In order to go to Shiosei Initial D, I went to Ikaho Onsen for the first time and booked to stay here. I spent three days and two nights in a row, and the dinner and breakfast dishes were different every day! Awesome! This is a hotel in the area that is over a hundred years old. It has a long history and has been renovated. Transportation: Take the Ikaho Onsen Line from Shibukawa Station for half an hour. If you catch the express bus on time, you will arrive within 10 minutes. The hotel is right next to the main bus station of Ikaho Onsen. When you arrive, you will be greeted by staff outside the entrance. Everyone in the hotel has to take off their shoes before entering. The shoes will be kept in the shoe cabinet outside, which is very Japanese hotel style. When checking in and explaining in the lobby, you will be asked when you will have dinner and breakfast, which is very considerate. Then directed to my room. I felt very comfortable as the staff guided/explained very politely. I stayed in a corner Western-style room on the 5th floor, which was half a floor away. The room was large, clean and comfortable. The good thing about the in-room facilities is that there are plenty of sockets, which are useful for charging smartphones. It's just that there is no bathroom in the room. I have to go to the large bathing room on the first floor to take a bath. I just find this inconvenient. Dinner is served in the venue on the 2nd floor with a handwritten menu. The staff explained each item politely and cared about getting enough rice, which was very delicious! This is a perfect service. Dishes were a local selection of meat, fish and vegetables, allowing us to enjoy local produce. Drinks are available at an additional cost and a la carte dishes can be ordered separately. Regarding the breakfast the next day, the portion was very large and very satisfying. Especially the steamed vegetables are very delicious. Even at breakfast, the staff was very friendly and polite, providing bathing information and asking if I need to clean the room that day? I said no. Very considerate, I enjoyed the large bath on the 1st floor, the open-air bath on the 8th floor, and the private open-air bath. The men's and women's hot springs will change venues sooner or later, which is great! Note that only the large bath on the first floor has shampoo and shower gel, so go to the large bath first. In addition to a large bathtub, the public bath also has a sauna and a cold shower. It was a bath that healed my body and mind. The hot spring is very hot and nice to soak in. You can enjoy different scenery in the open-air bath in the morning and evening. It is easier to see the scenery than renting an open-air bath. But the most enjoyable thing is to soak in the hot spring naked while admiring the beautiful scenery! After I soaked in the hot springs in the morning and returned to my room to rest comfortably, a thrilling and embarrassing episode happened. Suddenly someone (named the female manager Omori) opened the door to my room with a key. I had clearly told me that there was no need to clean it. I didn't realize that someone would come in the room. I was completely naked at the time. The scene was very sudden and embarrassing! She was embarrassed and said sorry and immediately closed the door. It was also the first time that a return incident happened to me. I didn’t feel uneasy or unhappy at the moment, I was just scared. When I came back to my senses, I just felt that the female person in charge made an unintentional mistake. Afterwards, when we met, she told me that she was very sorry. Opinions for this hotel: First, because I feel that if you want to enter the guest room, no matter whether there is anyone or not, you must knock on the door and say ”Sorry for disturbing you” before entering. The female person in charge suddenly opened the guest room door without saying anything and came in! Not very respectful. The second point is that I have communicated with the hotel staff that there is no need to clean the room. Did you make any mistakes in communication? The third point is that I don’t know whether the female person in charge is intentional or not, but the female person in charge is obviously not dressed to prepare room cleaning equipment. In addition, even if you insist on entering the guest’s room, you must ensure that the guest agrees and has already gone out. Implement. It is recommended that the room should be equipped with a back lock to ensure the safety of guests. I hope this hotel will learn from this to ensure that similar things don't happen to other guests. I will also consider staying here next time. Summary (out of 5) Dinner: 4 points Breakfast: 4.5 points Room: 4 points Hot spring: 3.5 points

The hot spring hotel is very close to Yubatake. The Yubatake is beautiful at night. The hotel's Keishi cuisine is delicious and well presented. There is also a QR code for breakfast and dinner to let you scan and explain what each dish is. They are very attentive. The hot springs are also very comfortable. They are switched between morning and evening, so you can soak in the hot springs on both sides. The waiters were very nice and provided warm hospitality. I will definitely stay here again next time I have the opportunity.
Takaragawa Onsen Ousenkaku

Takaragawa Onsen exceeded all expectations. Upon arriving at Jomokogen station, a friendly driver meets you with a sign and drives you comfortably for 25 km. You need to register in advance by sending an email to the hotel. Upon entering, you immediately feel transported to the past: you leave your shoes, choose a yukata robe with an obi, receive socks and special bathing attire, and proceed to your room in a traditional Japanese style (I highly recommend this to fully experience the atmosphere of the place). When you enter the room, you will likely experience a shock, as it feels like you've stepped into an old movie. I recommend a room with a small balcony in the Main building overlooking the river. Check-in is around 3 PM. You can change and head straight to the hot springs. Yes, everyone has been to saunas, steam rooms, and hammams, but the onsen is unlike anything else. It's impossible to convey the emotions. The combination of hot, clear water, pure air, surrounding nature, the rushing river, the play of light on the leaves, the scents, and the silence offers something new and unique. There are three public baths on the premises and one exclusively for women. After bathing, head to the restaurant for dinner, featuring local dishes. I recommend ordering both dinner and breakfast in advance. The food is very delicious and unique. You will sleep on futons, which will be carefully laid out for you while you have dinner. It’s a wonderful experience, and you'll sleep as lightly as a child. I would love to return here to experience that happiness again. One day was not enough.

