It is an old hotel. I have no expectation as for the price I paid. However, if you are staying here for conference, you may have a better choice of hotel. The queue for breakfast can be troublesome.

Have already stayed several times in the Carathotel. Everything is modern and practical. Though the rooms are not luxurious, they are very functional and beds are comfortable. Everything from check-in to check-out can be done online or at the check-in tablet stations. Great location to main shopping areas (Kö) and just 10 min walk to the main train station. Bonus are the fantastic luxury Edeka supermarket in the same building, as well as access to the very funky John Reed gym just around the corner for just EUR 5 through the hotel.

There was no air conditioning (AC) even though the hotel advertised as having it. Their excuses was that it was too cool at night to operate the AC for the hotel even though it was actually very warm outside. Translation: the entire hotel is either on heat or AC, they are too frugal to allow use of the advertised AC, or their system is outdated and does not actually work properly. Very hot and stuff room. The odd thing was is that the hotel lobby seemed to have AC. The hallways and room were uncomfortably hot. Upon checking in there was only a little bit of toilet paper was left on the roll. Fortunately there was an extra roll provided. Only a few sheets of Kleenex were in the box. Also, the hand soap dispenser was nearly empty. It seems not much care is given to the rooms between guests. On our last day the housekeeper knocks on the door early in the morning even tough the “do not disturb” sign was hung on the door. It was a basic room with furnishings that included a desk, a small round table, 2 small nightstands, a desk chair, and one sitting chair. There was no usable refrigerator, just a mini bar. The was only one suitcase rack situated in the closet. We had to use the sitting chair for our other suitcase. The beds were not too comfortable. Also the pillow case did not completely cover the pillow, so your head might rest upon the exposed portion of the pillow where the lasts hundreds of guest placed their heads. Bathroom was OK but a bit smelly. The shower had low water pressure. Some water will leak out under the shower door to the floor. Stepping over the high tub with a slippery shower floor is a bit precarious. Internet speed was 3.81 Mbps in both upload and download, with 8 ms latency. The location is near the chocolate museum and a good pizza and pasta restaurant is nearby. The cathedral is less than a mile away. At almost 400 euros a night, it was very expensive for a poor experience. Perhaps HN stands for “Not Happy.”

Google maps was showing me different directions - the problem is that the station is parallel to the dom and to get to the road level, you have to do down and not up the stairs to the dom. I did not use the facilities or the food. I did appreciate that they had water in the room and fruits at the reception area. They also had left luggage at no charge.

We had to check in very late (about 02:30), but that was not a problem at all. The service was very friendly and helpful. We had booked a room for 3 people over Booking.com that was unfortunately no longer available on site. We were fully unproblematic and without additional costs ”distributed” to two Comfort double rooms and received another drink from the house bar for free as an excuse. The rooms themselves are very well equipped and comfortable. The included breakfast was the “hammer” and very rich and varied. Of us absolutely recommended. A parking house is right next to and has not cost us anything.

Dear readers, as unsatisfactory guest, I would like to share my experience in this hotel. First of all, I must say that the central location of the hotel is positive. I also liked the impressive hall of red marble in the eastern style. My room on the 5th floor was pleasantly large and offered a good view of the city. Unfortunately, this is the hotel at the crossing of two main roads. This means that the traffic around the clock is very strong and especially at night when the Poser scene tries her PS-stark cars, I was always wake up at night. Also the equipment is simple and has come into the years. The garden fell to me immediately when hearing, because the holder was defect and it was no longer fitted. The very bright room was also a big problem because I could hear any noise from the neighbouring rooms. The breakfast was a great disappointment, as low-quality goods were used, the cheapest available on the market. All in all, this was the last time I stayed in this hotel. On the second day I went to a bakery in the morning. Unfortunately, I can't make a recommendation for this hotel and advise potential guests to look after a better option. We had 5 rooms during Orgatec Exhibition. Hotel was new, employees were kind, breakfast was good and in general it was a clean hotel. It is not in city center but really easy to reach Rudofplatz or Heumarkt with 2 Tram Lines and it takes only 5 stops. Also there were some restaurant and supermarkets around for our needs. Therefore we enjoyed our stay in hotel. Only thing which was negative, you need to inform reception each morning for cleaning rooms. Otherwise it was not cleaned. (we are not informed about this during check-in so we learned that after first day) Despite we informed that for each day, second day of our stay 2/5 rooms are not cleaned. Except this, it was all well clean

