Bed is nice. Pillows are ok. Nice floor to ceiling glass window. Cleaning staff are very good. Accessible to airport and to city proper. Allowing my friends to visit and hangout. Lack of basic complimentary such as coffee or tea or electric kettle. Complimentary water is limited, if you drink water on average, you have to pay for more. You can ask hair dryer because it’s not readily available in the room. Lack of hygiene kit. Q-tip and shower cap not available. Even a tissue box in the bedroom and bin is not available. I buy my own kleenex box. This hotel is not for long term use, I mean 1 night is ok. But more than 1 night is not advisable for me. I stayed for 6 nights. So it was NOT as comfortable as I thought. They know I will stay for 6 nights and they give me room without hangin place for clothes😅 very small room. Salt and pepper restaurant staff needs to be more professional in answering phone calls, they have to treat each call properly. Every time I call they answer the phone like it’s their personal mobile and they are laughing and talking while I was on the line. BREAKFAST is scanty. Lastly, it would be great if your front desk can help guest for their needs. It really matters if they’d go an extra mile just to serve a guest. Ex: guest needs massage or any spa services; and front desk will answer. “I don’t know” If you are foreign to Calbayog and you don’t know anything in there. Don’t stay here. But if you don’t need to ask help from them, you can stay. But aside from the mentioned. Everything was good and ok.

What a great place, quite peaceful with amazing views, the free boat trip is worth upgrading to see more, great scenery. Food was good, breakfast had plenty of options bar menus were great to eat while sat under cover on the beach edge , drinks were cold so I’d happily go back.

Basic, but clean hotel. Ideal location near Metro supermarket and close to the wharf to catch the Seacat to Cebu. Breakfast was rice-based but adequate. Great view from room across to the cathedral and the wharf, etc.
Asia Novo Boutique Hotel - Catbalogan

Catbalogan is a small city in Samar, and we stayed there because we were traveling from North Samar to Eastern Samar. It was too far a trip, especially when commuting. We took advantage of the terminal that one of the vans provided, and so we found ourseves in Catbalogan. What I appreciate about Asia Novo is their spacious room, and despite being in the heart of the city, it's quiet. However, for those who have walking issues, it may be a bit of a challenge since their hotel lobby is located on the 2nd floor and then the rooms are even located on the higher floors with only stairs as access. They have no restaurant within the hotel, but it's a good thing that they are near fast-food chains like Mang Inasal, and Jollibee. They do sell water, and other snack items. All in all, Grand Novo Boutique Hotel is a good place to stay in, especially if you're moving from one destination to another. This is not a luxurious hotel for staycation but the hotel does its job as a good place to rest.

The hotel is slightly off the main street ascare several others but the drivers know how to get there. About 10 minutes from Calbayog airport. It's very close to the fowntown shopping area. There is room service but I did not use it or eat there, but the menu looked good. It's quiet and the room was adequate, clean, and there is WiFi in the room. I would definitely consider staying again, and there are others nearby that I also like. Calbayog is an interesting city, kind of a smaller version of Manila without the skyscrapers.
