This place was nice and cosy. It was the perfect size for our family of 5 (2 adults + 3 children 8,4,2) huge bathroom upstairs and a washing machine downstairs in the other washroom. Was clean and tidy upon arrival :) We chose this place to be within the 5th ring for our private transfer to the Great Wall. It has a little convenient store just outside the building. It is also within walking distance to shops/restaurants and a plaza too. Communication with host was all done through WeChat and the instructions given were easy to follow. Even when I was unsure of something, I was able to contact the host easily and they were able to answer my questions and queries in a timely manner. Only con I had was the smell of smoke throughout the building but that did not effect our stay too much! Also couldn’t quite understand how to use the tv/projector, but didn’t bother us too much either as we were out most of the day, and was just wanting it in the evenings to unwind :)

So far very satisfied with this apartment, the owner provides complete directions to the location, how to enter the apartment. The environment in this apartment building is safe, not noisy and I feel comfortable going in and out of the apartment. The apartment area is very large for a price that is still affordable for the area. Complaints about a slightly damaged door were responded to quickly by the owner and immediately repaired when we arrived. . Beds, towels and toiletries are complete like hotel standards and even exceed their completeness. It's just that there are no kitchen utensils, only paper cups are provided. Microwave and small stove are available. . The location is very close to supermarkets, small malls and not too far from the Sanlitun area. My conclusion is that I highly recommend this apartment.

My fiance and I just left and we LOVED it! The room was clean and the staff was VERYYY nice!! The workers made sure we were comfortable and recommended we sit and chill in the building with the pond with Coy fish during down time. They served us complimentary tea as well as we sat. It was a very nice atmosphere in there. Down the walkway is a restaurant that serves DELICIOUS food! I wish we had of tried them before our last day in Beijing because we would’ve been there everyday. If you stay and see a mid-aged lady asking you to try her restaurant, do it..you won’t regret it and she’s really nice as well! Again, the staff and room was fantastic!

The landlord is very nice and upgraded the room type. The environment upstairs and downstairs is great and the children are happy. The sleep is very comfortable, the floor is heated, and there is parking at the door. It is super convenient, good value for money and very close to Universal Studios. It is convenient for eating, staying and playing. I will stay here again next time I come.

Overall very good, the room is very clean. I brought two children to Beijing, and the housekeeper helped upgrade the parent-child room when he saw that we were with the children. The child didn't even go to Universal Studios when he was having fun. He also helped print the child's homework and provided an eye protection lamp, which was very considerate. Because we had to leave early the next day, the housekeeper brought bread and milk a day in advance. The free shuttle to Universal Studios is very convenient. There are convenience stores, restaurants, and coffee shops around. There are not many people and it is not chaotic, very quiet.

The front desk staff helped us out from before we even got there until the moment we left. We did all our booking and traveling ourselves and the location on DiDi is in Chinese. We added the hotel on WeChat and they helped us find multiple ways to get there. They check on our well being and traveling status the entire trip until we arrived. When we arrived with DiDi they welcomed us with delicious food from the restaurant. They helped us with getting to the Great Wall and even helped us book our DiDi to the airport. When we left they gave us a small gift. The service I amazing for foreigners traveling to China without a tour group. The location is stunning and the room was so clean and comfy. Thank you for making our stay memorable ❤️. They also have an adorable cat who is very friendly.

The location is close to the airport, there is a pick-up and drop-off, the price is cheap, the room is super clean, the bed is very comfortable, and the sleep is super fragrant. The breakfast is very rich, there are various local specialties, and the taste is great! The service is also very intimate and problems can be solved at any time. Very cost-effective!

This is the best homestay I've ever stayed in! ! The hotel is very friendly, the owner is very kind and the hotel is very clean, quiet and clean. And it is very close to Universal Studios, which is really convenient and comfortable. Moreover, their bathing facilities are very comfortable and clean. There is really nothing wrong with them! ! I have to emphasize again that the boss is a really nice person. I wish your business prospers and everything goes well.

