Upgraded to a Loft suite. Excellent (once the air conditioner unit was explained). Staff great. Housekeeping a bit too eager. On site restaurant Liberty's seems slow and disorganized, even for South Africa and especially for a Hilton's. Free shuttle to V&A Waterfront every two hours. Walking distance to the Old Biscuit Mill (a Saturday morning must-do). Regular and reliable taxi service around Cape Town at reasonable rates, for drop off and pickup. Airport shuttle. Neighborhood was very safe Don't pre-book tours before you get here; Yasir and his team will take good care of you.

The location is very convenient and that's probably all. We were there during the cold, windy spring period (although gusty winds are probably quite common in this region) and couldn't sleep because of the feeling of horror and fear because of the shutters knocking terribly in the wind. A horror movie, no doubt. It is necessary to replace the balcony doors, especially considering that these are huge panoramic doors with more modern ones. The cold and knocking really prevented a good night's sleep and spoiled the impression. Also, because of them there is a draft and cold. The heating did not work: we had to turn on the air conditioner to heat. The cleaning was normal. The room was tired, the furniture was stained and painted over with paint somewhere, but it was acceptable.

The location is a bit off from the v&a waterfront and city centre. You need to Uber out everytime. Another then this , everything is Awesome from the staff to the room service food to even the room very good.

Having travelled extensively and stayed in numerous hotels worldwide, I can confidently state that my recent experience was the worst ever. Despite seeing several negative reviews about their service, I thought they were just occasional lapses. However, I soon discovered that the hotel had a persistent service problem. I had a problem with my reservation and spent two days trying to resolve it, but no one cared. To make matters worse, I was charged ten times the amount I had originally paid for the same room (i.e., $300 instead of $30) without any reasonable explanation. When I questioned this, the staff merely shrugged it off, citing fluctuating prices as the reason. The lady in charge of reservations was extremely rude and disrespectful throughout the ordeal. In addition to the issues with my reservation and the exorbitant charges, the air conditioner was not working properly and made a lot of noise. Furthermore, the fridge in my room made a huge noise, which disturbed my sleep at 2 am (I recorded a video as proof). Moreover, the noise levels in the dormitory were unacceptable all the night! making it impossible to get a good night's sleep. In short, I urge anyone considering staying at this hotel to think twice and look for other options.

This is a very nice (new) hotel close to the downtown and Waterfront area. A twenty minute walk to either location (not an easy walk) - they do have canal water taxi service available to take you to the waterfront. Definitely worth the experience. The breakfast service is delightful but can get crowded at times due to their catering of large tour groups. Rooms are nice, AC unit works very well, showers hot, tv selection extensive, and service awesome. Recommend for those looking for a very nice hotel at a reasonable rate. One downfall to the hotel / location is that is bucks up to the container / shipping area so when vessels come in you will hear a lot of container unloading noise at night. Ask for an ”even” numbered room so you are on the opposite side and you get a view of Table Mountain

Great location for the airport and the free shuttle is perfect. The hotel is very comfortable and has everything for a great overnight stay. My only gripe is the staff all.standing around in groups chatting loudly at breakfast and having to wait 20 minutes for change in the restaurant in the evening.

Hotel was at a good location perfect for planning tours and close to the waterfront and many places around the staff were friendly and accomodating breakfast was amazing loved the variety of food room was okay I would definitely recommend this hotel to travellers. The view is amazing from the bedroom overlooking the mountains from all directions

The Commodore Hotel is a very comfortable 4 star hotel. It is located a 5 minute busy and safe walk from The Victoria and Alfred Waterfront precinct, just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the Waterfront. The restaurant offered a varied and plentiful breakfast buffet. The bar area was comfortable for a pre or post dinner drink and perfect for a light dinner after a busy sightseeing day. There is a lovely courtyard area and small pool (the water is bracing as the pool is not heated, understandable with the daily load shedding experienced in South Africa). We stayed in a room with small balcony and views to Table Mountain. Highly recommended.

The location is good. Not too far from a Woolworths grocery store and a coffee shop. The coffee shop opens really early which is essential when loadshedding hits and you can't make coffee in the hotel. The coffee was inconsistently replenished so again, being near a Bootleggers coffee was necessary. The hotel doesn't have a generator so when there is load shedding, you will be affected. If you are going to arrive early, you won't be able to check in early as there was no one who could help us at the front desk until 3pm which is standard check in time. We ended up having lunch in the restaurant so we weren't too inconvenienced but if your flight is much earlier in the day, do be aware of this. Otherwise, not a bad stay and I would consider staying again.

Celebrated my mom’s birthday. We enjoyed our stay, loved the pool and our room was spacious and clean. The buffet breakfast is great, wish it had pancakes or waffles for vegetarians. The hotel is located at the heart of Knysna- short stroll to the waterfront, plenty of restaurants& activities. Parking is available on site for ZAR30 p/ night and tourism levy is ZAR30 p/ night. Our check in was 30 minutes late, (14:30) bit disappointed, but we understand it was peak period. Otherwise highly recommend and will definitely return!

The location of the hotel is very good, next to the sea, there is a beach Free security at the entrance of the parking lot. There are supermarkets around. Pay attention to the business hours. When we arrived, it was Sunday and most shops were closed. The room is clean, but the washbasin is separated from the hot and cold water. I'm not used to it~ If you don't care about the money, it's better to book a balcony with a sea view The breakfast selection is also very rich. We had curry chicken that day Next to the hotel is a museum of the first Portuguese to land here There's a lighthouse a few kilometers away

We visited Botlierskop as day visitors to do a safari from horseback, and it was simply the most amazing thing I have ever done from the back of a horse. We did the 3.5 hour outride with our fantastic guide Victor. Both my husband and i are experienced riders, and if you are considering doing this, be honest about your riding skills. You will ride, at pace, over some steep terrain, on fast, fit, fearless little horses. But the best part of this is that you will get heartstoppingly close to some of the largest wild animals on the planet. Rhino, elephant, giraffe, antelope, everything except lions! It was thrilling. Your pictures will tell a story that you will carry for the rest of your life! This was a unique experience and I'm grateful to Victor for his knowledge in keeping us safe around these magnificent wild animals.

