The location is ok. The facility is seem too old. The service is not good during Sunday because no cleaning service. However, they arrange another room to compensate such problem.

The upgraded room is 600,000 VND. It is very large. It is about 40 square meters. The windows are large. It is facing the park. The bathroom is separate. Others are very good. The bed is too hard.

We arrived in the evening from Tam Coc. One good thing about the line buses in Cat Ba is that almost all of them will drop you off and pick you up at the door of your hotel (if it is central). The hotel is like most of the city: it is the width of a room and does not shine for any luxury. Ours of ”Palace” only had the sign although there were older ones. From the start, the elevator smelled incredibly musty and the room we were given (3 beds, no balcony, smell of lightning...) did not correspond to the theoretically luxurious ”Bridal Suite” reserved. They moved us to the main façade and, although it was the same as the one in the photos, luckily it shouldn't have been the scene of a honeymoon trip... it was quite worn and not at all attractive (at least it didn't smell musty ). It wasn't small, but it wasn't big either. It had a balcony facing the street (with a railing so short that it invited you not to go out, under penalty of suicide for the theoretical boyfriends) and views that were more or less good as it was a high floor. Large bed, with a hard mattress and acceptable sheets. Worn furniture, a.a. and satellite tv. Minibar with courtesy water. Small, old bathroom with a curious sink whose countertop had been cut just enough to be able to sit **** (sideways) on the toilet without suffering major damage. Shower equally old with a window to an alley, weak pressure and towels to change. We didn't get to have breakfast on either of the two days, because the room was tiny, unattractive and the buffet was poor and poorly presented (we bought some milkshakes and cookies). Wifi ok. We understand that it is a highly touristic place with a lot of demand and that shows in the poor quality of the hotels. Despite the positive (?) comments, we would surely look for another hotel.

The room was very large. When I booked, there was no place for the 10-person room. In fact, I arranged a 10-person room for me, just a Vietnamese girl. The landlord is not often there and must call to shake people. There is a disadvantage. The military number starts to blow at 5:30. It is estimated that you can hear it anywhere in Haiphong.

We booked for one night in a bungalow on top for 3 people. We were paid for a room supplement because we were three, and, even if there were indeed two double beds the room apparently was not planned for three ... We gave our washing to ask when This could be finished because we went on a trip early the morning and we were told that we would have them in the evening. We were asked to come back a little later, once we had a more people eating. When we arrived at the hotel following our trip we were welcomed by a welcome staff but we were surprised to discover a room (in spite of the paid surcharge) prepared for 2: two bathrooms for 3, 1 only true duvet face to a small supplement cover for the second bed and finally NO HEAT EAU. We tried to contact the staff but from 10PM no more is present. At the time of check-out, we present the various concerns we have met. It will have to do foot and hands to get a discount of 100.000 VND for hot water since the patron having checked by itself indicates that yes hot water works well but we have been badly taken. Then we have never seen so difficult to put a key in a box and push it up. However, after taking us off and remitting the discount we get a gain of cause. Thanks to the receptionist who, he, has remained calm and comprehensive.