This was my first time back since my military days and having travelled through Germany in the 3 years I was here, I haven’t changed my opinion that Cologne is the best city to visit. This time I was here for the FIBO fair and stayed at the Mercure for the first time. As expected it was first class and the hospitality of its staff was impeccable. The hotel is out to the west which means a 20-30 minute tram ride into the main area around the cathedral and river but once you master the payment system you will enjoy the experience, with the trams being on time throughout. The only criticism is that being a fitness person and witnessing others like me staying at the hotel, the gym was poor consisting of only 3 cardio machines in a tiny room. A small set of dumbbells would be a welcome addition and would have justified a 5 star instead of the 4 I have given. Otherwise well done to all the staff for a highly enjoyable stay. Ich bin eine gebürtige Essenerin und kenne deshalb das Hotel schon ewig. Die Lage ist zentral, gegenüber vom Hauptbahnhof und mitten in der Stadt. Die Zimmer sind je nach Kategorie geräumig. Ich finde es toll, das man die Fenster öffnen kann. Auch die Betten sind bequem. Frühstück gegen Aufpreis, dort gibt es allerdings Verbesserungspotential. Trotzdem 100% Empfehlung

The smallest room has plenty of space for one night, the bathroom could be more functional with more storage options, the shower is amazing. The unpleasant surprise came the next morning when breakfast was ”delivered”, which is to be taken literally as it handed out in a cartonage box. Inside were two sandwiches (ham and salami), one hard-boiled egg and fruits. If that's not to your taste - tough luck! Do not get me wrong: I can live with terrible breakfast, I am okay to (over)pay for good/halfway acceptable breakfast, but for 14€ I expect a level of choice that goes beyond vegan, vegetarian or normal. If you hope for that to have changed in the future, I also have to disappoint you: The receptionist was well-aware of the fact that this offer is a rip-off.

The (non-upgraded) room is relatively spacious, well designed and quiet. I'm glad I did not accept a higher cost upgrade option. It was great for a 4-day stay. There's a separate area for clothing and storage, and a small refrigerator. There was a wall of windows, good light and effective blackout curtains. The in-room coffee service is nice - I didn't find this in my other hotels. The breakfast buffet is worth the price, especially considering the quality, and that a single cup of coffee elsewhere can easily be 5 Euros. It's not a train station hotel (one mile away from the HBF and the Dom), but this hotel is in a very nice area, and is convenient to a great many dining and entertainment options for a Cologne tourist. It's not horrible to take the train here (with one connection) if you are reasonably mobile. Public transit options are many once you figure them out. The USB charging outlets are helpful -- and I did not find these in any other of my hotels. Overall, this chain is a significant step up from the likes of Ibis and Motel One. This hotel is very much worth the reasonable premium it charges. Desk staff was very friendly and helpful throughout my visit. I would happily return to this property.

I’ve had a wonderful stay at the Rescidence Hotel. Staff was very friendly and kind, the room was clean and there was enoough space for 2 persons. The bed was a bit hard for my preference but we stayed for just two nights so it was ok. The location of the Hotel was perfect, between the bars/pubs and the centre. Allthough the busy environment, we were not bothered by noise. I would definitely visit this Hotel if i’m going back to Köln.

