"Nice to stay in the historic hotel. As such, the room showed it's age which is not necessarily bad. It had a charm and warmness not found in most modern hotel rooms. The full breakfast was definitely the highlight. It was not advertised as such on the booking site but should be. I was a bit disappointed that the internet was not password protected. I was reluctant to leave my computer on too long for fear of hacking."

"I was very satisfied with the double bed for the first time, but this time the single bed was shocked. The toilet is half as big as last time. "I stayed at King's College, which is adjacent to Dalhousie University, where Lucy Montgomery, author of Anne of Green Gables, studied. The historic building and campus are wonderful, and I'm glad I stayed here. The building and facilities are old, so there is no elevator and the toilets are shared on each floor, but they are clean. The room is spacious and has a mini kitchen, but no dishes or pots. There are towels, but no tissues. After checking in, I didn't know how to open the door, so I went to ask, but the two students at the reception desk were very kind and helpful. I had dinner at a Turkish restaurant nearby. The No. 1 bus stop was right next to it, so it was convenient to go to downtown."

"The hotel is old and the equipment is average. The location is very good, just by the pier. It is very convenient to eat nearby. The restaurant on the first floor of the hotel is also OK. We didn't go out to eat one day in heavy rain. We tried it and felt it was not bad. Parking is charged. There is also a Japanese restaurant nearby. It is good to try."

While they do offer recycling, it would be great to see composting added for unfinished food. Overall, I would definitely stay here again."

Got a good checked in and request amenities service is good. Staying for 5 days with my whole family. On the third day our bathroom flooded I don’t know what happened. They transfer as to a queen bed and a couch. Just accepted it as I do t want to deal with the incident overnight. Fully understand if no rooms available to accommodate us. But they did attended to our needs so far. But pretty much over all stay it was a ok. The hotel seems old but maybe preserving the looks of the hotel. Needs some upgrading.

It didn't feel like we were in a hotel, yet the price wasn't cheap. The heating in the room was also problematic; it felt even colder when on, like cold air was blowing, which made us all catch colds. The front desk staff were very helpful though, providing extra blankets for each of us. Due to the renovations, we couldn't enjoy any of the hotel's facilities. On the bright side, the hotel is very close to the beach, and the views there are fantastic.

Facilities: Plenty of facilities, including a swimming pool and elevator; overall, it's a fairly standard Hilton hotel.
Environment: The environment is excellent. The hotel is comfortable and tidy. Towels aren't very dirty, except for the floor, which is a little dirty. The bedding doesn't show much dust and is quite neat. There are plenty of pillows, and even the TVs have your name on them with a welcome message. The soundproofing is excellent; you can barely hear people shouting outside. The rooms are very large and beautiful, as is the bathroom. It's also very close to the hotel.
Service: The service is superb. We arrived early with our luggage because I wanted to go to Halifax for a while longer, and the front desk helped us store our luggage and gave us some tickets. The staff at the front desk were very polite and helpful.
Cleanliness: Excellent.

I was skeptical when I booked this hotel, but was wowed when I checked in. The guy at the front desk (Ryan) was super helpful, patient, and full of smiles. The hotel was super clean starting from the lobby to our room. Our room was spacious and I love everything about the room - clean, comfy bed with extra pillows, clean bathroom. The breakfast had lots of options that suited everyone from cereal to oat, toast, pancake, muffins, yummy cinnamon roll, pork sausage, turkey sausage, and cheese omelet. As a non-pork eater, I love the fact that they had the turkey sausage option. The checkout was seamless. I recommend this hotel.

Guest UserMy experience at the travel Lodge was fantastic the room was big everything I needed was there my original booking was a day later then it should of been but when I arrived the lady at the desk was there to help and got me all fixed up. I highly recommend this hotel the service is excellent the breakfast is fantastic whatever you need is there or at the desk a small shop to pick things up to get you by. I'd say though some spots in the rooms are lacking some matnience however I really enjoyed my stay and I hope to go back again soon.
