Omonia
The hotel was renovated from an old building, and the elevator is so small that it can only accommodate one person and one suitcase, but the room facilities are very new and the bed is very comfortable. On the first day, I got a larger room at the corner of the street. Although I could see a little bit of the mountain view, the sound insulation was not good. The sound of cars and motorcycles on the street was endless, and it was noisy until ten o'clock in the evening. Fortunately, the ladies and gentlemen at the front desk were very warm and friendly. The next day, I changed to a room facing the inner courtyard. It immediately calmed down and I slept well, feeling refreshed. The breakfast restaurant is on the top floor. You can enjoy a cup of coffee in the open air and enjoy the mountain view of Athens. However, there is really no choice in food, they are all sweet. There are many homeless people around the hotel and the roads are not easy to walk, but the subway station is nearby and you can easily go anywhere. It is recommended to stay for one day first, then extend if you feel it is good, or change if not, there are many hotels around.
Sofitel Athens Airport

Had a few hours between connecting flights from Athens airport, so booking a night at the Sofitel was the best option to avoid non-hotel room surprises and miscommunication with apartment owners after a 14 hour flight. The distance from the terminal gates was literally across the street which was what I had hoped for. The cons: I came in with a 25Kg suitcase which was visually apparently heavy after a long flight and the hotel booked me the farthest room on my floor. Ok, no big deal. I’m young and strong. The first thing I wanted to do was just lie down on the bed to unwind after a long flight. I pulled up the tucked blanket to find that the bed sheets were stained near the pillows. Not something I would expect from a luxury hotel. Now I’m thinking if the sheets were even clean and what was the nature of the stains. Being extremely tired, I let it go and slept far from the stains. Went to take a shower. Two minutes in, I noticed the water not draining and water level rising. Had to shorten my shower time and abort with soapy feet to let the water drain before flooding the shower. Exited the room in the morning for my flight and noticed that the door was actually not locked while I was sleeping because the latch was stuck in the door. I feel that I would have just left the hotel a note on the shower and door and not write this review but the stained bed cover is unacceptable for the price I paid.

Highlights: beautiful views of acropolis and surrounding area from rooftop bar/restaurant space (also where breakfast served), buffet of good standard and restaurant staff very polite and a credit to the hotel. Improvements: reception staff generally very helpful but one particular staff member was not forthcoming with information/recommendations for restaurants/ details regarding late check out - we were always referred to come back later/following day to reception to ask someone else; when same questions asked later to a different member of staff, they were more than happy to help with all enquiries. Room: no ‘do not disturb’ sign available, housekeeping knocked on room at 9am every day, which woke us up; also housekeeping entering room after knocking on door without waiting for guests to respond; need some adjustments to respect privacy or guests; hotel corridors are very stuffy even in winter time Overall: a very pleasant stay

This hotel is a hidden gem, amazing facilities, rooms, location, beech, water, food, etc. Surpassed all my expectations. The Spa is also incredible, ask for Sofia as a masseus (she is world class therapist) and book her for at least twice. Then make sure to chat with Frosina about anything. Elena is also very nice and will help you out.

I stayed at this hotel for four days in Athens. The hotel rooms are large, well-equipped, neat, clean and hygienic. The hotel is located near Syntagma Square in the center of Athens. It is very convenient for eating, shopping and shopping, and the hotel service is warm.

Overall, this Hotel was good, friendliness in particular! Though we just stayed there for one nite (would have to get on board the cruise the following morning), the Receptionist, Efie was very helpful in telling us how we could get to the port and went extra miles in sorting out the transport details for us. Also, the breakfast there was satisfactory - though the food variety was just so so, the staff was very efficient in refilling, thus, all hot stuffs were found tasty. As for the room, it was clean and tidy. The cleanliness of the bathroom was praiseworthy (I know too well that I'm very particular on the toilet hygiene standard)。 If I would re-visit Athens of Greece, this Hotel will receive my priority consideration.

Great location, room is small but it got everything we need, staffs are very helpful, helped me with phone charger plug, last day they let us eat breakfast before the official opening hour because we had to leaves at 7am for the ferry. It’s one block away from the sightseeing bus stop, I mean if going to the Acropolis is your main goal, this hotel is a good choice, it is close to Prakka area and many restaurants in walking distance, 5-10 min walk to the entrance of the Acropolis And the museum. It has some road noise but it is in the city, we only stay 3 nights there, I didn’t feel like taking a taxi or Uber or metro train, we like the location of this hotel a lot. Would recommend to our friends.