If you want to experience authentic Japanese tatami-style accommodation and stroll around in traditional yukata, this is a great choice. The hotel is conveniently located near all the hot springs, and accommodations here include a rich dinner and breakfast. It’s highly recommended for families or couples traveling together. I highly recommend it!

Pros: 1. The room was incredibly spacious, with 4 beds even though we were only a party of 3. The mountain view from the room was fantastic! 2. Overall cleanliness was good. 3. Excellent location near Yubatake, where local shops and dining options are plentiful. 4. The private onsen was amazing, with a convenient button to refill hot water into the tub. 5. Special afternoon and evening times offered free food at the lounges, including ice cream, turnip soup, sausages, noodles, and special amenities like complimentary interdental brushes and facial masks. 6. Hotel staff provided excellent and efficient service. 7. Dinner was a delightful 7-course meal, with each evening featuring a different menu. 8. Breakfast was quite good with a decent variety. 9. The complimentary parking area was spacious with plenty of spots, located right next to the hotel entrance. Cons: 1. There isn't much to criticise about the place. Perhaps the breakfast spread could vary slightly each day.

It’s a bit hard to get to the hotel from bus terminal if u have luggage with u as it’s a downslope to get to the hotel. There’s also isn’t any lift in the hotel so we have to carry our luggage up to the second floor. We realised when we checked out that there’s actually locker for the luggage at the ground floor. There’s only one type of water in their public onsen which is kind of disappointing as we have high expectations since it is an onsen town. The onsen water however is good. We do feel some difference before and after onsen. There’s also free coffee & hot chocolate drinks right outside the onsen area. It would be better if there’s ice water in the onsen area as the water can get very hot & especially when there’s no cold tub there. The room however is spacious with comfortable bed. There’s also a foot bath located at the ground floor of the hotel right beside the breakfast area.
KAMENOI HOTEL KUSATSU YUBATAKE

Overall staying in this hotel was pleasant, and it was of great value considering the package had already included dinner and breakfast buffet. Regarding location, it was a bit far from the bus terminal by walking. It took us about 15 minutes, as the route by Google was not quite correct. The main entrance of the hotel was up on a slope, which was not as easy as we were carrying luggage. Remember to ask the front desk for the password of the back gate. It was a short cut route leading to the main shopping street and the Kusatsu Yubatake. The room was pleasant and clean, a bit too basic. There was only a socket near the tv wall, not close to the bed, which was a bit inconvenient. There was wide range of food in the buffet, with some interesting local dishes. Food was delicious. The hotel also offer free late night snack noodle, which worth trying too.

It was a great experience. Although the rented car was out of order when I came, it was completely healed as soon as I arrived. It’s easy to get to the hotel as long as you open the google navigation, but the road conditions are sometimes narrow (where I have the situation). Please note that the parking lot is next to the hotel reception. The room is tatami mats, because the quilt is spread out on the floor, it is very suitable for bringing children to play together. Dinner can be said to be a big surprise. I never thought I could get such a sumptuous dinner in a hotel at such a price. It's a pity that because the rented car had an accident, I left the hotel early and drove back to the rental car spot without trying breakfast. The hot springs are also very good, there are indoor and outdoor hot springs. When the day is still bright, soak into the outdoor hot spring under the cold temperature of minus 4-5°C, and watch the beautiful scenery of Lake Harina and Mount Harina. What could be more enjoyable than this?

Breakfast and dinner are very good 👍. For people like us who eat bird food, the amount is a bit too much, and I am embarrassed to not finish eating. The hotel is too close to the bus station. . The hotel is on a slope, so it has its own characteristics. It’s really nice to cross a small road next to the hotel and go straight to the middle of Time Street. The hotel provides special toothpaste and toothbrushes for children, as well as cute towels and bathrobes. Both the clerk and the shop owner were very kind and gave a lot of help, taught how to ride the bus, and always asked to pay attention to the bus time.お丁宁にありがとうございます. We went there just in time for the construction site next to the hotel, so we couldn't go to the outdoor bath. The boss gave ice cream and wine as compensation. Because it is an old hotel, the facilities are a bit old, and reptiles are still seen in the toilets. In the corridor, I saw a mosquito with a big palm lying on the wall. It's a mosquito. It's slender legs. It's a mountain.

The hotel is very new and is located near the center of Kusatsu Onsen Town. The room is large and is a combination of Japanese and Western styles. The open-air hot spring is very comfortable and has a strong sulfur smell. The two meals were delicious, and the dinner was also a combination of Japanese and Western styles, which was very enjoyable!
