this hotel was 0.6km from haram. Literally at our door step. Its entrance to the new part of the masjid which is soo good. Its rooms are spacious and they are child friendly. I got a travel cot provided for free. If I return I will 100% look at this hotel first.

Check-in: Awful. I waited patiently until one of the two clerks sent me to the doorman. ??? The doorman sent me back and upon returning to the check in counter the other clerk told me in a raised voice to just wait 10 minutes as they are busy. I was totally confused as I don't pester anyone. Anyway, I waited on a couch. Then another person walked in and that second clerk proceeded to check that person in. I looked at both of the clerks. Then the first clerk told the other that he needs to check me in first. Then first he couldn't find my booking and asked for an email from Trip. When I presented it he said never mind I found the booking. Just crazy. Room: Okay. Bed was too soft for my liking. Only tea, no coffee. No creamer. No toiletries except liquid soap/shower gel. The desk was only cleaned in the front while the back of the desk and phone was full of dust. The toilet drain (on the 14th floor) was smelly. The mugs which were black looked like they were just rinsed and still had stains inside that I had to lean myself. I left a note requesting for coffee and toiletrie ins such as toothbrushes, toothpaste and earbuds. We got two small pouches of coffee and only one toothbrush and small toothpaste. No earbuds. Food: We had breakfast included. We also had dinner at the hotel on one night. The breakfast was quite good except for the juice and the coffee. The dinner was a notch lower than the breakfast in terms of selection and quality of the food. I would not recommend the dinner. Shuttle bus: Good. The hotel uses small busses that I actually preferred as we never needed to wait long for the buss to fill up. If you missed a buss, the next bus would arrived almost immediately. 7.5 minutes to the Haram and 12.5 minutes back. Check out: perfect. We just handed in the key cards and that's it. Check out took all of 3 seconds. Overall: The Novotel Thakher City was okay just that it did not meet my expectations. I would not rate this as a four star hotel.
Makkah Clock Royal Tower, A Fairmont Hotel

I arrived to the hotel at 10 and the lady in the reception told us to go and do the Omra and come back to get the rooms, I am a gold Fairmont member which was treated badly. We came back at 2:30 and noticed that the rooms are not ready and have been told that the check in time is 4PM, however before one day of arrival they called me to ask me what time do I want the room to be ready. Each customer receptionist was directing me to another where this wasn’t practical at all, image I was awake more than 12 hours and at the end of the day each on just throws me. Then after having a fight we got the rooms finally, I get to know that one of the rooms is full of insects and the other room is noisy from the neighbors. When I called to tell the reception after several fights they changed both rooms, we had to wait more than 15 minutes for the escalators. Overall my experience with this hotel is really baaaaaaad and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. The only positive point was that it’s few steps to the Haram other than that nothing is worth it at all, even when you speak to someone from the receptionist they don’t reply as of they don’t listen and in my case I am a gold member plus trip advisor level 6, how if I was a normal guest what would happen. They made my day very hard and miserable
DoubleTree by Hilton Makkah Jabal Omar

Excellent stay. I had booked through the Hilton app - two partial haram view rooms. Check in on arrival time was punctual and smooth - I booked with breakfast included. We were told breakfast timings and location on arrival. We were also told there was a shuttle bus to the Haram every three minutes. The rooms were spacious and the bathroom also very big. Breakfast was great included bakery, egg station, fruit and various other hot/cold items including sub continent options. We were looked after by Saddam - a really nice guy. Housekeeping was quick, efficient and very good - the staff were always smiling. We used the cafe on ground floor a couple of occasions for dessert or hot drinks. All very good. Bottles of water provided in room. Also get iron/board too with a fridge in room too. Also a speaker where you can hear azan from the Haram. The shuttle was very good - every time we stepped out a bus was there and always left without too much waiting. A couple of mins drive to the haram and then about a two/three min walk into the mosque. You could walk to haram from hotel if you wanted - about 10 mins. A bit trickier to walk back from Haram as it’s uphill. Marriott and hilton convention Centre hotels are all within walking distance and all shuttles from these three hotels all stop in same place so easy to catch any of them on way back and cross quiet road to your hotel - no need to wait for double tree shuttle although there is always one very quickly. Overall a really good stay and I would recommend it. Also a really nice entrance to hotel…

My experience with Buffet breakfast in Ramadan, eating a museum, and the place is beautiful, I highly recommend it because the food is great, the taste is great and the taste is very diverse, and I like to thank all the staff of the hotel and the hotel management for this excellent service, and the taste keeps this wonderful picture.
Jabal Omar Marriott Hotel, Makkah

We stayed for a week. Overall, it was a decent experience although ultimately overpriced during Umrah. The room was relatively small. We were able to add a third guest at a cost of 300 riyals per night which was reasonable but only a bunk bed was offered and it took the minimal space available. The bathroom sink was clogged during our entire stay despite repetitive requests made to the cleaning staff and on the Bonvoy Marriott app. The food experience is however terrible! Iftar at the restaurant is extremely overpriced for 250 riyals per person and unjustified for a food of poor quality and not tasty at that. The scheduling was also hectic. Iftar was only from 7 to 9 pm and Sohour from 1 to 3 am; meaning if one wanted to attend Taraweeh, they would not be able to eat by the time they came back from the Mosque and would have to wait until 1 am to sustain themselves, which is ridiculous. We were therefore eating at the coffeeshop reception which was offering a buffet for 100 riyals per person, which was still overpriced for what it was. Only a few items were offered and not replenished.

I would like also to mention to 2 positive points 1.the man employee in check in was very helpful and rapid 2.the park for cars was my 1st experience because outside the hospitali is very crowded now and although not so wide and croweded also i succed to find a place for my car and itwas a goofd experience In general it osgood hotel esp.for price...and has a small bus every hour for alharam and wide clean rooms and deserve to be repeated

Located about 10 minutes ride from AlHaram. Offering hourly shuttle bus to and from AlHaram. Reception staff are very welcoming. The hotel is very clean and modern. Furniture is new. The room is average sized but OK. Washroom is too small. Nothing to complain about. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely put it a top choice for my future stays in Makkah.
