"This is my third trip to Kuala Lumpur, and my second stay at Traders. I chose it again based on the fantastic experience I had the first time, from the service to the location and the dining options. However, this time was a bit disappointing. The renovated bathroom had endless issues; the soap dish in the shower area became a stagnant water trap (and wasn't addressed during cleaning the next day). I even found an employee's business card in the bathtub, so I could only reassure myself that at least it gets cleaned daily. As a hotel under the Shangri-La Group, it really shouldn't be like this."

It's only one or two kilometers from the city center, perfect for a city walk. The lady at the front desk was very beautiful; I wonder if she was Indian. The gym facilities and washing machine are great for families!"

Presiding over historical George Town- The Edison is a vision of architectural splendour. Heritage features meet period furnishings to create a whimsical journey into Penang s past. Elegant suites are decked out with intimate details and artisanal accessories. Vibrant jade accents bring the timeless grace of this old mansion to life. Then there is the bright- central courtyard that provides a place to pause in the city s midst or you can sink into the comfort of The Edison s library. Step beyond the mansion gates into a bustling fusion of cultures. A UNESCO World Heritage Site- George Town is built upon 500 years of trading. The Edison George Town is a Small Luxury Hotels of the World property.

"I like the location. It's walking distance to UNESCO Georgetown. And there is a hawker center type food outlet just opposite with singers belting out Thai, mandarin and Cantonese numbers. Though it ends at 12 midnight. It's an old mansion converted into a boutique hotel. Not able to drop off at hotel, as gate is not opened. Reception is facing main door. Staffs are friendly and helpful. I stayed on the ground floor which is very convenient. The room is comfortable, though being an old mansion, the light switches are not the most convenient. There is no water kettle in room, hence a lounge that is opened 24 hours where there are hot water, drinks and snacks.. The sound insulation is not very good, can hear singing and noise from outdoor pool. Lucky not staying on 2nd floor as stairs is very narrow and tight. There is an outdoor pool which I did not manage to view."

"The room isn't huge, but it was perfect for two people. When I checked in, I asked for a sea-view room, and the view was absolutely stunning. The hotel having a gym and a swimming pool is a huge plus! It's super convenient with a mall next door, and it was so easy to visit all the nearby attractions and try out local food spots – everything was about a 20-minute walk away. Getting to the airport takes about 30 minutes if there's no traffic. I highly recommend this place! There are water dispensers on every floor, which is great for refilling bottles. The bed isn't huge, but it's comfortable enough to sleep on. If I come back to Penang, I'd definitely choose to stay here again."

With a stay at Royale Chulan Penang, you'll be centrally located in George Town, within a 10-minute drive of Penang Hill and Queen Victoria Clock Tower. This hotel also features complimentary wireless Internet access, concierge services, and a television in a common area. Stop by the hotel's restaurant, Sri Tanjung Cafe, for lunch or dinner. Dining is also available at the coffee shop/cafe, and room service is provided. Buffet breakfasts are available daily from 7 AM to 10:30 AM for a fee. Make yourself at home in one of the air-conditioned rooms featuring minibars and LCD televisions. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available to keep you connected. Bathrooms have rainfall showerheads and complimentary toiletries. Conveniences include phones, as well as safes and desks.

"The hotel's location is excellent. It's within walking distance to the Queen Victoria Memorial Clock Tower, City Hall, and the waterfront. You can also walk to the tourist area's mural streets and the Peranakan Museum. The cleanliness and service are both above average. Although the breakfast offers a good variety, the taste is just okay, but it was still the most palatable among the three hotels I stayed at this trip. They offer congee and pickled vegetables. The hotel provides large umbrellas for guests to borrow. However, it's really not necessary as rain in Penang usually comes in short bursts, so there's no need for such a big umbrella. The room is old, and the bathroom leaks, as shown in the picture. I wouldn't recommend booking breakfast at any hotel in Malaysia. Breakfast at local restaurants is much cheaper and tastier. The only thing you'll need to worry about in Penang is your appetite being too small!"

"This hotel was arguably the best value for money on our entire Singapore-Malaysia trip. The overall style is an unfussy, beachfront vibe. The basic room type, priced under 400 MYR, all come with balconies and are located in the main building on higher floors. We paid a little extra for a room type that required us to go down from the main hall and take another elevator; it was on a lower floor but closer to the sea, with a very large balcony and expansive views. It has all the standard resort amenities, the common areas are pleasant, the private beach offers fantastic scenery, and the sea-view restaurant is also quite good, especially the 38 MYR set menu which is excellent value."

Regarding the facilities, I need to pay by my own self for the car parking service. They are charging RM 24 per day and I am staying for 4 days 3 nights. Do you think how much I need to pay for the car parking which they never stated that visitors or customers need to paying by ourselves. I hope that in the future, please stated very clearly that we need to paying by ourselves without inform us.

Location is very convenient as it is in the old town of George Town, can walk to many restaurants and a big supermarket in MAGA. But the equipment and design of guest room are so terrible: ventilation in bathroom is removed, just left an empty, outside ”shell”...you can't get any air flow in its bathroom. And there is a connecting door between our room and the neighboring one, which resulted in very poor insulation. A south asian family was so noisy and aloud at a late night (kids' screaming, slamming the connecting door, etc.), so l have to knock out their door to let me be quite. Another minor point is the cleaner forgot to replenish toilet paper for a day and disposable slippers for a day. Anyway, the staff of Sunway Hotel are nice and friendly, esp. the security staff, who are very polite and helpful at loading/unloading luggage from taxi. Hope they can update and refurnish their rooms completely.