Definitely one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in and the best hotel from Accor Hotels. I had accidentally booked the wrong dates for my stay. As soon as I realised it, I contacted the hotel. The staff helped me to change my reservation dates. While on my trip, due to the strikes in France and problems with the train connections I had to postpone my meeting online. I sent an email to request to check in early since I will be having my meeting at 1 p.m. Ms Wulff made the necessary arrangements prior to my arrival. On my arrival I was able to check in early and able to proceed with my online meeting. Without her help I would not be able to conduct my meeting. On the next day, I had another online meeting. Her colleague made the necessary arrangements so that the housekeeping team could get the room cleaned before lunch and my next online appointment. Till date I have stayed in a number of hotels from the Accor Hotels group. In comparison to M Gallery am Konzerthaus in Wien, Hotel Mondial am Dom in Cologne exceeds my expectations. Professionalism The staff at the reception were not only friendly and good at what they are doing, they are also willing to help and went an extra mile to make things possible. I would not have been able to get my work done if they did not help me. Even when checking out, the staff was professional and showed interest to assist customers whenever they dan. Splendid Location Situation a few minutes walk from the train station and the main city area, is this hotel definite one of the most strategic location in Cologne. View of the Cathedral I managed to get a glimpse of the cathedral from my room. Dinner I had dinner at the hotel restaurant. It was not only affordable, the service was impeccable. Wegen Streiks und Probleme mit Deutsch Bahn musste ich meine Termine verschieben. Ich habe das Hotel gefragt ob ich früher einchecken kann um mein Termin online wahr zu nehmen. Frau Wullf hat alles für mich arrangiert damit ich meinen Termin online fortsetzen kann. Am nächsten Tag habe ich auch einen Termin online. Der Kollege von Frau Wulff hat mit dem Housekeeping-Team koordiniert damit das Zimmer von 13 Uhr fertig gereinigt ist. Dadurch könnte ich meinen Termin um 14 Uhr wahrnehmen. Quietly, conveniently and serenely stayed at this hotel for the past 6 days. Good to recommend this hotel as a priority choice especially for cologne travellers who preferable to stay away from bustling areas. An enjoyable back and forth daily walk from hotel to train station whereby some good restaurants are the best solutions of our hungers. Highly recommended to stay and definitely will stay again in the future. Thank you..

Lovely hotel. Super conveniently located! Only 3 minutes walk from Düsseldorf main train station, 20 or so minute from DÜSSELDORF airport with taxi. Connected to several regional train lines. Right at the hotel entrance there is a tram stop, that would connect you to the whole city or take you with one min trip drive to the HBF. The hotel have a restaurant that offers an extensive breakfast buffet. They were on a soft opening phase, yet the breakfast is super exclusive, also have vegan and vegetarian options. The staff is super attentive and caring. Got a room with a balcony, a friend of mine with 2 kids got an amazing connected room in the ground floor overlooking the hotel garden! Suitable hotel for business travels, tourists who wanna stay in the hub of the city and families. I think the hotel have 2 buildings and both are elevator accessible and also for visitors with wheelchairs. I haven’t been in a meeting there but the hotel also offer meeting spaces and meeting rooms. I have seen the signs in the elevators. Wifi is available and free of charge too. I don’t have a car but my friend did. The hotel doesn’t offer a parking place, but it wasn’t a problem for us. There are parking places that are available around the main station area or in nearby parkings. Or you can park on the street around the hotel at an extra cost. It is a bit costly to park per hour, would recommend to park per 24 hour. Last but not least the hotel offers an amazing work area, with a huge table with plugs for laptops suitable for businessmen, students and anyone who would like to remotely work from a comfy convenient place. Prices are super suitable for coffee, drinks etc.

Will come over again another three years for the K-Fairl.

I didn't expect this hotel next to the airport to be so good. It is spacious, bright and comfortable, and the lobby is also very bright. I used to live next to the Sheraton, but now it seems that the Sheraton is so bad. . .

Wonderful hotel with warm and very passionate personnel. Great food and the drinks in the bar should not be missed. Warm and comfortable room, in the morning a great selection of food items at breakfast should not be missed! The hotel is a great place to visit the city with the metro station next to the hotel. It is one of those peculiar hotels that serve one purpose only - in this case it is staying for one night when you change planes. The hotel offers everything that is necessary in this case - it is located across the street from the airport, you really can't miss it (the route is well marked all the way). It offers quiet rooms with no view and (probably, my plane was very early so I missed it) breakfast in the morning. I can't comment on how it looks from the outside as I arrived at night and left before dawn but also because it is located on the top floor of a multilevel car parking.

