5 Stars Hotels in Lombardy, Italy

It is very true that a picture and an image tell their own powerful story! When my husband Guy and I arrived back at the Westin Hotel from Florence, Guy got down on the floor of the hotel reception on both knees to offer a prayer of thanks to Riccardo, the Head Concierge of the Magical Concierge Team. This is how grateful and delighted we were with the services of the Concierge team of Riccardo, Andrea and Silvia. Riccardo was unphased by us not having made Porter reservations for the Railway station. He said he would find a way to help for us with our large luggage. The combination of Riccardo’s skills and connections achieved a mini miracle; our taxi driver to Milan station had been briefed on how to secure porter assistance and the plan was executed with military precision. A young man appeared from nowhere to provide this assistance. This type of service can only be achieved by a Magical Concierge Team. Riccardo, Andrea and Silvia also scored perfection on our return journey from Florence to Milan. As the train arrived at Milan Central, Porter Andrea was holding up a sign with my name on it with the universal thumbs up signal. Watching this Porter lift two suitcases weighing around 20 kilos each from the overhead baggage rack as though they were a feather, was astonishing. Between them Porter Andrea and Mario, the driver of the chauffeur service ensured a seamless arrival back at the Westin. We recommend this Concierge team without any hesitation as the best.

A beautiful property literally a few steps from the station, yet once you step inside you feel a sense of calm and luxury due to the beautiful surroundings and very hospitable staff, from the bellmen, to the front desk, to the housekeeping and the restaurant staff. Our small room with a queen bed in the 6th floor and overlooked the station exterior and park. It was very clean and well appointed. Only the desk looked a bit worn, but certainly a minor point. Comfy beds and pillows. Coffee machine, tea machine, and we loved the Aqua di Parma toiletries with lovely scents. The buffet breakfast was excellent where again, service was very good. I enjoyed the spa services, including the steam room and salt room. Robes and slippers provided and the facilities were complimentary, including the gym and pool. The spa/gym were sparkling and high-end. To top it off, there was a very convenient complimentary hotel shuttle to take you to the sightseeing area of the Duomo and La Scala, and famous shopping area. We felt pampered during our stay!! Highly recommend.

This was an amazing hotel with friendly staff! I stayed there for a night but definitely will go back to enjoy spa and delicious food!! Family room was super comfortable and more than enough for 4 people. I highly recommend this hotel for not only business trips but also if you are traveling to Milan to explore the city. Location was super convenient too…

Nice and modern hotel in good location with great views over the Lago di Lugano. The staff was professional, experienced and super friendly. Breakfast was always good with plenty of choice. We'll definitely stay again at Grand Hotel Campione!

My mom and I stayed at the hotel in early April for 6 nights. Good customer service and great location, but housekeeping and cleanliness of the rooms are terrible. We had to call down to reception a couple of times for towels, and empty shampoo bottles and tissue boxes/toilet paper that were not replaced. On the second night, we also found a dirty sock by the curtain that definitely was not ours. Bed was made every day but when you turned over the comforter, the sheets were definitely not made. They were still crumpled. Front Desk staff however were super nice and responsive, but the hotel is definitely not five stars. I would probably try another hotel the next time I am in Milan.

The hotel is very close to the train station, more than 10 minutes walk, the subway is also very convenient, not far downstairs, opposite the Westin Hotel. The breakfast was plentiful and the service was welcoming. The toiletries were all water from Parma, which was replenished daily and the bathroom was large. Drinking water is delivered to the room at 7 or 8 pm every night. There is Carrefour nearby, and shopping is also convenient. The only drawback is that there is no hot water bottle, but we brought the hot water bottle completely unusable, and the scale felt heavy. The first day was in the morning. I could n’t get the room yet. I wanted to open the box and pick up something. The hotel manager, who opened the office for us with pictures, would keep things from getting messy in front of everyone.

Italians have a bad attitude and temper, and I don't know where this confidence comes from. However, the waiters of the Milan Mandarin Hotel are still trained according to global standards, which still makes the occupants very comfortable. Can be said to be worth the price. But don't expect anything higher.

The second time I stayed, it was really because the first time was very impressive. This time the room and the big bathtub were really perfect. I was even more satisfied than the first time. The hotel has an excellent location and is definitely worth staying. Having breakfast in the restaurant and looking at the promenade outside is really an unforgettable moment

When I first arrived, I saw a little alley in my alley. After entering, I found that it was a very good hotel. The rooms are modern in design, spacious, and the service is very good. The price is reasonable and I will stay again next time.

Apart from the noisy construction work right at the front door, there is nobody to assist with arrival, luggage, and no concierge either. Only ever one person on the front desk and not very happy either! A taxi will drop you on the road out front and then it’s up to you. Booked a Junior Suite for over €300 and it just was not up to standard. Lousy plumbing (not new to old Italian buildings), noisy, dull with lots of confusing light switches, air-con that sounds like a jumbo jet, and no tissues in bathrooms. So does that sound 5 Star? This hotel must have had some prestige back in the day but it would struggle to make a 3 Star ranking today. Location is not good either. Surrounded by graffiti and dirty looking buildings. A decent walk to Duomo, allow at least 15 minutes and very difficult to access Milano Central Station: at least 30 minutes and €30 in a taxi as the traffic is terrible with all the roadworks. It is a small hotel, with 18 rooms, the front desk is very small, and there is always only one person. The price of 5 stars, the room is about 3-4 stars, and the service is about 3 stars. But we missed a mobile phone after we checked out. The hotel found out and contacted us by email. We replied to the email and asked them to arrange for DHL to send it back (fees at their own expense). They dealt with it in a timely manner. Thank you very much.

This is hands down one of the nicest, well appointed, highly professional hotels out there. This will exceed every expectation a guest would expect from a 5 Star hotel. The decor, the food, the ambiance is exceptional. Every staff member was knowledgeable and pleasant from the moment we arrived until the moment we departed. I cant say enough and cannot recommend this hotel enough. 10 Stars!!
