Swiss-Belsuites Pounamu Queenstown

1. Location: It's convenient and great if you don't have a car as it's only 10 mins away from the city centre. There is a bus stop to go to the airport and city just next to the hotel. There's the Queenstown Trail track just down the road if you wish to have a pleasant walk along the lake. 2. Service: The guy who did our check-in did it like he was repeating a song that he was fed up with singing. Good for those in a hurry who like express check-in with 0 personalization or care but that was NOT a 5* check-in. 3. Room: Booked a standard room on Luxury Escapes, but I don't think the hotel should be on this ”high standard” booking platform. Our room was on the ground floor, so everybody could see us and our belongings. The room was old and small. We had very little room left being 2 people with 2 big luggages. One of the two glasses in the bathroom was still dirty from the previous guests. The blinds didn't work properly and we had to find tricks to close them so people wouldn't see us get changed or sleep! Your sleep might get disturbed if passersby are loud and drunk lol. The washing machine was literally just in front of our room door (a thin door) and woke us up super early one morning. The TV didn't work. Big lack of plugs outlets. Overall, if you're planning on spending the entire day outside and getting back to the room just for sleep then you're fine but don't expect anything fancy.

Hmmm let’s start with the positives, The views from the room spectacular, the ducks on the lake the serenity of the surroundings. Clear crisp water, sounds of the birds chirping in the willows surrounding the banks. Beautiful views The room is entered was a surprise, very warm in the room on the first day of autumn. It had all the amenities that you need for a one night stay, could use with a wee bit of an update for price, but the location is on point Air conditioning did not work in our room, after ringing reception several times on my own personal cell phone we were greeted by a restaurant manager, and bought us over a fan as the room was unbelievably warm and uncomfortable. The man tried to work the air conditioning unit himself to know avail. All in all, the hotel was nothing to rave about. To reflect the price of this day I would expect working air conditioning unit, couch in the room to relax on, and a water blast on the deck would not hurt. Was nice to try but probably wouldn’t stay here again.

The decor reminded me of an Austin Powers movie - it was quirky and colorful. Our two rooms were quiet. The room amenities - coffee, tea, hot chocolate, sparkling water, cookies, popcorn were appreciated. It is a short walk to downtown Queenstown. Our travel company booked our rooms along with our tours so I can not speak to price as it was all included in our trip. I would use this hotel again as the beds were comfortable and the rooms large and clean. Just be aware that breakfast is not served until 8 am - we missed it two out of our three days since we had early tours. When we were able to use it on our last day the ham & cheese croissants were great.

The front desk staff is outstanding .Very helpful and friendly . The rooms are lovely .. the in room fireplace is a great touch ! The spa is great - very professional! The food and beverage needs to be improved .Stacks is ok.. but when I went , 1 hour before closing they were more interested in closing than they were in getting my order correct . The bar snacks at the Pinot pit need more variety and healthy less expensive options.
Villa Del Lago

We recently stayed for a week in an one bedroom unit which is at the bottom of the complex and closest to Lake Wakatipu. The view was fantastic and easy access to a jetty and small beach at the front of the property. The walking track which led into Queenstown was directly below the property. It was a quiet location and no road noise. Check in instructions were clear. The kitchen was well equipped and the unit had a washer/dryer. As noted by others, the apartment is not serviced during your stay but they did supply plenty of dishwasher, washing and bathroom needs. Yes there are lots of signs but obviously this is because people have not done the right thing. The heated floor in the bathroom kept that area lovely and warm and there was a gas fireplace in the lounge. The cleaning fee was annoying but we did save money by booking direct with the property and we were aware that it was charged. The driveway and parking is not for the faint hearted - it is a quick turn off the main road. Due to the steep nature of the site there is a hairpin bend to access the bottom level parking. The carpark itself is a tight space. There were a few flights of stairs to our room which did not bother us at all but may be problematic for others. Recommended.

The location of the hotel is very good, 5 minutes walk to the town. On the left is the ski center, on the right is the skyline, and it is almost walking distance to the main attractions. The room has a jacuzzi, but no view. Hotel decoration is relatively old

Amazing service and the most looked after I think I've felt in a hotel ever. We were hiking so out of reception and returned later than expected due to weather, when we got back we found our card had failed. Instead of kicking us to the curb and leaving us without a place to stay, they arranged for a self check in situation where we could square up payment in the morning, and went out of their way to provide a bottle of wine and extra snacks to make up for the fact we missed the free happy hour. Totally blown away and grateful to the team.
Fable Dunedin

We stayed 4 nights in the superior King room (Room 206) during the blizzard of Oct 2022. The room and bathroom were well-appointed and stunningly presented. It looks as good as advertised. The experience was excellent from check-in to check-out. Valet parking service was prompt and exceptional value - 30NZD a day feels like a steal. Service was attentive, responsive but not stuffy. Without intending to omit anyone, Romaine/Ramon(?) in The Press Club and Lianna(?) on the front desk were particularly easy to talk to. Of the 4 fine dining dinners we had in Dunedin, The Press Club at Fable was the stand out. It was well ahead of so-called ‘hatted’ restaurants like Moiety (don’t eat at Moiety, it’s terrible). The venison rack was a highlight.
QT Queenstown, an EVT hotel

Enjoyed a 4-night mini-break at QT Queenstown. Hotel is great and I’d highly recommend – perfect location (short stroll into town along lakefront); spacious rooms; and most importantly staff welcoming and professional (shout out especially to Louisa & Anthony on front desk and Darren & Erike(?) in restaurant/breakfast room – they’re great ambassadors for QT and made our stay extra special.
Hotel St Moritz Queenstown - MGallery Collection

Beautiful hotel in Queenstown. The room (lake view balcony) was lovely and comfortable. The breakfast was one the of best breakfast buffets I've had and the restaurant (also a nice bar there) has a beautiful view of the lake and mountains. The only thing I could fault with this hotel is that the only entrance has a set of stairs to reception that you must lift your bags up and down when you arrive and leave - and no one to help with your bags. That aspect was surely not a five star experience. However, a beautiful hotel and great service and amenities. Highly recommend.
