4-Star Hotels in Cusco Region, Peru

"If you stay at this hotel, absolutely make sure you don't get a room with an interior-facing window (one that doesn't connect to the outside). Otherwise, it will be incredibly stuffy, making it impossible to breathe properly and sleep. Don't even count on the air conditioning; it's completely broken. Before, I closed the interior window because I was afraid of noise, but I couldn't sleep at all and found myself struggling to breathe. Only after opening the interior window did a little air come in, and I was able to manage some sleep. The soundproofing of the door isn't great. During breakfast hours, they play music, and you can hear it clearly through the door. The interior-facing windows are directly above the breakfast area. See the picture. Another very unpleasant thing happened: I returned to the hotel at 10:40 PM and found the main entrance locked, all doors were locked. I frantically knocked on the main door. Luckily, there was still a guy at the front desk on duty, otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to get back in. I've included a picture to prove this point. The front desk staff's English is just so-so. Also, I was mistaken for Japanese again and given a registration slip in Japanese. I asked if they had slips in other languages, and they said yes. But even after seeing my passport, they still gave me the Japanese one. I don't even know what to say. Then they were all smiley and playful, I don't know if they were joking with me or what. Anyway, I can read Japanese, and it was all Chinese characters, so I just filled it out. The breakfast was just okay. All these *** Western country breakfasts are pretty much the same; only a few dishes offer some variety or are particularly tasty. The best thing at this hotel's breakfast was the ham. About a 30-second walk from the hotel, there's an intersection with a lot of trash and many stray dogs eating from it. Since there are many tourists, these stray dogs are used to seeing them and generally won't bother you. However, for safety, I still kept my distance from them."

"This was our favourite hotel in Peru! The staff were amazing, always checking on us and making sure we were comfortable. They helped us with oxygen when one of us was sick from altitude. They have a laundry room, which was super convenient as a family. Laura at the front desk was incredible, she deserves a promotion! Such a lovely, and helpful front desk attendant!"

"The room given was good, the mountain view could be seen, the room was large and the bathroom was spacious. The hotel includes a buffet breakfast, although not rich, but it is completely enough. It is also very convenient to take a taxi near the hotel, and there is no problem with travel."

"We had a wonderful stay at Hampton Hotel in Cusco. The staff were very friendly and hospitable, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. A special mention to Wilma, who went the extra mile to accommodate our request to change to a room with a queen bed instead of two standard beds—her helpfulness made a big difference. The rooms are new, clean, and comfortable with fresh bedding, and the breakfast was very good. Overall, an excellent experience and I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Cusco."

"We have come to really enjoy the Costa del Sol properties in Peru which have very well designed and spacious rooms with comfortable beds and bedding that ensures a great night's rest. The location was excellent - with 5-10mins walk fro the main squares but up a lane with the rooms in a newer building further behind the main entrance so it was very quiet. The room and toilet was also extremely clean which was very much appreciated after our 4D3N Inca trail expedition with no showers and basic toilets. The Cusco property was also a very beautiful stately mansion with very nice central foyer to enjoy the welcome drink on a nice cool Cusco morning. We also thoroughly enjoyed the buffet breakfast at Paprika with a full spread of fruits, cereal, bread, cooked items and eggs to order. We will definitely be back!"

"Our train back from Machu Picchu was delayed, so we didn't get to the hotel until 10 PM. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted by a cozy warmth. The turndown service was already complete, and there was even a hot water bottle. It was hands down the best night's sleep we've had so far on this trip. The hotel itself is incredibly stylishly decorated. Breakfast is a buffet, but you can also order à la carte. The coffee is excellent too. Highly recommend!"

"This hotel is located in a small alley, with an inconspicuous facade, but the interior is a delightful surprise. At its center is a beautiful little garden, bursting with vibrant flowers and plants, surrounding which are elegant four- or five-story buildings, seemingly recently constructed. The pale yellow exterior is striking and elegant. The windows are adorned with rustic brown wooden latticework, and the interior features solid wood floors, stylish wooden furniture, comfortable and clean bedding, and well-equipped bathroom fixtures and toiletries. The breakfast is plentiful and delicious, and the dining room is also exquisitely decorated. The staff are warm and attentive; our experience was excellent!"