A great place to see certain species of game in a convenient and cost effective way. Kyla led an amazing experience to see the Lodge's cheetahs - truly memorable. Cheryl delighted us in an evening game drive and the elephant experience - feeding the three beautiful elees, resulted in hugs by them all. Absolutely fabulous. The lodge itself is very comfortable, with wonderful views from the tents over the dam and having free-ranging Nyala everywhere was super special. The food was average at best but the staff are lovely.

If you want to live in a special hotel in South Africa by car, you can choose it by looking at the picture evaluation. First of all, the location of the hotel is very partial. I walked 30km mountain road from George, and then walked a dirt road to get there. I was scared for fear of breaking the low chassis of the borrowed Polo. When I arrived, there was really a giraffe in the lobby of the hotel, one, only one, which was better than the photos taken in other hotels in Africa, but it was not very good. The villa we stayed in had two rooms with 5 beds, and the two of us felt very big. The second is experience, and other experience accommodations in South Africa, this is really a farmhouse, 1,300 yuan per night, breakfast is very simple buffet, the rest of the meals are not included. Compared with the Pilinsburg Shepherd, others 3000➕, three meals included, two hunts, 3 hours. The three meals are exquisite, and the rooms are good. This one is really not good. Maybe I don’t know how he can pay for it.

Way too noisy to make for a pleasant stay There were four of us in 2 separate rooms - we all had a terrible night's (rather lack of) sleep. A shame, because it's an attractive building inside & out; really clean; in a great location and (ironically) really comfy beds and lovely pillows and linen. But it is simply way too noisy to be viable as somewhere charging people to sleep. We arrived to the sound of construction noise - in fairness we had been pre-warned about renovations and makes sense to do such work out of season, but maybe not late on a Saturday afternoon. We were all woken up at 3.00 AM by screaming female voices. I assume guests after a good night out and get you can't control your guests' behaviour - but the screaming continued for half an hour, during which time hotel staff should have stepped in to tell them to show some respect to other guests and shut up. Then we were woken again by blaring music just after 6.00 AM. On phoning reception to point this out, we were told they know and it's the staff in the restaurant, who like to play music. It's terrible that it took guests to tell the hotel to tell their staff not to play blaring music at six in the morning. Some of the noise that blighted our stay was out of the hotel's control - but this was totally on them. Quite simply, the hotel staff wanted to listen to blaring music at six in the morning, without any care at all for paying guests, trying to sleep. This is inexcusable and shows utter contempt towards paying guests. The doors need better sound dampers and/or people who care about closing them as silently as possible - most of the slamming doors were early morning, so again I suspect staff not caring at all about the guest experience. And dogs constantly barking from very early morning, in between being woken by screaming and woken by music. This noise absolutely not in the hotel's control - but just added to the general cacophony and resulting sleep deprivation. In summary then not a hotel to book if you want a night's sleep, which is why you book a hotel. Mentioned to reception on check out, but got the sense they didn't care, as money already banked. And that's the really bad/sad part of this. A shame - could be lovely with a bit of consideration, care and a few adaptations.

I planned a three night stay. Rijks' position is perfect, tranquil with beautiful mountain views. A lovely ecopool for guests to enjoy and warm and friendly staff. The food is of a good, maybe even above average, standard. I stayed at Reijks probably 10 years ago, and it was crisp, professional, and in great condition. Today, it's a shadow of its former self. I booked the honeymoon suit as that is all that was available. The rooms are looking a bit tired. The soap dish hanging off the wall, toilet seat when lifted is old and beginning to become ”spongy.” The farm has water problems, so the water is discoloured with an odour. The drains in the bathroom basins didn't pop up without some effort. The mirror frame in the separate toilet was cracked and pealing. The wall inside and below the air-conditioning was bubbling and flaky. It needs a painting, the bed was very comfortable, no complaints there. Then ones eye goes to the general state of the building, and the main building needs serious attention. Daily care and maintenance seem to not be the order of the day. Like Eskom, if you don't maintain your infrastructure, then it gets to a point where it becomes too expensive to keep up. So it's sad to see a beautiful farm looking somewhat tired. For the price one is paying, I would expect their old professional attention rather than a ”Mom's and Pops” casual attention. I expect their facilities to be well kept. I found on a few occasions looking for staff to assist, wonderfully friendly when found, though. I would go back because of the position and tranquillity of the setting, decent food. We, despite the lack of attention to detail, had a wonderful stay

Stayed 2 nights at the Franshhoek Boutique hotel, we stayed in room ‘Mineral’ which was lovely and gracious, huge comfortable bed, with a gorgeous bathroom, all in all a great little find. Perfectly situated near all the restaurants and bars and not too far from the Wine Tram station although the hotel supplies a transfer there which is an absolute must if you are staying in Franschhoek. I’d definitely recommend

Well, this was a great choice for the last week of our holiday, our wedding Anniversary and Christmas. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and thank all the staff who looked after us. Our suite was lovely, venue gorgeous, food great and service fabulous. Golf course is amazing as are all the stsff there, so caring and helpful. Hopefully we will be back.
