Kalev Spa Hotel & Waterpark

Tallinn Old Town
As the title suggests, what we liked best was the fresh attitude among the staff. Friendly; no little thing was a problem; worlds apart from the ”Good Old Soviet Style” you still can occasionally run into when travelling in Estonia. Our room was tidy, with a balcony and a view to direction St. Olafs church. Breakfast was excellent. If only they had one or two jacuzzis in the spa... Actually, the place looked to us more like a swimming centre (with a 50 meter pool) than a spa, although this might look different if you are travelling with children. But anyways, the steam sauna was very good!
Meriton Old Town Garden Hotel

Tallinn Old Town
This is a typical 3.5 star European hotel. It is in an excellent location in the middle of the Tallinn Old Town, has comfortable but typically-smallish double rooms, wonderful breakfasts, and warm ac. I would recommend it to couples. However, we would not stay here again. Even though we booked and were fully paid more than 2 months before the hotel stay, we were told on our arrival that our room had been, ”double booked”. We were dispatched to a room with smaller than single beds positioned end to end in a room that resembled a school camp facility. When I suggested that this was unsatisfactory, the front desk person stated in front of other guests, ”That's too bad”. After walking the old town and returning, the manager had placed us in a better room for one night and we then had our pre-booked room for the next three nights. Additionally, the lift does not extend to the 4th floor so it was a struggle carrying large suitcases up stairs and across other uneven floors. Finally at check out, the receptionist insisted that our original payment was rejected by ”their system” so I had to pay again. She withdrew the allegation after I showed her a stamped receipt. She then retorted, ”must have been a system error”. In my opinion, two different staff members could benefit from some serious service-industry professional development. However, other staff were very friendly and helpful; it was a very central location; and the breakfasts were delicious.
Park Inn by Radisson Meriton Conference Spa Tallin

I recently stayed at the Radisson Blu Hotel and had a mostly positive experience. The location is fantastic, being close to the old town, major tourist attractions, and a variety of restaurants. The highlight of the hotel is the Sky Lounge on the 26th floor, which offers stunning 360-degree views of the city. I highly recommend visiting at sunset and for night views – it’s incredible. The hotel also features a bar and a restaurant on the ground floor, and I appreciated the complimentary water bottles and the coffee and tea selection in the rooms. Hotel rooms are comfortable. Additionally, there's a small area near the reception where you can get free water, snacks, and fruits, which is a nice gesture not commonly found in other hotels. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and they offer a free luggage room. The staff was really helpful throughout my stay. However, the room service was disappointing; the cleaner didn’t spend enough time cleaning the room or bathroom properly. On a positive note, we tried the spa, which is excellent. If you buy a coupon at the hotel reception, it costs €10, compared to €25 at the spa counter. The spa features a nice pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and steam rooms. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Radisson Blu Hotel and would recommend it.

Mercure Tallinn

This if former ”Ulemiste hotel”, recently rebranded to ”Mercure”. If not mistaking, some period during and post-covid it was not functioning. From interior/exterior point of view nothing much changed, even colours and furniture remained original from previous hotel. Food quality during breakfast slightly improved, didn't try restaurant onsite, but must say bar doesn't have draught beer, only bottled. Bed was comfortable, sound insulation reasonable. The only downside - permanently changing temperature of water from hot to cold. Parking free for hotel guests. 100m from hotel - large ”Ulemiste” shopping mall with many shops and places to eat. Overall would recomend, if you don't desperatelly want to stay in old city. Myself would stay if price offer is attractive only.
Metropol Spa Hotel

The decoration of the room is typical Scandinavian style. There is a clothesline in the bathroom (look carefully at the white line in the first picture). The room is well ventilated. The thick socks and autumn clothes and trousers washed at night will dry after waking up I regret that I brought too much clothes. Western breakfast: bread, cheese (and blue cheese) bacon, cured fish skin, sandwiches, fruits, coffee, vegetables, juice. The surrounding shopping and special food are very convenient. The disadvantage is that there is no scenery outside the room window.

Great Hotel near the gate to Old City. Nice spacious rooms, modern design with nice features, impeccably clean. Amazing spa and pool, 2 types of sauna on top floor with view over Tallinn. Great breakfast with big choice (thought many people, so come early). Tea/coffee/water in the room, quiet. Many restaurant options behind the hotel, as well as 1min walk to enter Old City. You can keep your bags if arrived early or departing later. Really enjoyed my stay.
Movenpick Hotel Tallinn
4.6/5126 Reviews
One of the best if not the best hotel I've been to. Quiet and clean, we tried to find out what the wonderful smell is in the lobby, but there was no information about it. Everything worked in a hotel room, which is rare. I would give five stars, but a few details bothered me: the soap and shampoo bottles in the hotel rooms and in the showers in the spa area were stiff and difficult to use. In addition, spa is perhaps a bit of an exaggerated term here, because in practice it is a swimming pool and sauna area. The pool is small and at least on Saturday night the youth there were too rowdy (which is not the hotel's fault), more spacious during the week. The customer service was very friendly throughout, although in the breakfast room you sometimes had to point out the cleaning of the tables so that you can eat at them. Upscale Roof restaurant and good customer service. I see no reason to change the hotel to another one the next time I go to Tallinn. Hopefully then I will get the welcome drink that I would have been entitled to as a user of the phone app.
Oru Hub Hotel Tallinn - Handwritten Collection

Kadriorg
Really great place very close to an amazing park and the seaside promenade. They have an amazing bistro where the borscht was absolutely divine. I loved the concept of the coworking space, DIY room and Yoga room. The only negative comment I have - I didn't appreciate breakfast staff member trying to talk with us only in Russian. She didn't know English and I'm not sure if she knew Estonian. Slightly upsetting.
Lermitage Hotel Tallinn
4.3/5122 Reviews
I have no idea why this hotel is classed as 4*. I stayed in a tiny box room where the temperature could not be controlled and was just too hot for me. The window could only be opened slightly which kept shutting on its own accord! The staff did provide me with a fan though, which helped. There was no hospitality tray, which for a so called 4* is a basic. Their description says it’s 5 mins from the town Sq. It is NOT by any stretch of the imagination. It’s at least 15 mins, up a hill, then down a hill. It’s hard work. The breakfast service was an absolute shambles. Everything crowded together in one corner. A coffee machine that took ages to dispense coffee and i only wanted hot water. There was a massive queue for the buffet, then a queue for the drinks. Once you’ve got your food, there was no where left to sit, with people wandering around with plates of food. It was the most stressful breakfast service i’ve ever endured and the whole process took over an hour to complete. i was utterly fed up. Bed was comfy though. If i could have stayed somewhere else, i would have done. Not very pleasant for a holiday experience
