"Returned to Holiday Villa Johor Bahru for my second stay, and it remains my go-to choice in JB. The location is unbeatable - having essential needs within walking distance and being right next to KSL City Mall makes everything completely effortless. The food options nearby continue to impress. I had a fantastic breakfast at Raden Cafe Johor with delicious local cuisine, and I satisfied my meat cravings at Beard Brothers JB - both are absolute must-try spots! Special thanks to the hotel team for making the stay seamless. The staff was incredibly helpful with handling my laundry, and having valet service on site made parking entirely stress-free. Looking forward to my third visit!"

"Although our first impression was not very good as there was no electricity when we arrived, the staff were very responsive and kept us updated on when the electricity would be restored. We also had an issue with the water, but the staff quickly arranged for a plumber to come and fix it. Their staffs prompt response and helpfulness in resolving the issues. the location was convenient. Overall, a good experience and would consider staying here again. 😊"

"This was my second time staying at New York Hotel. This time, I stayed in a Family Room. We originally had three people, and after added an extra bed. The price was still quite reasonable, and breakfast was included, which was a good value. The breakfast was one of the highlights of my stay. There were many choices, including local Malaysian favourites such as roti prata, nasi lemak, porridge, and more. I really enjoyed having so many different options. My favourite part of the hotel is definitely the indoor swimming pool. The hotel also has a gym and jacuzzi, which are great facilities for relaxing and enjoying some downtime. The Family Room was very spacious, and the view was beautiful. The location is also convenient, making it easy to get around and access nearby places. However, there are still some areas that need improvement. The shower mat was quite dirty, which was disappointing. Also, out of the three towels provided, two of them had a very strong unpleasant smell. I hope the hotel can pay more attention to the cleanliness and freshness of the towels and bathroom items. Another thing I found inconvenient was that there were only two charging sockets in the room, and one of them was located in the bathroom. For a family room, I think having more charging points would be much more convenient for guests. Overall, I still enjoyed my stay because of the spacious room, beautiful view, good breakfast, indoor swimming pool, gym and jacuzzi. However, I hope the hotel can improve the cleanliness of the bathroom items, the smell of the towels, and provide more convenient charging points."

"Holiday Inn Johor Bahru City Centre is a really comfortable hotel with some excellent touches. The rooms feel new and are very well designed. I particularly liked the bedding, with both soft and firm pillows available, and the soothing lighting makes the room feel very relaxing. Everything was clean and thoughtfully laid out. I also liked the convenience of having power sockets with built-in USB slots—very useful for charging devices without needing to carry extra adapters. The bathroom was a real highlight. I honestly liked everything about the shower. The water pressure and temperature were excellent, but what impressed me most was the design. The shower area is properly enclosed, so the water doesn’t end up flooding or leaking into the basin area. It’s a small detail, but one that makes a big difference. The toiletries also had a lovely aroma, while the overall bathroom design was modern, spacious and practical. Breakfast was another highlight. There was a great spread with a wide range of food, offering plenty of choices to suit different tastes. The facilities are good too. The gym has several treadmills as well as a tower gym, so there’s plenty of equipment for a proper workout. The rooftop swimming pool on Level 32 is another highlight, offering fantastic views of both the Johor Bahru and Singapore skylines. My only complaint is the car park. The parking area on Level 7 is quite narrow, and there is one particularly tricky bend at the exit that requires some serious manoeuvring. You can actually see the walls bearing the scars of many cars that didn’t quite make it through unscathed! Overall, a very comfortable and well-designed hotel with lots of thoughtful details. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely come back again — just be prepared for the car park!"

"Had a really nice stay here! We stayed in the 2-bedroom Seaview Suite with the Coco Signature theme and honestly loved how aesthetic the whole place was. Definitely a very nice spot for taking photos! The room was really spacious and the seaview from the balcony was my favourite part. It’s such a nice place to just sit, chill and enjoy the view. Both bedrooms were spacious with comfortable queen-size beds, and the pillows were SO soft and fluffy — literally felt like sleeping on clouds 😂 The living room was cosy too, with a comfy sofa, aircon and a TV box with lots of movies to watch. They even provided a card game, which was a nice little touch. The dining area was also really cute with a fake candle on the table, so you could even have a little candlelight dinner/date night there. The kitchen was very clean and well-equipped. They provided utensils, microwave, kettle, water dispenser, big fridge and washing machine. I also really appreciated the small details like trash bags, dish soap, sponge and a bottle brush — especially useful if you’re travelling with a baby and need to wash bottles. There’s also a laundry basket and fire extinguisher provided. Cleanliness was honestly 10/10 for me. The whole suite was very clean and tidy when we arrived, including the balcony. I couldn’t spot any dirt, dust or stains. Bathroom was clean and dry, bedsheets were clean and neat, and the towels were nicely rolled and placed on the bed. Everything was in good condition and there was no weird smell. There’s no front desk, but communication with the owner through WhatsApp was easy. The owner was friendly and quick to reply, and the instructions were very clear and easy to follow. They also helped us with directions to the swimming pool and gym. Location-wise, there are lots of food places, marts and a Starbucks nearby, and getting Grab was easy. The beach area is nice and chill for walking around and relaxing, although swimming in the sea isn’t recommended because of crocodile warnings. A few things could be improved though. The swimming pool water wasn’t as clear as I expected and there was some seaweed in it. Also, if you’re travelling with a baby, moving around the property can be a little tiring because of the doors and lift access between the guardhouse and the lift area. It would be much easier if you have your own vehicle as you can park closer to the lift. Overall, I really enjoyed the stay. The place is spacious, clean, aesthetic and honestly quite reasonably priced. The seaview and the Coco theme were definitely the highlights for me. I would stay here again and would recommend it especially for families because of the space, but it’s also really nice for couples who want a cosy and pretty place for a short getaway. Definitely a solid 4/5 from me! ❤️"

"Hotel was clean and quite. Fast check in and check out. Service was good. Location ok. Short walking distance to KSL mall and a massage parlour just besides the hotel. Very convenient to book grab from the hotel to anywhere."
