Mira Montra Resort Koh Mak

This is a newly opened place Not all rooms are open yet be under construction The staff here are very kind Service education, very well minded We wanted to stay here longer, I only said that the hotel has no rooms But there were definitely vacancies in our eyes I don't know why they don't make reservations That was a bit disappointing If I visit this island again, I want to visit again The food at the restaurant tastes good, The price is too high It doesn't matter if it's expensive You'll have to prepare something for the price Whether it's increasing the amount of food or plenching, I need to make a difference
The Mak Trat

One of the best hotels out there, and I have visited many around the world. Certainly not everything is perfect, but it fully deserves the 5 stars. We have just stayed there for five nights and leave you a sincere and objective opinion. Advantages: ABSOLUTE CALM associated with the charm of this Resort. The design of the hotel is fantastic, everything is beautiful and both the construction and the decoration are great. The infinity pool has a breathtaking view, and the small villas are magnificent and very comfortable. I highly recommend getting one with a roof terrace, it's great. The prices at the hotel seem reasonable to me, more expensive than outside without being prohibitive (ex: 200 baht for a pad Thai). The food is also very good, including the pastries. Note that the hotel offers a taxi service at 50 baht per person, scooters 400 baht per day (250 on average outside) and golf carts at 800 baht for 5 hours. Everything is more expensive than outside but compared to Europe it is very inexpensive. Cons: The location of the hotel is a bit out of the way, but with a scooter it only takes a few minutes to go to the beautiful beaches. Speaking of the beach, that of the hotel is not the best on the island for swimming but the look is very beautiful and when the conditions are met swimming remains pleasant. Then there is the service. The staff is really friendly but these young people lack experience. In addition, many speak poor English which sometimes causes misunderstandings. But they are so nice that in the end it is not so serious, you have to know how to be tolerant, with time things will improve. In short, I would stay there again!
Plub Pla Koh Mak Retreat

Considering how remote it is, the island is worth a visit. We can't expect to be able to come to such a small and cozy place with an airport, now, can we? Well, this place will no longer be a private residence, yes... every beautiful modern The bungalows are a little paradise of their own. The hotel rooms and pool and restaurant are quaint and elegant, so everything is immaculate. The staff are great. I like not being bothered by the western style of sales. I wanted to ask what I wanted, and with that, I was never interrupted, never interrupted, when I asked for a drink. Really, waking up to such an affordable drink served in a glass with ice is an absolute treat in such a beautiful location. The open restaurant is just a few steps away from the sea. Great food for such a low price. Super easy walkways lead to each private bungalow. It's not a great feeling to read the reviewers' comments, well, where do you think you're going to travel? If you feel like you belong in this resort, then here you go. It reminds me of the feeling and atmosphere when I first visited Koh Chang 20 years ago. Just, such high end. To create the atmosphere, it costs double to stay in these rooms compared to the rest of the world. Yes, there is shallow water and very attractive black rocks. Before you go, please take note of this and please enjoy this beautiful pool. You can also rent a motorbike or golf cart to go to the beach. Everyone is happy here and a review on trip advisor can really make a difference in a person's life and business. Please take into account where we are talking, for example, there are no remote islands where the wifi would not be without signal. And just because a server isn't an *****, doesn't mean he doesn't want to help you. We really love this resort, we were there last February and we will be going back this November. We've been all the way to Thailand just to get pah bala. It's quiet, all private and the house feels perfect. Please make sure to contact me when you have specific questions. I know how important our choices are.
Ao Pong Resort

This was our second stay at Ao Pong Resort - and we enjoyed it as much as our first stay! This time we spend 9 days. Ao Pong Resort is a small and quiet place at the southeast part of the island with a private beach. The (Deluxe) bungalows are very nice. Not only the sleeping/living room is big, but also the bathroom area is spacious with separate bath and toilet rooms. The balcony is also very large with an awesome sea view. There is refrigerator, a fan, and air conditioner in the bungalows. The small private beach just outside the bungalows offers nice snorkeling opportunities. The Ao Pong Resort kitchen offers a delicious all day menu at reasonable prices. There is restaurants and convenient stores in walking distance. We rented a motor bike from the hosts which enabled us to get around the entire island very easily. The host couple are REALLY nice and will do their absolute best to make your stay as pleasant as possible. We will for sure come back to Koh Mak, and there is no doubt that we will stay at Ao Pong Resort the next time as well. You can reach Michal via Ao Pong Resort Facebook page.
Makathanee Resort

We had a great stay at Makathanee! We splurged and had a beach view bungalow … which was amazing! The room was spacious, the bed was soft and comfy, the view was amazing and the sound of the surf was loud. The resort grounds are pretty and well maintained. We never went to the pool but walked by and nobody was there. The chairs on the grass by the beach were always full. The beach was clean and inviting and the water was warm. Good things: nice (10/10) staff, good breakfast, nice restaurant on the roof and good location. We had a few meals nearby on the street and rented a bike to explore the island. We also enjoyed the restaurants and bars on the beach nearby. You are not isolated at this resort. Not so good things: the only thing we didn’t like was the old, broken chairs on our patio and on the grass. Not that important- but something they could plan to replace. Great location, peaceful but not boring, great facility
Islanda Resort Hotel

Resort is on top of a hill so no direct beach access. Closest beach is cococape beach which is beautiful and if you just go around the corner you will have a lonely beach with beautiful dark rocks stuck in the white sand. Another great beach is close to seavana and koh mak resort about 15 min walking. Motorbike rental is 250 baht per day and gas ablut 40 baht per liter. Massages are 350 baht per hour. It was the best massage I had in all of Thailand. Kayak rental can be done at cococape or koh mak resort. Hotel has a pick up service for free when you arrive at the pier. There are many live concerts at various locations on the island as well as fireshows and night markets. The resort itself is very clean, quiet, AC works fine and shower has hot water. Pool is cleaned everyday and breakfast was very good. Staff is super friendly. I paid about 90 USD per night which is a high price for koh mak, but compared to other resorts it is very high standard resort. Never had problems with sandflies (I stayed for 8 days) but I do recommend to take mosquito spray.