Stayed for 2 nights on business..The hotel has a perfect location and is walking distance from Hauptbahnof..The rooms are of decent size..The breakfast menu is repetitive but the food quality is good..The staff is courteous and always available to serve you

The location is perfect. Lots of Japanese restaurants and cafes in surrounding area. Hotel room is nice but our room had a loud noise from the airco when it turned on. The cleaning service could done a better job.

Hello, I wish for all when they book a hotel to be very careful,I forgot my apple watch in the room that we booked it no.142 , and after 30 minute from checking out I called the hotel and the women in the reception answered, said that they will check, then after couple of minutes she called me and said they couldn't find it .I went there to check , and the room was cleaned also the room was already given already to their new guest . I asked the staff again and they said they searched but it was not there and checked again in the tracking app of apple , it shows the location of the watch which is (the Hotel location) . that's really first time happened to me and I'm shocked .I couldn't get my watch until now ,so I hope you better be careful . Due to the pleasant experience of an IntercityHotel, we have chosen the IntercityHotel Dortmund for our bike tours around Dortmund, especially since this was also a price-friendly framework. The location is of course unslaughterable - only about 200m from the main railway station and about 300m from the metro ”Campstraße” directly in the pedestrian zone of Dortmund. With the free ÖPNV ticket from the hotel you can unlimitedly use all the ÖPNV transportation free of charge use and your own car can stay comfortable on the hotel parking. Even bicycles can be stored on your own bicycle parking sites. Very pre-eminent and helpful hotel staff. A good meeting hotel with the various conference rooms. The room was bright and friendly and above all generous designed. Since our room went to the back of the hotel, no noise from outside was heard even in open windows. The breakfast was ok - there was nothing that was not. Toy, cooked egg, sauce, S*****en, marmelade, yoghurt, musli, etc. That was tasty, but we had it in other hotels that were cheaper, much better. The only thing to defect was that was a little deficient housekeeping (it was not done twice the room) and the modgful room air after the air conditioning operation - especially as the window was only opened a small column and only on kipp (We were in another hotel on weekend and had a room in the 10th floor and the windows were completely opened ...) Because the IntercityHotel Dortmund is still very new (it was called opening to East 2022) I will describe this as ”children's diseases” and trust the hotel management to get it in hand. We will not be the last time in DO as fans of the Black Yellows ;-)

Ein sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Zimmer, mit dessem Größe wir nicht gerechnet hatten. Neben dem großen Doppelbett standen am Eck noch eine Couch und ein Sessel nebst Tischchen. An der Wand hing in sehr großer Flachbild-TV, auf dem sogar SKY-TV kostenlos genutzt werden konnte, ebenso das war das W-Lan inkludiert. Das Bad war zwar etwas beengt, aber gut ausgestattet und modern eingerichtet. Das gesamte Haus erschien vor nicht allzu langer Zeit renoviert worden zu sein, die Gänge waren im modernenStil gehalten und sprachen mit den Foto-Tapeten mit Aufdrücken von James Dean, Madonna und anderen Stars auch das jüngere Klientel an. Leider gab es nur einen Aufzug, der dem Alter des Gebäudes entsprach aber nicht minder schlecht funktionierte. Das Frühstücks-Buffet war sehr lecker. Gut sortierte Wurstsorten nebst Salami und auch Cornedbeef. Verschiedenste Marmeladen,Schoko-Cremes und einefrische Honig-Wabe standen genau so da wie auch eine gut sortierteReihe an Cerealien mit Frischer Milch, verschedenste Säfte und zwei Caffee-Vollautomaten mit Milch-Caffee, Cappucino, Latte-Machiato und Espresso, aslo für jeden was dabei. Es gab sogar Lachs, der in kleinen Portionen dageboten wurde. Man konnte sich auch frisches Omelett oder Spiegeleier und frischen Speck braten lassen. Brötchen verschiedenster Art, Weizen, Roggen,- und sogar Milch-Brötchen sowie verschiedene Brot-Sorten und Croussons mit oder ohne Schoko-Füllung. Abgerundet wurde das Buffet mit frischem Obst. Man füllte mir bei Abreise sogar meine Thermoskanne mit frischem Filterkaffee für die Heimreise. Ich habe selten ein so reichhaltiges und leckeres Frühstück in einem Hotel erleben dürfen.

