It was 34/35 degrees throughout my stay and despite putting the aircon on 16 degrees with maximum fans, the temperature in the room barely dropped below 27/28 degrees all night. Bring your own fan! The “smart” controls meant that all the lights in the bathroom came on as soon as you moved, which is not what you want in the middle of the night. Equally, the control panel was blinking constantly, right next to the bed, which was very annoying if that kind of thing affects your sleep (it does mine). Worst of all was the TV that simply would not turn off, and was incredibly bright, right in front of the bed. I ended up having to dismount the TV from the wall and completely unplugging it just to get the room semi-dark. Incredibly annoying. If you want a dark room, with a comfortable temperature, this is not the place for you… Its a shame, because the hotel has potential, but as it is I can’t recommend it given these fairly fundamental issues.

As we had an early flight to leave Urumqi the next day, we could not have breakfast. We negotiated with the front desk and let us have breakfast on the morning of check-in. It was very humane. The hotel is also flexible when it comes to late check out, allowing us to use the room till 5pm. They also have a laundry room equipped with excellent washer and dryer machines that are free for guests to use. If there is something to pick on the hotel, the breakfast can be improved, and should start earlier than 8am.

The Kashgar TV Tower is just a short walking distance down the road which is a must see for its observation deck for a bird’s eye view of the city. At night with the lights on ( the ancient city and tower) it is just magical! Furthermore if you buy a certain amount in it’s gift shop you can get a free ticket to go up. Will definitely book this hotel again if coming back.

Excellent location close to Kashgar ancient city and amenities.room is huge and clean every day.we loved the welcome dance hosted by hotel everyday.it is so enjoyable to watch the pretty xin Xiang girls dance we stay here for 5 days.highly recommended to all who planned to visit Kashgar.it valued for money not so expensive.

It seems to be a cooperation with the store next door. It does not match the hotel's quality. There are few categories. There is an **** aunt at the breakfast. The service attitude is very poor. We stayed two nights separated by one night in Tashkurgan.The best part of the first day was spent locating an agent to provide a car and driver to Tashkurgan. My wife and me were sent to the Kashgar Tourist centre beyond the airport to apply for a Border Travel Permit to Tashkurgan and astonished to find the place closed being Sunday 24th June. Staff at the reception were all friendly and enthusiastic. Only two lifts served both Orange and Mercure which were inadequate. Mercure provides free pick up and sent from anf to airport but requires 4 hours advance confirmation. We requested sent off to airport for 1005 flight to Chengu. Staff confirmed reservation for two leaving at 0800 which is too early for breakfast at hotel. So an arrangement was made for wake up call, picnic boxes to takeaway. On 26th morning, the short bald old man probably working as bell boy scolded me why I am alone at the lobby at 0752 and that there are other guests waiting in the car. Fully seated by 0755, we discovered that the rush was to pick up another passenger for the one remaining seat in the 7- seater! We had to travel west to Tianshan road, pick up the last passenger at Hanting Hotel before making east and north to Kashgar Airport. The experience totally spoilt my day, wiped out any good feeling or impression with Mercure and never mind about the promised packed breakfast boxes.

The room is clean and tidy, with complete facilities. We upgraded to a larger room for free. The location is very good, very close to the east gate of the ancient city, less than ten minutes' walk, very convenient. The service attitude at the front desk of the hotel is very good, and Xiaoxia's reception is very warm. There were two other front desk staff whose names we didn't know, but they were also very enthusiastic and gave us a detailed introduction to the self-driving tour route, which was very considerate. The overall experience is very good. I will introduce friends here next time
