I stayed at the Shangri-La during my May Day holiday trip to Hohhot. I was a bit worried beforehand about the hotel being older, but the reliable service exceeded my expectations. The location is excellent; it's a short walk to MixC Shopping Mall, and not far from Dazhao Temple and Saishang Old Street, making getting around very convenient. I stayed in an Executive Suite, which had a one-bedroom, one-living room layout. The separate living room and bedroom made for a spacious and bright environment, perfect for traveling with two kids. They had already arranged an extra bed for my older child and a cot for the younger one before we checked in. The most delightful surprise was how the hotel showcased the grassland culture everywhere. The lobby featured yurts and hada (ceremonial scarves) to welcome guests, and horse-themed artworks were visible throughout. You could even try on Mongolian robes for a free photo op, allowing us to experience the rich Inner Mongolian culture without even leaving the hotel. Breakfast also had a strong local flavor. There were freshly made lamb shaomai, authentic lamb offal soup, and Mongolian milk tea – all the local specialties you could wish for. The Executive Lounge offered soft drinks, snacks, and fruits all day. During happy hour, the light dinner included about six hot dishes, with main courses ranging from shaomai to pizza and sushi. The service, from the doorman to the cleaning staff, was warm and attentive. The swimming pool was heated, and the fitness facilities were well-equipped. As an established five-star hotel in Hohhot, it's well-maintained overall and highly recommended!

room was clean and spacious. No complaints here. Checking in and out worked smoothly. But 2 things I have to complain about: 1) I have no idea why some people say the breakfast is great. For me and my wife it was terrible. Possibly the worst breakfast I ever had. Yes, they have a lot to offer. But somehow they make everything taste cheap and ”weird”. I ended up eating some dry bread with jam, because I couldn't eat anything else. I suspect that they don't cook by themselves, but buy some cheap readymade food and sell it as ”fresh”. Also, the breakfast still looks exactly the same as the pictures from more than 6 months ago. No change at all 2) no option to clean the clothes is ridiculous. I have no problem to pay or wash by myself but both they didn't allow me to do. I never saw this before. All in all it's not bad. If you don't care about the breakfast and don't want to wash your clothes, this hotel might be for you. The rooms are good and the service also very nice (apart from ”you can guess” the breakfast staff)

The best hotel in Baotou. The location is excellent, right next to Wanda Plaza, City Park, and a food street. The food at Xiang Palace is good and reasonably priced. The above-ground and underground parking lots are large enough and convenient for self-driving. The only drawback is that the path from the above-ground parking lot to the lobby is gravel, which is not luggage-friendly.

Bumped into a front desk staff member in the elevator, and he kindly pressed my floor for me. The room's carpet is thick, so you can't hear footsteps when you walk on it 🌙. The mattress is just the right firmness, and I slept soundly until six in the morning; the curtains block out light completely. There's a drawer under the sink, so the hairdryer isn't in the way. It's a three-minute walk to the subway entrance, so you don't even need an umbrella on rainy days 🚇.

The hotel's location is excellent, offering a quiet retreat in the midst of a bustling area. The rooms are new and very clean. They also offer airport pick-up service, and the front desk staff is incredibly warm and attentive. They even gave me a beautifully crafted special souvenir from Inner Mongolia. The breakfast spread was very generous. Overall, it was a fantastic experience.

My partner and I stayed here during our bicycle travels in China. The hotel was very generous holding a package for us for several months as we traveled from Xinjiang through Mongolia and back to China. They also held our bicycles for a week while we took a hiatus to Datong. The staff were friendly and Mark spoke excellent English and helped us a lot with arranging for taxis or other things that we needed. There are not any restaurants or really other businesses nearby - we needed to taxi into town for anything. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean on our initial stay. The pool was just a few lanes and the gym was pretty sparse, but both exist. The restaurant breakfast buffet was expansive but also expensive. It was better when the hotel was busy and the food turnover higher.

The hotel's surroundings are very pleasant. There's a botanical garden right next door where the hostas were recently in full bloom, making it a lovely place for a walk if you have time. The room itself was quite spacious, and the view from the floor-to-ceiling window was excellent. Both the front desk and housekeeping staff were very warm and helpful. The only minor drawback was that the air conditioning wasn't very effective, requiring a bit of patience for the room to cool down.

The room was very spacious, with a luxurious European-style decor that immediately gave off a sense of elegance and comfort. We arrived around 8 or 9 PM, and the lobby was bustling with people taking photos. The facilities inside were comprehensive; due to time constraints, we only managed to visit the restaurant, and breakfast was excellent. It's a small pity we didn't get a chance to explore the passage connecting the castle and the other Matryoshka hotel. The hotel service was fantastic; a big thank you to the staff (both male and female) who proactively helped with our luggage. My family was very satisfied, and the kids absolutely loved it.