Stayed here for three nights to visit Dortmund for the first time. Hotel has a great location in the middle of the city, close to the train station, and underground parking is a big plus. Had a nice street view from my room on the 5th floor. Rooms are nice and spacious. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Breakfast is great, but maybe a bit too expensive. Would definitely come back here on my next trip to Dortmund.

We spent about 2 weeks here during a family visit. It's a fairly new hotel with a few kinks. Let me start with the positives. Staff are great, no exception. The included breakfast is great, but after 2 weeks with zero variation, it began to wear thin. The espresso maker is available to guests at no extra charge all day, which is plain fabulous. There's a serious issue with the hotel parking. They have a *very* limited number of parking bays, so you never know, when you return, whether there's space for you. There's plenty of other parking in the vicinity, but if you don't know your way around town, it's an issue. Many guests simply leave their cars in the no parking zone adjacent to the hotel. Not sure whether there's a deal with the city ticketing people, but I don't think anyone ever got a ticket in the two weeks that we spent there. You do so at your own risk, obviously, We went through various rooms because the air conditioning didn't work (and it wasn't even summer). I don't want to know what this would look like when it's actually hot. Frightening. It took their staff days to figure out what the problem is (after initially denying that there was a problem to begin with). Not great. WiFi worked great, in the room and the lobby, which has plenty of seating in case you prefer a workspace that's not in your room. There's a small, but decently equipped, gym for hotel guests. The room is what you'd expect of a Residence Inn, spacious, fridge, microwave. The cleaners did a pretty good job maintaining it on a daily basis, there's none of the corner cutting you'd find in other hotels on multi-day stays. Very grateful for that effort. This definitely works as a longer-stay property, just beware of regular soccer events in the city, the guest crowd shifts from business people to soccer fans (with no negative impact, I should add, everyone was at their best behaviours). I would return without hesitation.

The price is very convenient. The location is very beautiful and Turkish restaurants are on the street. The room is a front number. The tea Water coffee is all available and the tea heating is available. I want to come back to a great place.

Nice clean hotel with friendly staff. The location is excellent. If travelling by car it is easy to find, just off the autobahn. Parking is free. There is a train station 10 minutes walk away to get into town. The football ground is a 25 minute walk away, which is ideal for after the game to avoid the crowds. You can see the ground from the hotel. It has a small bar which is ideal after the walk back.

Lovely hotel, clean, lovely decor, very welcoming staff and extremely very helpful. Great choice of breakfast and really fresh. WiFi not good at all but the great staff at reception got us logged in after we couldn’t connect but it kept dropping after a few minutes and we had to reconnect, we had roaming on our mobile plans so it wasn’t a hassle. Definitely a location hotel perfect for easy transport to Dortmund Signal Iduna Park or a spot of city shopping. This is a city centre hotel so be warned there is a bit of noise and you do hear faint rumble of the underground rail system now and again which is very close by but a seasoned traveller who does their homework would know there is always some sort of noise in a city centre but don’t let it put you off this hotel, I would return in a heartbeat.

Just back from a wonderful stay at this hotel. Great location close to the train station, the city centre and the U-Bahn station so very easy to get to & from. Despite the busy location, our room was very quiet. Even with both windows open at night, we barely heard any noise. The room was nice & cozy, clean with plenty of storage. It appears that someone had run off with the TV remote but the staff immediately fixed the issue and brought us a new one. And speaking of the staff, every single person working there was nothing but friendly & helpful. From the lady at reception who upon learning that we were going to the medieval market, immediately got us a map of the city & explained how to get there & where the other markets (and the largest Christmas tree) were. Even the breakfast staff on Sunday found us a spot to sit & were very approachable even though they were clearly rushed off their feet during the breakfast rush. We were very well looked after. Breakfast was great every day. After 2 nights of markets & gigs, we slept in on Sunday so arrived during peak time for breakfast but the other 3 mornings, it was a lot calmer/quieter. The hotel is embracing the city's cultural heritage beautifully. It inspired us to seek some of the city's former steelworks. Overall highly recommend the hotel & its staff.
