Villa Nautica Paradise Island Resort
4.7/565 Reviews
This was a surprise trip for my husband's 50th birthday and we were travelling with my Son Esa aged 8. Once we got to our resort we were greeted and welcomed by Amine and the team. Amine was very welcoming and took us on a buggy around the resort to show us around and escort us to our room. Amine went out his way daily to stay in touch via WhatsApp and kept us updated about all the activities taking place daily. Our room was amazing and we had been upgraded to a beach pool villa:-). The bed was decorated and a welcome card/fruits were placed in our room. The boy's were so excited regarding the private pool. Our resort was amazing and had alot to offer. This resort in particular had a kids club hence why I chose this resort. Guest Relations were amazing and accommodating . Grace also from Guest Relations was very welcoming and came to see us. The restaurant /food was pretty good and had lots of choice. Esa being a child wanted his normal chips/burger or nuggets and was offered this separately which was great. All the restaurant staff was amazing especially Shafiq, Shauka and the team. They all went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and happy. Shafiq had his way of taking care of families and even bringing the yummy special desserts to our table. He would always accommodate us to the best table/view too. Shauka was the head operations manager for all the restaurants and I promise you he was always hands on and ready to serve you in whatever you wanted to eat. He would always go out his way for us especially for my son Esa. Even on the last morning we was leaving he made Esa his favourite waffles :-). Our last dinner was arranged privately by Mr Ejaz (Hotel manager) and Shauka so we can celebrate my husband's 50th. A beautiful table was set on the stilts restaurant with a cake and Shauka personally came to serve us with all the different foods we wanted to eat:-). Absolutely amazing he was. Esa really misses everyone especially Shauka. We had an amazing stay and experience at Villa Nautica. We have already said that we will surely be coming back again and recommending to our family/friends. Small comment regarding the ice cream served at meal times in the restaurant- it was not nice/very poor quality. It was like some powdered ice cream mixed.
Baros Maldives
4.8/564 Reviews
The weather is too bad and the hotel water house is good. The sand house is generally very rusty and not delicate. The hotel environment is not recommended because there are too many boats nearby and you can see the city of Male without the feeling of a water island and the land is too close at night Looking around, the lighting of the building in the distance is very poor. If the hotel on the four islands of Madai is the worst environment
Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa Maldives
4.6/575 Reviews
What an incredible experience! From the moment we arrived at the airport we were so welcome by so the staff. The resort itself is beautiful and kept really well. This is high quality resort with a very personalised touch. Shohel, our house keeper, made such a difference and was very courteous and thoughtful. We stayed for our anniversary and was met with such a beautiful display. The room was quite spacious as we stayed in an overwater villa and was quite private. The beautiful reefs are worth exploring. All the activities in the resort are so much fun and the staff make it much more enjoyable filling in any knowledge gaps and answering any questions we had. Would definitely recommend staying as we’ve decided we’d love to come back in the future.
Bandos Maldives
4.6/549 Reviews
...to enjoy your vacation. We have spent 10 days at the Bandos resort in September, and the place and staff are absolutely amazing (more about the people at the end). Unfortunately, there is currently construction work going on and we were only informed about this by our travel agent after the booking. Our beach villa did not really have a beach (yet) as this was still being prepared. The shovel excavator started doing its work at 7am in the morning and sometimes only stopped at 10:30pm. This was the unfortunate part. We do not necessarily blame the hotel for this as the renewal has to be done at some stage. The Bandos resort is soon getting 50 years old and it is good that it is being kept up to date. The new villas at the front left side are really nice. We would just have hoped that the current circumstances would have been better described on the web site and that the prices would have been adjusted accordingly. We had the all-inclusive package which is kind of a must, otherwise the vacation will be very expensive. With AI, you will have a wide choice of drinks and really good food for breakfast, at lunch and dinner. You definitely have to try the different curry's, they are excellent in taste. The best thing about the resort is its team. Everybody is fluent in English, very kind to you and can somehow read your mind and wishes that you have. The management must give their employees a really good training upfront. At dinner, Tanuj, xx, xx and xx gave us a perfect treatment. After a few days they recognized us, despite having to take care of so many visitors. Special requests, such as different beverages or food, were being taken care of right away. At the last day of our stay we had a table that was already prepared for us, The decoration looked wonderful and it almost felt like a honeymoon. The location gets 5 stars. The current construction works (and the way they are handled) reduces it down to 3-4 stars. However, the kindness of the team brings the overall impression back to 5 stars. A personal thank you goes to Tanuj, xx, and xx for making our vacation unforgettable!