Really nice and clean place to stay in. Have a great meeting lobby, clean room. Also a convenient shop where you can get almost anything! Great location. Facilities are very good swimming pools, gyms but don’t have enough time to go around. The massage is at level 10, tried out. Not bad though.

Overall, it's pretty good and offers good value for money. Transportation: You can take a taxi to the Old Town or walk for 20 minutes. The hotel's area is relatively quiet and tidy. As an aside, I struggled with the accommodation area for a long time before my trip. I'm fine with the OZO area, but if I were to go again, I personally would prefer the Gurney Bay area. The atmosphere and cleanliness are much better there. Many parts of the Old Town are too old and chaotic. Cleanliness was satisfactory, even exceeding expectations. For service, I didn't encounter any Mandarin-speaking staff, but everyone was very friendly. Facilities: The rooftop pool has an excellent view directly facing the sea. It was wonderful to relax there every day. The breakfast restaurant also has a good view, and while the variety isn't huge, it's sufficient. In-room facilities are standard for a business hotel. I actually found it very convenient to get water from the water dispenser on my floor. There are two downsides: 1. The towels are very old and should be replaced; I used my own the entire time. 2. For some unknown reason, the Wi-Fi was extremely poor during my stay. My World Cup viewing corner's internet TV was almost unusable due to buffering. For tourists, poor internet is a significant issue.

The place it self was great, the cleanliness was very good and the service was excellent. The only downside we had was the neighbours upstairs kept making loud noises through out our stay, however credit to the agents they replied back to us promptly when we brought this up and had notified their landlord. Unfortunately this didn’t still resolve the loud noises. The building it self is nice, the pool is clean and well maintained, however the building does have a lot of regulations in place which we thought was quite excessive. Other than these minor issues we had a great time and the apartment is well kept.

Revisiting Penang this year, I chose to stay at Cititel Express again. The hotel had already arranged for early check-in via email, which I found very thoughtful and the service was perfect! Our family booked three rooms, and all of them were still clean and hygienic. Most importantly, there were no strange odors in the rooms. The bed linen and duvet covers were spotless with no dirty marks, and the air conditioning was excellent. The pool was even cleaner and more hygienic than last year. I also noticed many maintenance staff doing renovation and inspection work, which made me feel that the hotel management is excellent. Many new restaurants have opened near the hotel, reachable by foot without needing a car. A taxi from the airport to the hotel takes only about half an hour, which is very convenient. Next time we visit Penang, this hotel will still be our top choice!

The hotel's new location is good, but... The shower water pressure in the bathroom was very low, and it kept fluctuating between scorching hot and icy cold. The internet was terrible. Even connected to Wi-Fi, some apps wouldn't load properly. There was racial discrimination in the staff's service. A Malay guest parked their car in the EV charging spot all day without charging, and the staff didn't make them move, claiming the guest said their car was over 2500kg and couldn't go into the lift parking! We needed to charge but had no space, even though our car was larger and heavier than theirs, and the staff told us to use the lift parking! Then, as soon as we finished charging, they made us move our car early in the morning, while the Malay car next to us remained untouched! The staff even said, ”If your car is too heavy for the lift parking, find a place to park outside yourself!”

Recently returned from a 4D3N stay in Penang. Check-in was quick and efficient, with a RM200 deposit required upon arrival. The lobby is relatively small and always bustling with guests coming and going. There is a convenience store located on the ground floor, and a popular Japanese restaurant just outside where people are constantly queuing, giving the hotel a lively atmosphere. The hotel offers valet service. However, the personnel stationed at the main entrance were unable to assist with even basic questions regarding directions and nearby places, which was disappointing. Reception was consistently busy throughout our stay. While service was efficient, the team appeared overwhelmed at times, resulting in little interaction or welcoming hospitality. Rooms are located up to Level 35, while the gym and pool are on Level 36. The gym is surprisingly well-equipped and was one of the highlights of the stay. With the large number of rooms in the building and only four elevators in operation, waiting times can be quite long, especially during peak periods such as check-in, check-out, and evenings. Security was one area that concerned me. Access to guest floors requires a room key card, but I noticed there were no CCTV cameras inside the elevators, along the guest room corridors, or in the stairwells. Personally, this affected my sense of security. The room itself was spacious and offered a beautiful sea view, which I thoroughly enjoyed. There was also a filtered water dispenser in the room, a feature I appreciated. Basic amenities were provided. On the downside, the water pressure in the bathroom remained weak throughout my stay, and there was a constant sewage smell coming from the bathroom. The room also did not have a telephone or safe deposit box. To contact reception, guests need to communicate via WhatsApp. There is also no room service available, though this did not affect me personally. Check-out was effortless. I simply returned the room keys and left for my morning flight without any room inspection delays. Would I visit Penang again? Absolutely. Would I stay at this hotel again? Probably not. While the room size, view, and facilities were good, the security concerns and bathroom issues would likely lead me to explore other accommodation options on my next visit.
