It's hard to describe! I chose this hotel because it was said to be a 5-star hotel with the best view. Later, I saw on the Internet that it was a 4-star hotel. The actual experience was at most 4 stars. Next, I will elaborate on it: 1. The hotel reservation management is chaotic. When booking, I indicated that I needed 2 beds instead of a large bed. I arrived at night and was very tired after a long journey. When I opened the room, it was still a large bed. I communicated with the front desk and hoped to change the room. I was told that Douban was fully booked and could not be changed, so I had to send someone to dismantle the bed. After waiting for 20 minutes, no one came. I went to the front desk to argue. The front desk staff was sent to accompany us to the room again (a meaningless move. They neither changed the room nor helped us dismantle the bed. So they accompanied us back and forth to count the steps?) 2. The male waiter who was sweating all over came late. When he was dismantling the mattress, he stepped on the bed sheet with one foot. The picture is proof. I was too tired to argue. I also left a message to Ctrip customer service. The room is also very small and the facilities are old, so it is really not a 5-star hotel. 3. There are cockroaches outside the restaurant from time to time. The buffet looks rich but tastes bad. It is not as good as the previous stop, Bangladesh. I came back and stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott in Colombo and realized that the kitchen of this hotel is not good. The advantage is that the hotel environment is really beautiful, the mountain view is unbeatable, and monkeys pass by the balcony from time to time. Conclusion I hope the hotel will strengthen its management and Ctrip will strengthen the assessment and star rating of suppliers.

This hotel is really beyond our expectations. It was dark when we arrived. The hotel staff greeted us at the door. Everyone was smiling and the service was very good. The hotel is surrounded by forests and has an excellent original environment. The rooms are very large and the hygiene is also very good. Breakfast and dinner are also delicious with different choices. When we woke up in the morning, we could hear the peacocks calling and we saw cute monkeys. I highly recommend this hotel!!!

Kandy Central
The owners and employees at this hotel are so, so lovely. Unfortunately their hotel is not. I almost feel catfished as many of the photos highlighted the bar and pool party atmosphere. This was not the case - the pool was a decent size but in the shade and I actually didn’t see anyone in it. The pool party drinking shots I highly suspect were perhaps not a genuine source. The same goes for the bar which is massive and attended to by several lovely young, bored gentlemen as both times I popped up (once for dinner) I was the only patron. Again no party atmosphere or even people - which is a shame as it is a big venue. Fortunately next door was another venue for some decent cocktails and music which saved the boredom somewhat. The bedroom was a decent size with a small fridge (but didn’t work), the bathroom was small, felt dirty, no hand soap or soap for the shower (apart from leftover previous occupants - and that was gross). The pressure was poor making showering difficult and there was plaster on the floor from some damage - not cleaned up. The bed was massive and comfortable with air conditioning and a fan so sleep was good. Finally, and to repeat, the staff were lovely. Very hospitable and the location is about a ten minute walk to the Sacred Tooth Temple and Kandy Lake. So great location. Would I stay there again - no. Would I pop in to say hello to the owners and next door for a cocktails - possibly!
Hotel Sigiriya
4.4/580 Reviews
The Sigiriya Hotel at the foot of Lion Rock is the biggest surprise of this trip. The price of less than 600 is very cost-effective. First of all, the service. The hotel staff have very good attitudes. They will give us freshly squeezed juice when we check it out, and they also take the initiative to help us connect to the hotel WiFi. The view of the hotel is great, and there is a small yard outside the balcony. There are singers playing and singing in the lobby in the evening, and the atmosphere is very good. If you are going to Lion Rock, it is highly recommended to stay here.
Ekho Sigiriya

Recommended, the location is very good, opposite the Lion Rock, and there are many food and drink options next to the hotel. The lobby decoration is very distinctive, and the room is not big but comfortable and clean. There are not many types of breakfast, but it is a pleasure to sit in the beautiful lobby to eat. And the price matches!

Amazing hotel, wonderful hospitality and beautiful views. If you’re visiting Danbulla/Sigiriya, I would recommend this place if you’re up for pleasant experience. Special shout-out to one of the staff, tall young chap who works evening shifts (didn’t get his name), aided us with booking a tuk tuk for our early morning trip to sigiriya rock and even checked with us after we came back our trip. Outstanding.

The room is large and clean with the strong air con. The staff are helpful and friendly. For the location, there are many restaurant nearby and there are many options that we can choose or ordering the food through Pickme.
Heritance Tea Factory
4.5/578 Reviews
+ Interesting concept of the hotel, in an old tea factory. Good breakfast (porridge, croissants, cheese, fruit, pancakes). Interesting entertainment is offered: picking tea in a sari, English tea party, tea tasting. All services are paid. - The hotel calls itself a five-star hotel, but there are no slippers, robes or dental kits in the room. The refrigerator is also empty. All the furniture is very tired, especially the plumbing in the bathroom. The shower faucet in our room did not switch on, and we had to fill the bath from the shower head. Be prepared for a 10% tip and 18% VAT to be added to your bill at dinner.

Kandy Lake Front
This hotel is on the top of the mountain. The view is very good, the environment is OK, the building is very distinctive, including the decoration of the room, but the worst thing is that the hygiene is very worrying, the door is a bit old, the refrigerator is so dirty that you can't get it off, and there are stains under the toilet seat There were urine stains and hair on the bed. The bed was two beds pushed together and it was uncomfortable to sleep on. The quilt was a sheet and was too tight to pull out. It was very uncomfortable to sleep on. Fortunately, there was a blanket in the cabinet to cover it with. Regarding the food, it’s not good either.

Kandy Central
The reserved room bedroom has a loft that can sleep 3-4 people. The public areas and rooms are well decorated and maintained. The location is not far from the city center, but close to the road and railway. It is noisy at other times except at night. The hot water switch was hidden in the closet and was not turned on when checking in. There were no additional instructions. The front desk got off work at 10pm and could not be contacted, so I had to take a cold shower. There was a small gecko in the bathtub. Except for the soup, dinner was pretty unpalatable. The two types of fish I ordered were overcooked, dry, bitter, and maybe burnt. When I first checked in at 2 pm, I wanted to have laundry delivered to me. I was told that if I picked it up before departure the next morning, there would be an additional fee. However, I checked into another hotel of the same brand the day before and had laundry delivered at 10 pm the next morning before checking out. Washing, drying and ironing are done for free. What’s also strange is that the front desk helps you fill out the satisfaction survey feedback when leaving the store and asks you to sign it, while the previous one asked you to fill it out realistically. When you see the high score, you are also asked to provide suggestions for improvement. The difference in service awareness is evident.