The room was a bit warm, so they upgraded us to a suite. The facilities were excellent and clean, and the surrounding area was very lively. GGuest UserTaking advantage of the May Day holiday, I spontaneously embarked on a trip without much planning, intending to decide things as I went along. My classmate's mother recommended this hotel. To find a 5-star guesthouse-level hotel at this price during May Day was truly exceptional value for money. The hotel environment is excellent; although some areas were undergoing renovation, it didn't detract from the overall guest experience. The front office manager was incredibly welcoming, asking about our travel plans and offering genuine advice, such as visiting Dazhao Temple in the evening and reminding us about the significant temperature difference between day and night, suggesting we dress warmly. On my second day, I had originally planned to go to Chilechuan and then the desert, but she advised me to visit the desert first and then Chilechuan if time permitted. I readily took her advice, and the trip turned out to be perfect. The hotel's breakfast was fantastic and highly recommended. I look forward to staying here again during the summer holidays!

GGuest UserThis resort feels like an oasis in the middle of the desert. Beautiful, spacious, impeccably clean, and every bit deserving of its 5-star reputation. Our room was comfortable, spotless, and thankfully free from any cigarette smell. The laundry room was another pleasant surprise, equipped with new and well-maintained washers and dryers, with detergent provided for guests' convenience. All meals are included and served in the dining hall, making the stay truly hassle-free. The food was consistently good, with hotpot available for dinner. Drinks, snacks, and refreshments were also available throughout the day. It would be difficult to leave this place without gaining a little weight! 😜 Given the size of the resort, guests may occasionally need to use the resort's transportation to get around. Fortunately, the waiting time was minimal, and we were able to travel between locations quickly and efficiently. One minor drawback of the resort's impressive size is the walking distance to some rooms. The accommodation blocks are built in a circular layout, and our room happened to be located on the opposite side from the escalator landing. This meant walking past nearly 50 rooms every time we returned to our room. While this could be inconvenient, we did notice that the rooms closer to the escalator often had a noticeable cigarette smell in the corridor. By contrast, our section at the far end was completely free of smoke odours, which made the extra walk worthwhile. Whether these were designated non-smoking rooms, I'm not entirely sure. What truly sets this resort apart is the range of activities and entertainment on offer. Guests can enjoy camel rides, ATV adventures, flying fox rides, guided stargazing walks, and nightly concerts and performances complete with spectacular fireworks displays. 🌌🐪🏍️🎆 For those looking for a Club Med-style, all-inclusive holiday with a unique desert setting, I would highly recommend this resort. It offers a memorable experience that combines comfort, adventure, entertainment, and excellent food in one remarkable destination.

VVV188My overall stay exceeded my expectations. The location is fantastic, making it super convenient for dining and getting around. The lobby is clean and grand, and the staff are very friendly. Check-in and check-out were a breeze. The room was spacious with great natural light and ventilation. Housekeeping was incredibly thorough; there wasn't a speck of dirt or any unpleasant smells, even in the corners and bathroom. The bedding was soft and comfortable, ensuring a really good night's sleep. All the amenities were in perfect working order, with hot water and air conditioning functioning smoothly. The breakfast offered a wide variety of options and tasted great. For a mid-range hotel, this level of quality and value for money is truly rare. I've already recommended it to friends, and I'll definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip.

GGuest UserFor this May Day holiday, we chose the Sheraton in Hohhot primarily because of the two king-sized beds, which were perfect for our family trip. The hotel room was well-maintained, and the overall facilities and location were also good. However, the breakfast variety and management definitely need improvement. It was hard to get the local specialty, shaomai, as there was a limited quantity, and guests had to rush to grab them. The dining area was also limited, and eating in the hallway wasn't a great experience. I hope the hotel continues to work on these aspects! The front desk staff was very nice; they even upgraded our kids' breakfast for free, which we really appreciated.

GGuest UserFirst impression of the hotel was good. We stayed at 25th floor, So that the room is bigger than others. The reason we choose this hotel because It has a swimming pool. So, after checking in, I went to check the pool. I was shocked to see so many people there. It turned out there was a swimming lesson with 6 instructors and twenty something students. The lesson is running from 9am to 8.30pm. ( pool is closed at 9.30 and only 4 line.) I was very disappointed, therefore I called the duty manager and told him the issue. Soon after, the front seat manager Mr Li came to my room with apologetic attitude. Even though he couldn't resolved the issue, we felt that it was out of his hand. Food at fifth floor was so so. Breakfast has a lot of room to improve. If you want to relax in the pool. Don't go there. Otherwise it is a good choice to have a peaceful sleep.
