Hotel Al Larin

(+) Hotel Al Larin is a very good option to stay for a few nights in Cortina d'Ampezzo. It is not located in the city center, which might be a plus for some people and a minus for others. For us it was a plus, because we came to Veneto region to see the mountains and not for shopping. The hotel has a private parking, so it won't be an issue, if you come by car. Keep in mind that the check in time is between 2 and 8 p.m. It is better to come before 8 p.m., because there is no one at the reception after that till morning. Breakfast is very good. The hotel offers omelette, bacon, mini-sausages, ham, cheese, toasts, croissants with jam or chocolate, different cake every day, joghurt with muesli or corn flakes, fruits, buns, various jams, tea, coffee, juices. Our room 12 was on the second floor, very well equipped. An excellent restaurant El Zoco is just 300 meters away. If you like pizza, you can get 10% discount for Il Ponte pizzeria (try quattro formaggi!). Very nice and helpful personnel at the reception. (-) If you have disabilities, bear in mind that the hotel does not have a lift.

If Cortina wasn’t under so much construction for the Olympics this may have been so much better. But as it was this hotel was different than any I have ever stayed in. The style and quirkiness was very cool! Our room had a balcony that I’m sure is very nice if not looking at a crane lol. The beds were great and the pillows amazing. Breakfast was good as well. If you are looking for style, art and a cool quirky place this is it!!!

I chose the hotel based ok it’s location to town and ski facilities since skiing was the reason I came to Cortina. It was PERFECT! Very welcoming every-time I returned back to the hotel. The breakfast had a broad selection of pastries including warm croissants, made to order scrambled eggs, plus typical other aspects of continental breakfasts and good cappuccinos, served 730-930. Rooms are all well Maintained, cleaned daily and in good condition. Yup pThe ski buses (to Tofana/socrates/Faloria) is literally at the end of the driveway and they have a ski room in the garage. If you bring a padlock, you can lock them but it seems pretty secure. Faloria ski resort is a quick walk by road or around up and over the pedestrian bridge. The bus station is also very close as I took the Cortina Express to/from VCE. They were super flexible with a late checkout since I had planned to ski and had a evening bus. So thrilled that I switched from Rosapetra to here for both the ease of the stay and value.

- [ ] A “vintage” hotel that made me make a beautiful duck in the past. All very comfortable and comfortable, not modern but practical and the service very nice and available. Unlike the many cold and impersonal anonymous hotels, this has remained true to itself, with good taste and harmonious: what is so rare in these times! Today, hotels are very high and very expensive or the average level is full of unscrupulous, anonymous and low-quality modernity.

If you like the mountains, Cortina is for you. Cortina d'Ampezzo will be the location for the 2026 Winter Olympics and it was selected for the famous movie ”Cliffhanger” with Stallone back in the mid 90s. This hotel is a true gem, right in the center of the city, close to shops & restaurants. The rooms have been recently renovated and are great. Breakfast is included and good enough to allow you to skip lunch. Despite its central location, this hotel is quite affordable, much cheaper that many hotels in the vicinity and even across the street. Highly recommended.

We stayed for 4 nights during the last week of September and early October & it was our first time in the Dolomites. It was walking distance to town and there is free parking in the hotel. It was in a good location where restaurants and shops are walking distance. We ate dinner in restaurants close by. At check in, the reception gave us a list of recommended restaurants. The staff were nice. The breakfast was filling and they offered a variety of food and drinks. The pastries were not so good. We had better ones in the hotel at Val Gardena. On our first night, there was a big bus and in the morning, the breakfast area was so full & chaotic. There was almost no table available. The coffee/espresso maker line was very long and they ran out of cups, etc. I felt sorry for the staff who looked overwhelmed. Thank goodness that the next 3 days were better since we were in a rush to go to the mountains. We had a standard room in the Annex with a good view of the mountains & a little patio with chairs. It was quiet at night. The room rate we got was reasonably priced for the area. I was a little chilly at night and the hotel staff told us that they don’t turn on the gas until winter. Overall, our stay was good.
