Our third stop on our tour of the maritimes was the Hotel Halifax. It had a great location close to the pier and it was connected to the indoor walkway that connected to the mall, the ******, and other hotels and businesses downtown. This was very convenient on the day it rained during our stay! The rooms were very spacious and had very comfortable beds. No issues with hot water, air conditioning or internet. An unexpected bonus was having a water refill machine on each floor to fill up reusable water bottles. There was no breakfast included but the hotel was connected to the indoor food court at the mall and there were lots of restaurants nearby. At the hotel you can pay for parking at the indoor parking garage connected to the hotel, and it allowed in and out privileges. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommended to anyone wanting to stay in the waterfront area!

The hotel staff did not knock on the door and entered the room several times. After the hotel lost the items several times, the hotel staff did not say that even if the restaurant was clean, the restaurant service was very good, there was no way to calm the mood.

Very recommended to stay, cost-effective, the environment is very good. Beautiful environment, good geographical location, convenient transportation, comfortable and sanitary rooms, service staff are very enthusiastic, facilities are very humane, high-speed network signal is good, the view outside the window is good. The design of the room's small pendulum is also very distinctive. Next time, check in.

They had us over a barrel. Apparently the whole place was booked. Crazy expensive for a place that was less good than a standard Holiday Inn or Ramada. The room had a ton of light leaking in from the hallway door. But our problem was the old pillow-top mattress. My back's not great, and it was sagging in the middle. Painfully soft. They didn't have a spare mattress. Not one. So if a person spilled water, a child had an accident, whatever, there is NO SPARE MATTRESS? Wifey asked if the (old) couch was also a sofa-bed. The staff wasn't quite sure(!!!). It was. We asked for more sheets and another comforter. They delivered more sheets. The old sofa was, well, old. The spring mattress in it has lumps, but it was better (firmer) than the bed. The location is prime, but they have competition. Next time we are in Halifax (it's a place we go), we won't stay at the Barrington. Kudos to the nice people in the restaurant. Good value for the food, friendly staff. Front desk... No good.

This hotel was very clean and comfortable and the conference area was very well set up. The complimentary breakfast included with the room was delicious. The room was very spacious and the beds very comfortable. The staff was very courteous. I would definitely stay at this establishment again.

I stayed at Quality Inn Airport in Halifax on feb 14th; we were told it would be busy in the am as my flight was at 0800. The next morning, I was ready by 0530 to take shuttle for 5:45 but when I got downstairs, there was already close to 50ppl waiting for shuttle service. I was clearly not gonna make it to airport with the 2hrs suggested time of arrival. Quality Inn staff knew how many people required shuttle to the airport that morning and only allowed max 9ppl onboard. We were not offered to take a 2nd shuttle of any kind. I decided to pick up my car from parking (which was about 1km walk) and take it to airport, which I then had to pay for 1wk parking. No managment on site, no taxi or other mode of transportation. My suggestion is: don't count on shuttle to take you to the airport on time; have a second plan or don t stay there because it 's cheaper with free parking.

My daughter and I were visiting friends in Antigonish over the weekend. The Microtel is a new hotel that opened here during COVID and wasn’t here yet the last time we visited. Absolutely lovely place - clean, modern, good value for your money (hot breakfast included), swimming pool, less than 1 km from town, pets welcome 🤗, and extremely kind and helpful staff. We will definitely be back!

Location is close to the airport, brand new hotel, breakfast is not very hearty, but it is enough. The parking lot is in the outdoor parking lot at the entrance of the hotel. Free parking is provided. The front desk will give you a note on the car.

Would rate the front desk staff a 8 out of 10 due to the lack of concern about one of the staff. Housekeeping very friendly and helpful and cleaned up when we only ask that our garbage been taken out. Room was very comfortable When the phone wasn't working one of the young front desk staff came up and took immediate charge and fixed the problem. We were looking forward to using the ”hot tub” but who ever is responsible for the hotel's web site should delete the hot tub picture s it hasn't been there, per front desk staff, at least 10 years. The fitness room only has 2 out of 4 of the stationary and Eliptical bike working. Gave up after mentioning it to the front desk staff on two occasions. Had a nice washroom with safety bars, but would suggest bringing a safety mat and there were no safety *****s in the tub. Surprisingly I found out the hotel did not have a liquor licemce so I had to go to another hotel for some ”brown pops' on New Year's eve.

The Hotel had renovated since our last visit and we booked accordingly, for an overnight stay. This turned out to be a mistake. 1) Upon checking in, we found that the room furniture & decor was very dated & in poor condition. Some efforts could be seen in attempts to update room decoration (including the bathroom) but damage to a wall had not been addressed 2) There was no soap in the room. I called to advise & was asked to come down to reception to get some. Upon arrival, I was told that the hotel was completely out, The solution was to use shower gel & were given extras 3) The TV didn't work because the wires had been disconnected from the box & TV. It appeared that when I pulled out the dresser to fix, I had been the only one back there in quite awhile 4) The Ice bucket in the room contained melted water from a previous guest with no replacement plastic liner. When asked, the service Staff were unaware of the location of any ice machines. After walking the 3 floors looking I had found 2 non-working machines. Reception went to the bar to provide a small bowl of ice. 5) Water pressure was virtually non-existent - the (slippery) shower pan had not been cleaned and because the curtain did not reach the floor, water was not contained. There were no shelves for convenience or Hand holds in the shower - very dangerous 6) Morning coffee was provided by only 2 Decaf packages - no regular 7) One of the bed's was off its wood frame & as a result, stuck out far enough to cause damage to the toe that was caught. 8) Front Desk had advised their staff that we had checked out (we had not) - we were terribly surprised when entrance was made at 9:30am 9) I sat on an (antique) couch in the lobby and promptly found out that there was no seat support. There was no indication that some furniture was not safe to sit on. It was evident that money had been put into making the hotel more attractive on the surface, but it could have been better spent in averting these kinds of reviews.

