Best Western Lichfield City Centre the George Hotel
3.9/542 Reviews
We stayed at the George Hotel for a wedding and the location was perfect as the wedding was at the Guildhall around the corner. We didn't pay for breakfast as this was £14 but there are plenty of cafes nearby to eat at. The room was clean and tidy and very good black-out curtains. We di have a few issues with the booking when we arrived. We requested that our family had a room as close to ours as possible (due to helping out with out 2 year old). We were advised they would try their best and the rooms are allocated a few days before which was fine as we appreciate these were separate bookings. I called the day before and was told that the rooms were right next to each other and that a travel cot was provided too, which was great. However, when we arrived in the rooms the travel cot was not there (although this was brought up very quickly by a staff member) and when the other party arrived the rooms were on completely different floors. We understand it's not always possible to request the room locations, but as we were told they were next to each other on the same floor when called beforehand, this was disappointing. It was mentioned by the other party at check-out but they said they tried and wasn't able to book the rooms together, although this was different to what was told on the phone. There was also conflicting information about the parking charges as the FAQs at the time when we stayed said the parking was free when booking direct. This has now been removed from the site to match. Despite the above, we had a lovely stay and would definitely book again for the location and comfort of the hotel.
Premier Inn Lichfield City Centre
4.2/541 Reviews
We used this hotel as a stop-over before visiting Lichfield Cathedral (which is a MUST DO). Hotel is very easy to locate, and is as central to the town as you could wish for. Car Park to the rear, plentiful, and only £4 for 24hrs! Lots of small, independent shops, bars, and cafes all within a few minutes walk of the hotel. This Premier Inn was very stereotypical of the PI brand; standard decor, standard rooms, comfy beds, decent shower, very basic, and everything very clean. Worth mentioning, the wonderful, warm welcome from Claire on reception (25/02/24).
