearly needed this efficiency and local contacts to do it smoothly. The room was very spacious and all amenities needed (they didn't have an iron in the room but it took 2 minutes for them to bring it to our room when we asked :) ). We had a great view on the 4th floor (also very recommendable as the street is very close and the high floor might add some extra privacy. The rooms clearly state the floor when you book them, so take the advantage!). There is some room for improvement in the lobby but we passed on our feedback and they seemed very eager to improve, so we truly believe it can only get better. We weren't told the breakfast options nor saw any facilities to serve it but as an exception we bought some stuff at the mini market right next to the hotel entrance which was very convenient. The check-out was relatively flexible and we were given an extra hour which was a blessing for us after a sweaty hike on the Xianggongshan mountain. All in all we were very happy with our stay!