Very well located; close to two subway stations and plenty of restaurants, cafes and grocery stores. Clean and cosy rooms, although the walls are a bit thin and you can hear other rooms. But that is not a deterrent factor. Staff was extremely friendly and went above and beyond to provide an outstanding service. They helped us keep our luggage before and after checking out, provided recommendations on places where we could eat. Will definitely stay again if the chance occurs.

GGuest UserThis was a wonderfully unique experience for us living in a (fully renovated) stone house in an ancient village at the foot of the Great Wall. March is a great time to visit if you prefer peace and quiet and few tourists. The inn is quaint and pleasant. The room is small and cozy, and the ambience, including the large bay window overlooking the street and the large wooden beams on the ceiling, makes you feel like you really are living in another era. The inn is located inside the Watertown, so you will need to walk a bit from the entrance of the Watertown. It is centrally located in the Watertown, so you are right in the middle of all the fun and activity. We really appreciated the free luggage service - you drop off your luggage at the entrance when you purchase tickets and enter the Watertown, and they bring your luggage to your inn. Once you’re done enjoying the Watertown and Great Wall, your luggage is waiting for you at the inn. Breakfast at the inn was absolutely delicious - highly recommend trying the wonton soup and the fresh soy milk!

TTetrapoueteIt can be quite difficult to find a place which can accommodate a family of 5 all at once so we were very happy to see 3 double beds in the family room. The room is bright and clean, the hotel location is very good. Around 10min away from Universal park; there are 2 free shuttle buses in the morning (7.20 am and 8.20 am) but you can also easily get a taxi/ Didi to there. There are several chinese restaurants right in front of the hotel. The person who welcomed us was very nice and helpful. I saw some comments saying toiletries would not be renewed from one day to another. You actually have to scan the Wechat QR code located next to the hotel door (street side) and the hotel staff will then help you to book the shuttle bus to the park or renew the toiletries the next day. The bed will not be redone though, that would be some possible improvement. Besides this, we will totally come back to this place.

A very perfect B&B. The room is clean and tidy, with complete facilities and perfect sound insulation. There is no noise. You can see many stars from the terrace. The boss's service is attentive and attentive. The food is very delicious. He can help buy tickets and deliver it to the ropeway entrance in the morning. I experienced the unmanned version of the Great Wall in the morning. If you have the chance to come back in the future, you will stay here again!

AAnonymous UserStayed for 2 nights in Oct 2024, planned for 1 night to visit around the town itself and another night for the Simatai Great Wall. 1. Location - Inn is located within Gubei Watertown and it is necessary to go through the watertown to visit the Simatai Great Wall. By booking an accommodation within the town gives you discounted entrance price into the town and since we planned to visit the great wall and explore the town itself we have decided to stay for 2 nights (also partly the cost and time to travel there from Beijing). Inn is located near the main square where some performances are held and near a shuttle service stop (free shuttle services within town if you’re staying in an accommodation within town. Overall a good location within town. 2. Room - Booked a family room for 4 (2 single beds in each level). Room is mostly made of wood hence its not really a modern feel and its not really sound-proof which the staff has notified in advance. Room is spacious and bathroom is big. Stairs that goes up to the 2nd level is stable but can be a little steep for seniors. Overall the room is decent. It comes with tomatoes, peanuts and tea as welcome gift. 3. Luggage - There’s a luggage service whereby you can arrange for your luggage to be transported to your hotel from entrance, and from hotel back to entrance. This is definitely needed as the ground in the watertown is not a smooth surface and can be hard to carry your luggages around. 4. Services & breakfast - Staff’s services is really good and efficient! Breakfast is simple but has good variety. There’s the buffet portion which consists of small dishes for porridge, bread, bun, drinks etc. And there’s an alacarte portion where you need to order in advance the night before such as bacon, egg, sausages, noodles etc. i think its a good initiative to avoid wastage. Overall a very good stay and would recommend if you are visiting Gubei Watertown and would like to stay in a more traditional feel.