Summer Island Maldives Resort
4.5/552 Reviews
Just returned from summer island . Summer island was a little piece of tranquil paradise which didn’t disappoint in any way at all. We were in room 253 superior vista which was clean and comfortable and the guys tending the rooms worked hard and discreetly . The island itself is beautiful and having walked around it , I would agree with another review that the sunny side is preferable. The beach and sea is stunning and to see the beautiful fish and black tipped shark swimming backwards and forwards literally past your feet is special . The marine life and fishes are nature at its best but upsetting to see the coral looking sad in places. We ate in the hiya restaurant on two occasions and enjoyed the experience , from here you may get to get a glimpse at big grey sharks and on two occasions a stingray made an appearance. The nevi bar and Samuga were pleasant places to sit and have a drink anytime of the day and the sunsets amazing . I have never seen such clear nighttime skies and stars . The food in the samuga was varied and plentiful and was catered to everyone’s taste. I would recommend this island to anyone who is looking for a laid back , relaxed and tranquil holiday . Well done to all the staff who work so tirelessly in the heat to keep the island so well maintained and spotlessly clean . I really have no negatives , only positive things to say. Summer island is suitable for all not just honeymooning couples, but for friends and families. The only one draw back was the journey from the UK seemed endless to get there , the 8 hour delay from Heathrow with Qatar didn’t help matters but these things happen .We decided to get transfer to the island by seaplane and returned to male by speedboat both good experiences. The speedboat was a bit bumpy and the sea choppy that day but it only takes 45 minutes so bearable even if you don’t travel well on boats . By seaplane you get a different perspective and was wonderful to see the islands on route from an aerial view and literally took 10 minutes , pricey but well worth the experience. .I would definitely return to summer island but would maybe stop off at Dubai as a lot of other people did for a few days or book a direct flight with no stop off to Doha.
Oblu Xperience Ailafushi - All Inclusive with Free Transfers

Excellent guidance and service from the staff team, beautiful resort island, excellent maintenance of rooms, swimming pool, restaurant, beach, bars. Just a bit of a shame about expensive excursions and water sports activities, they can certainly be half the price. All in all, we enjoyed a stay on a beautiful resort island, enjoyed our ”own” house reef (fish and baby sharks you see every day), enjoyed sunrises and sunsets every day. We would love to come again next time. Shukuriyaa! Maldives
Velassaru Maldives
4.7/5102 Reviews
My wife and I honeymooned at Velassaru for 6 nights in early May, arranged through a local travel agent in Australia. We went for the Indulgence package and a beachside villa with plunge pool and the entire experience was excellent. The transfers to and from the airport were pre-arranged and seamless, and we were on the island with no fuss. Once there we were greeted and refeshed, then led to our lovely room, overlooking a beautiful turquoise ocean with reef break. The ocean colours really are something else, and this is coming from an Australian. The wife insisted on the plunge pool which of course turned out to be a brilliant decision. For me, it was about the food and drink. We ate at all of the restaurants, and every one provided excellent meals and the Indulgence package covered all of the basics so I could grab most of what I wanted when I wanted. I did spring for the lobster and some nice whisky though, at civilised prices subsidised through the package. I was very happy here. For my wife, she loved the ocean, and spent hours snorkelling / exploring out on the reef, or relaxing in the plunge pool with some music and a drink. I'll let her write the next bit. The Wife: Thank you to all the staff at Velassaru for making our stay a wonderful home away from home. Shout out to Imran for the lovely pine frond hats and jewellry he made for us in celebration of our honeymoon. Thank you Imran for putting these beautiful pieces for us, in your personal time no less. The snorkelling was out of this world, plenty of sharks, turtles, beautiful reef and coral nurseries with baby fish. I look forward to seeing all the happy and dedicated staff at Velassaru in the near future. Regarding the timing, we went early low season which is the local wet season, and this was fine. The weather was overall mostly sunny during the day, while riding out any late afternoon storms in the pool with a cocktail, or late night tempests in the warm plunge pool (also with a cocktail), was a great experience. Also regarding the timing, the resort was pretty quiet and here is where things truly shine. Without the high season pressure, we received immediate and pleasant attention and service from the staff. For our own honeymoon experience, we must particularly thank Salam and Imran, both of whom were engaging and ensured everything was on point, from them we received exceptional service, and more importantly, conversation. A special mention, and which for us will mark special memories, is Chef Wasantha and his personal attention during our stay. He visited our table during lunch on our first day and offered us whatever we liked, so my wife offered a challenge of tandoori lamb cutlets. Half an hour later, two plates were consumed, and chef continued to entertain requests over the next few days for whatever was asked. My wife loves Indian food so there were several curry requests, and so on our final night he created a 6 dish feast for us covering many regional flavours a

Cinnamon Dhonveli Maldives
4.5/572 Reviews
We stayed on this beautiful island at the end of May into the beginning of June for a very special holiday with family. From start to finish our holiday was just incredible. The food was amazing, there was always a huge variety of different food and great curries! The staff can’t do enough for you and are so welcoming and kind. We started off the holiday in a beach bungalow which was beautiful, less than 10 steps away from the beautiful lagoon. We decided to upgrade to a water suite for the last 4 nights of the trip. The water suites are absolutely stunning, our 2 children loved having their beds right by the glass floor where they often saw sharks, sting rays and a multitude of fish swim by! There is nothing to fault at Cinnamon Dhonveli, the kindness and hospitality from the staff is second to none - special thanks to our friend Akila ( aka Bruno ) who was just wonderful and made the greatest drinks for us and our children, all the staff in the sunset bar Ester, Malinda, Lahir. Our waiters Shamal in the Koimala restaurant and the lovely Shuaan at the Rehendhi restaurant. The wonderful chefs including Shelley who our children absolutely loved. The lovely salad lady Angelie who always had the loveliest smile, Sataar for his amazing flower garlands and for making our sun beds look so special! And last but not least thank you to the GM Sanjeeva for his kindness and incredible hospitality we hope to visit again soon!