Well, I stayed at the Holiday Inn on John Savage for the week of March Break for Business travel. Frankly, I do not know how the staff maintained the premises so well. Sure with the place loaded with kids, there was a little child having fun noise but nothing that kept me from sleeping well, or a distraction from my work. Kudos to the Hotel team for dealing with the ”onslaught” on families so well.....remarkable job under extreme circumstances....(JOAN!!!!!) Funny, even during the amazingly hectic times, Joan and her team had left me a lovely note and welcoming treat. As a business traveler who stays in LOTS and LOTS of hotels...it really means a lot when you can come ”home” at night to a welcoming friendly and professional family. I can't applaud the team and amazing leadership at Holiday Inn on John Savage enough. As for me, and because of the awesome teamwork at Holiday Inn on John Savage, our Company (over 200 employees in 4 eastern Provinces) have selected Holiday Inn as our preferred ”away from home family”. I just left Holiday Inn Dieppe where we now hold all our manager's meetings and all managers stay there for the days of the meetings. It was all because of Michelle's and Joan's wonderful leadership and excellent customer service over the years I have been coming. Finally, on my way home, I had to overnight in Dartmouth due to flight restrictions just last night. Did I stay out by the Airport which was WAY more convenient? NO. I stayed with my family away from home in Dartmouth who, though I was only staying one quick night, still remembered me! Always with a note and a treat. Amazing customer service. So, Michelle, Joan, and the team..... thank You for making my business travels such a pleasant experience. Finally, for a business traveler who stays in many hotels all over Canada and primarily in Eastern Canada.....there are certainly lessons in customer service that can be gleaned from the John Savage Team........... I didn't pay too much attention to the location, because we went there just for pure sleep and left the next day. The cleanliness is OK, but the fly in the ointment is that the bathroom lights are very dim, which is not very good for the senses. For the service, I told the hotel my membership number in best wersern when I made the reservation. I thought the staff could notice it, but it didn't. In fact, the experience of staying in a star-rated hotel will not be too bad, the comparison is to pay attention to the details. Set up, because it was during the covid-19 period, the breakfast was allocated by the staff, there were not many varieties, but it was basically enough. There is no milk. There is no milk. There is no milk.

One of best Courtyard's in North America, as the hotel feels and looks new. Checkin was very quick and friendly. Treated this Bonvoy Titanium member very well. Room was spotless and a good size (2 queen beds) with very large HD TV. Excellent wifi speed. Bed was super comfortable and I got a goodnight sleep. Everything was in working order and I appreciated the hotel doing its part for the environment with eco-friendly refill toiletries in the bathroom. The only sit-down food and beverage option is Bistro. It's very limited in offerings and expensive ($6 for a bagel with cream cheese). You are better off going to Tim Horton's or one of the many other places just across the street including McDonald's, The Keg, Montana's, Jack Astor, Thai Express and Quiznos to name a few. Location is under 20 minutes from the airport which is super convenient. I would definitely return.

Always enjoy staying here. Friendly staff, excellent breakfast menu. Close to all anything may need. Mayflower mall only a few km away. Get a room with harbour view, though no cruise ships in March. Has gym, pool, meeting rooms for all your needs. *May be time to start upgrades. Bathroom looks old. I noted in 2020 that the lamp plugs hardly hold your cord in place. Need new.

Our visit got off to a poor start when the check-in clerk suggested that I park on the same side of the motel as our room ”so you can keep an eye on your car.” Fortunately, the car came through the visit undisturbed. The clerk then informed us that (a) they do not offer housekeeping services (we were staying three nights) and (b) they did offer breakfast, but guests had to come to the lobby and then take the food to their room to eat. I am not sure if these were intended as Covid measures, but we stayed in five different properties on our visit to Nova Scotia and this was the only one to have these restrictions in place. Bathtub tap dripped constantly and tub drained very slowly.

The room is on the first floor, it feels a bit depressing, but the service of the hotel is very good. It's okay for girls to be accompanied by male friends, but if there are two girls, you should be more cautious, it doesn't feel very practical

Location: In fact, in a palm-sized place like Sydney, location is not very important. Is the museum next to Mick Mac Aboriginal a plus? Cleanliness: 100 points Service: 99 points, generally good, but one point is deducted when breakfast only has eggs as a source of protein. I asked the service staff, there is no meat, ham, meat, none at all. Facilities: It looks clean, but the swimming pool is too crowded and the gym is a bit small. Probably the best hotel in Sydney. Overall it exceeded my expectations.

We had a nice stay. We got a 6th floor bay view room, which was very nice. Room layout was interesting even the hotel is a bit outdated and need to be refreshed. Staff was very courteous and polite. It was quiet, I suppose it'a a concrete hotel not wood. Near of bayside boardwalk and restaurants. Included breakfast ok. Few things annoyings: Elevators were very slow, waiting time not fun. Also elevator doors were closing suddenly and strongly on me, and it was even dangerous with kids and luggage cart. PLEASE FIX IT. Also, air conditionning in our room was loud, and mattress was broken on my side. We probably go back there is we come back in Sydney.