KKishI recently had the pleasure of staying at Zhaohua Homestay, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. From the very beginning, the staff were incredibly friendly, professional, and helpful. They added us on WeChat a week prior to our arrival, where they promptly answered all our questions and even sent us detailed location information. This proactive communication made us feel welcomed and well-prepared for our stay. The homestay itself is just as beautiful as the pictures on their website. When we entered our room, we were immediately impressed by how cozy it felt. The temperature was perfectly set, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere, and the room smelled clean and fresh, which was a lovely touch. One of the highlights of our stay was the hot spring water—soothing and warm, which was exactly what we needed given the unexpected snowy weather. In the evening, they kindly offered us hot milk or soup to help us unwind, and in the morning, a delicious Western breakfast with fresh orange juice was delivered right to our door. It was such a thoughtful and special touch. An added bonus was the stunning view from the courtyard, where we could see the Great Wall! The homestay is within walking distance of a less crowded area of the Great Wall, where we paid just 35 RMB per person to experience it. It was beautiful and peaceful, offering the perfect opportunity to truly admire the historic site without the usual crowds. The location itself is perfect for a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The air is fresh, and at night, the stars are visible, adding to the tranquility of the area. It’s incredibly quiet, making it the ideal place to relax and recharge. Overall, I had an amazing experience at Zhaohua Homestay, and I would definitely visit again. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with exceptional service, breathtaking views, and a beautiful setting, this place is an absolute gem.

GGuest UserThe staff is super nice and the room feels like a real home because you have a living room and a kitchen and a comfortable western style bathroom. I really loved my stay here. I could see myself living in that apartment. Its one of the best most comfortable places i have stayed in Beijing. Apple community is a really good location with a lot of good restaurants nearby. Its a very artistic area. The staff has a friendy bird named Bai Bai.

Nnate8991I'll start with the good. For the price we paid, the rooms were much better than expected. Comfy bed and spacious. There is definitely potential here if they can work out some of the kinks. As for the negatives. When we arrived, we waited for 20 minutes in the lobby before someone came to help us. It was 8 pm, so not an abnormal hour where this might make some sense. In the room itself, the only issues were that the shower head was completely broken so it just came out like it was a bathtub faucet. Surprisingly, this actually was kind of nice but certainly should be fixed. There also was a roll of toilet paper that was rock hard and turned to dust when agitated. Again, no staff around to ask for more. The location is about 15 minutes from Daxing airport with a few chinese restaurants and shops around. This would be a strong point for this hotel, however we found ourselves completely unable to book a didi (taxi) in the morning. Again, we searched for staff to call for us with no luck. Eventually we walked about 10 minutes to a busier road and after 20 minutes we finally were able to flag down a taxi. He knew we were desperate and refused to drive us for anything less than 3 times what the rate should have been, even with us being able to speak chinese. By that time we were late and desperate and ended up paying about what the room cost us for the night for a 10 minute drive. With all that said, I might still stay here again if I had a ride to the airport in the morning planned out ahead of time. Like I said, this still has potential but the staff should be more attentive and offering set up rides to the airport would be a plus.

GGuest UserMr. Yang the owner of this hotel was very helpful in giving me directions to the places as well as taking the time to answer all of my questions that I had about the area that it was in, in the Simetai part of the Wall and Gubei Watertown. I greatly appreciate him giving me an upgrade to a bigger room! This room was very spacious it had a kitchen, unfortunately I wasn't able to cook anything due to it not being very close to any major grocery store which didn't help me. The location was very far from any major grocery stores to shop at, but I at least liked how it was at this part of the Great Wall where I am glad to have gotten the opportunity to climb it. I understand and don't blame Mr. Yang for wanting to locate a hotel out in this part of town due to already there being a lot of hotels in the city center parts of the town. I like Mr. Yang's place better than the place that I am staying at right now, as I mention, it's too bad it was too far out of town for me through no fault of his own. I appreciate him giving me directions on which bus was best for me to take back into town eventhough I didn't need it. Would be more than happy to come back to his place again if the circumstances fit me. I am still interested in keeping in touch with Mr. Yang and wouldn't mind getting together with him if it is convenient for the both of us! I will continue to keep in touch with him if I have any questions to ask him about certain parts of Beijing or if I want to share anything with him about me or talk to him about anything when it is convenient for me to talk to him!!
